Harold E. Sampson, 69, of Falmouth, died Friday at his residence. He was retired from Fuller Manufacturing, Falmouth. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of American Legion Post No. 109.
Survivors include his wife, Deloris Straub Sampson; a son, Gary Sampson of Dayton, Ohio; a brother, James Sampson of Peach Grove; sisters, Lorretta Biddle of Foster, Elsie King of Cincinnati, Mona Brock of Williamstown.
Services will be at 2 p.m Sunday at Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth, with visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today. Burial will be in Broadridge Cemetery, Falmouth. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Hope, 1 W. McDonald Parkway, Maysville, Ky. 41056.

Gilbert Eugene "Gene" Sprague, 54, of Cold Spring, died at 1:51 a.m. Thursday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence.
Survivors include his parents, Elbren and Ella Sprague of Cold Spring; a brother, David Sprague of Cold Spring; and sisters, Carolyn Sprague and Mary Sprague, both of Cold Spring, Rosalee Hendricks of Cincinnati and Judith Roll of Cleves, Ohio.
Services will be at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Plum Creek Cemetery, Butler. Alexandria Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Dillus Turner, 79, of Walton, died at 8:25 p.m. Thursday at St. Luke Hospital East, Ft. Thomas. He was an elevator operator for John Galbreath Co., Cincinnati.
Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Powell Turner; sons, Kenneth Turner of Bargersville, Ind., and Lonnie Turner of Union; a sister, Vola Anderson of New Richmond, Ohio; brothers, Dewey Turner of Berea and Dallas Turner of McKee; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Monday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Walton, with visitation from 10 a.m. Entombment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger.

Dr. Glenn L. Pfister, St. Luke surgeon
Medicine was a way of life and a family endeavor for Dr. Glenn Louis Pfister.
A general surgeon, Dr. Pfister was a graduate of the University of Cincinnati Medical School, as were his brothers, Dr. Howard Pfister and Dr. Raymond Pfister.
"His whole life was his surgery and his family," said Dr. Glenn Pfister's daughter, Maggie Grefer, of Ft. Thomas.
Dr. Pfister, 78, of Ft. Thomas, died Friday morning at his winter home in Florida.
He was a surgeon with St. Luke Hospitals and a member of the American College of Surgeons. He retired about 10 years ago and lived in Ft. Thomas in the summer and Marco Island, Fla., in the winter, Mrs. Grefer said.
At one point, Dr. Pfister served a term as chief of staff at St. Luke, said his daughter.
Her father's office was on Highland Avenue in Ft. Thomas, Mrs. Grefer said.
"He loved Ft. Thomas and his practice there and at St. Luke," said Mrs. Grefer, the wife of Dr. Michael Grefer. "He suggested that my husband establish a practice there. 'It's a very good life,' " she recalled her father saying.
When Dr. Pfister began his career, surgery was less specialized, and he did Caesarian deliveries and abdominal surgery, among other procedures, Mrs. Grefer said.
Her father liked to play golf, to boat and to garden, Mrs. Grefer said, but most of that came after his retirement.
Other survivors include his wife, Margaret Brinkman Pfister; sons, Richard Glenn Pfister and Fredrick Charles Pfister, both of Lexington; brothers, Dr. Howard Pfister of Cincinnati and Dr. Raymond Pfister of Naples, Fla.; a sister, Loraine Eppler of Easton, Md.; and eight grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Dobbling Funeral Home, Ft. Thomas. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate. Memorials are suggested to St. Luke Hospital Foundation, 85 N. Grand Ave., Ft. Thomas, Ky. 41075.

Jerry Allen, 74, of Ludlow, died Friday at Ft. Thomas Veterans Administration Nursing Home. Born Sol Jerome Schwartz, he was a self-employed movie, records and promotions worker, and a member of Adath Israel Synagogue in Amberley Village, Ohio; the Ludlow Vets; and the Ludlow Rotary Club and Senior Citizens. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline Brown Allen; and a brother, Ralph "Mickey" Schwartz of Seattle.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, Ludlow. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell.

Herman Bailey, 71, of Lexington, died Friday at Clark Regional Medical Center, Winchester. He was a retired employee of Rainbow Bakery, Lexington, and an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include a sister, Mildred Gallaher of Winchester.
Graveside services were this morning at Knights of Pythias Cemetery, Sadieville. Rogers Funeral Home, Corinth, handled arrangements.

Earnest William Belcher, 83, of Grants Lick, died Friday at Lakeside Place Nursing Home, Highland Heights. He was a retired laborer and farmer. A son, David William Belcher, died in 1960.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine Leichtle Belcher; a son, Terry Wayne Belcher of Grants Lick; sisters, Emma Lou Barth and Betty June Sheanshang, both of Grants Lick; and two grandchildren.

Henry Belton, 78, formerly of Covington, died Friday at Oak Pavilion Nursing Home, Cincinnati. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service, Cincinnati, and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was chairman of the Deacon Board at First Baptist Church, Covington, where he was also a Sunday school teacher.
Mr. Belton was a former Deputy Grand Master of Grand Lodge of Kentucky; former Master of Kenton Lodge No. 16 F&AM, Covington; former Commander-In-Chief of Hiram Consistory No. 123, Covington; member of Durgan Chapter No. 5 Royal Arch Masons, Covington; charter member of Prince White Court No. 1; and member of Heronie of Jericho, Ohio chapter.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel Shambley Belton; a daughter, Carol Belton Dantley; brothers, Elisha Belton and Willie Belton, both of Alabama; sisters, Carrie Deloach and Fannie Powell, both of Gulfport, Miss.; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, Covington. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the church, with Masonic services at 6 p.m. Burial will be in Vine Street Hill Cemetery, Cincinnati. Jones and Simpson Funeral Home, Covington, is handling arrangements.

Charles Edward Brandenburg, 64, of Summerfield, Fla., formerly of Glencoe, died Thursday at Munroe Regional Medical Center in Ocala, Fla. He was a retired factory worker.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy E. Brandenburg; a daughter, Dawn Ellen Leece of Hamilton, Ohio; sons, Charles E. Brandenburg Jr. of Hamilton and Branden D. Brandenburg of Manitowoc, Wis.; and seven grandchildren.

Lawrence Brian, 76, of Melbourne, died at 3:35 p.m. Saturday at St. Luke Hospital East, Ft. Thomas. He was a sheet-metal worker with B&J Jacobs Co., Cincinnati, and owner of Brian Ceramics, Melbourne.
Survivors include his wife, Jerry A. Lois M. Buck, 84, of Chandler, Ind., formerly of Robertson County, died Friday at Baker's Rest Haven, Booneville, Ind. She was a retired waitress and a member of Mt. Olivet Methodist Church. Her husband, Thomas David Buck, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Thomas G. Buck of Chandler, Ind.; a daughter, Diana Moody of Lexington; a sister, Leola Henson of Mt. Olivet; half-brothers, Rennie Manning and Ronald Manning, both of Ashland; half-sisters, Virginia Brooks of Betty Tackett and Joyce Leighty, all of Ashland; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Charles Carmichael, 81, of Moore Haven, Fla., formerly of Ft. Thomas, died at 12:20 p.m. Saturday at his daughter's home in Highland Heights. He was a retired engineer with IBM, Cincinnati, a member of Henry Barnes Masonic Lodge No. 607 in Dayton, and an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Lee Winter Carmichael; a son, Steven James Carmichael of Ft. Thomas; a daughter, Sally May Siegmundt of Highland Heights; a sister, Burdette Paxton of Morning View; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
