Ruth Moormeier Carpenter, 65, of Covington, died at 10:15 a.m. Thursday at her home. She was a retired sales clerk with Dick's Liquors, Covington.
Survivors include sons, Donald Carpenter of Independence and Michael Carpenter of Cincinnati; daughters, Linda Todd of Ludlow and Sharon Meyer of Piner; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Private services were Sunday. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell. Memorials are suggested to St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, 401 E. 20th St., Covington, Ky. 41014. Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Covington, is handling arrangements.

Bernice K. Dennler, 55, of Cincinnati, formerly of Erlanger, died Saturday at her home. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include daughters, Leslie Sapienza of Pittsburgh and Holly Angel of Erlanger; sons, Michael Dennler of Florence, Scott Dennler of Bellevue and Patrick Dennler of Covington; a brother, William Becknell of Lebanon; sisters, Ena Faye Warren and Pauline Stuerenberg, both of Cincinnati; and nine grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Burlington. Visitation will begin there at noon Wednesday. Burial will be in Hopeful Lutheran Cemetery, Florence.

Clifford F. "Shorty" Harrison, 92, of Newport, died at 10:52 p.m. Saturday at Baptist Convalescent Center, Newport. He was a retired farmer and a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Alexandria. His wife, Lena J. Harrison, died in 1988.
Survivors include sons, Everett Harrison and Nelson Harrison, both of Alexandria; a daughter, June Burchett of Ft. Myers, Fla.; brothers, Clyde Harrison and Roy Harrison, both of Grants Lick, and Rolley Harrison of Florence; sisters, Thelma Miller of Alexandria and Dorothy Darlington of Cold Spring; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul United Church of Christ. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Alexandria Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Alexandria. Anna D. McClure, 94, of Erlanger, died Friday at Woodspoint Nursing Home, Florence. She was a homemaker and a member of Erlanger Baptist Church. Her husband, Howard R. McClure, died in 1967. Sons, Jack McClure and Russell McClure, died in 1997 and 1992, respectively.
Survivors include a son, Donald R. McClure of Jacksonville Beach, Fla.; a daughter, Joanne Skidmore of Erlanger; a brother, Ray Reffitt of Erlanger; a sister, Jean White of Elsmere; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Erlanger Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Stith Funeral Home, Florence. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell.

Frank L. Merkle, 65, of Edgewood, died Sunday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South in Edgewood. He was a lab technician with Post Glover Electric Co., a member of St. Henry Church in Elsmere, and an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Ralph Fulton VFW Post No. 6423 and a Parish Kitchen volunteer. His wife, Glenda Helen Merkle, died in 1990.
Survivors include daughters, Paula Hodge of Erlanger and Connie Kreutzjans of Edgewood; brothers, Al Merkle of Ft. Thom as, John Merkle of Cincinnati and Robert Merkle of Crestview Hills; sisters, Dorothy Rehkamp of Florence and Roselyn Smith of Cincinnati; and six grandchildren.

Jack Mitchell Murphy, 61, of Lakeland, Fla., died Wednesday at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He was a member of Shepherd Road Presbyterian Church in Lakeland.
Survivors include his wife, Bonita Murphy; sons, Gregory Murphy of Cincinnati and Jason Murphy of Lakeland, Fla.; a daughter, Jennifer Murphy of Lakeland; brothers, Wharton Murphy Jr. of Macon, Ga., and David Murphy of Spartanburg, S.C.; and sisters, Nellie Moore, Hazel Turner and Blanche Murphy, all of Spartanburg, S.C., Pauline Lawrence of Mason, Ohio, and Dott Harrison of Woodruff, S.C.

Carl Victor Pierson, 78, of Somerville, Texas , died May 30 at his son's home in Demossville. He was a retired pilot with Petrolite Corp., Houston, and a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War. Wives Carolyn Pierson and Beverly Pierson both preceded him in death.
Survivors include a son, Carl V. Pierson Jr. of Demossville; a brother, Hylmar Pierson of Old Lyme, Conn.; sisters, Ruth L. Pierson and Frida Lynn Pierson, both of Largo, Fla.; and three grandchildren.
