Missling, Clyde
Clyde Missling, of Appleton, age 81 years, passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2007 at Brewster Village.
Clyde was born on December 26, 1925 in Appleton to the late Victor and Della (Schwann) Missling. He was married
to Edna (nee Hooker) Missling for 58 years.
Clyde served on board the USS Idaho BB-42 as a seaman 1c during WWII.
Some of the battles he fought in were the Iwo Jima and Okinawa.
Clyde earned the Victory medal, Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign medal (4 Br. Stars) and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon.
He was a loving husband, great father, caring grandfather and a wonderful friend to many.
Clyde is survived by his children: Raymond Missling, Green Bay; Sharon Missling, Neenah; Larry (Rachel) Missling, Waukesha and Vicky (friend Bruce) Missling, Neenah; grandchildren: Jason, Jennifer (Dave), Jessica, Nickolas and Aaron; brothers: Wayne (Evelyn) Missling, Phillips, WI and Stanley Missling, Seattle, WA. He was preceded in death by his wife Edna Missling, brothers: Donald (Betty), Kenneth (Norma) and Ralph Missling.
The funeral service for Clyde will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 26, 2007 at HIGHLAND MEMORIAL PARK – STAR OF HOPE CHAPEL, 3131 N. Richmond St., Appleton with Rev. Martin Ruge officiating.
Burial with full military honors will follow.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 – 8:00 pm at Wichmann Funeral Home and again at Highland Memorial Park from 10:00 am until the time of service.
A memorial fund is being established in his name.
Missling, Edna Rice
Age 72, passed away on Monday January 8, 2007 at Appleton Medical Center.
Edna was born September 23, 1934 in Pineville, Kentucky to the late Victor and Thelma (Rice) Hooker.
She was married
to Clyde Missling for 58 years and he survives her.
She is also survived by her children Raymond of Green Bay; Sharon of Neenah; Larry (Rachel) of Waukesha; Vicky and friend Bruce of Neenah; her sister Ruby (Melvin) Ball of Cincinnatti, Ohio; brothers in law, Wayne (Evelyn) Missling of Phillips, WI., and Stanley Missling of Seattle, WA.
Edna is further survived by her grandchildren, Jason, Jennifer (Dave), Jessica, Nickolas, and Aaron.
She was preceded in death by brothers Curtis and Ralph, and a sister Ruth.
Edna was a superb homemaker and a wonderful wife and mother, who always put her family first.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday January 12, 2007 at Highland Memorial Park Chapel 3131 N. Richmond St., Appleton, with Pastor Martin Ruge officiating.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home and on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at Highland Memorial Park.
A memorial is being established.
Neal, Bessie Lefevers
Mrs. Bessie LeFevers Neal, 73, a lifelong resident of Kettle Island, Ky., died at the Knox County General Hospital, Barbourville, Ky., Thursday, November 17 after a long illness.
Mrs. Neal was born March 25, 1910 at Kettle Island, a daughter of the late Sonney and Mandy Elliott LeFevers.
She was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Mill Creek Baptist Church at Kettle Island.
She is survived by her husband, Lee Neal, Kettle Island, Ky.; one sister, Lillie LeFevers Lawson, Kettle Island; one brother, Farmer LeFevers, Stoney Fork, Ky.; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, November 19 at the Arnett Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ray Collett and the Rev. Otto Brock officiating.
Burial followed in the Laurel Fork cemetery at Kettle Island with the men of Mill Creek Church as active pallbearers.
Arnett Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Nunley, William Earl (Buss)
DORTON BRANCH - William Earl "Buss" Nunley, 87, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2006, at Pineville Community Hospital.
Born July 31, 1919, he was the son of the late William Harrison Nunley and Eliza Cribbs, Nunley.
He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, and was the caretaker for Pineville Memorial cemetery.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Nunley; son, William Harrison Nunley; sisters, Edna Mae Bingham, Mildred Hamby, Juanita Nunley and Margaret Nunley; brothers, Francis and Leonard Nunley.
Survivors include two sons, Buell (Ginger) Nunley, Dorton Branch, Staff Nunley, Dorton Branch; three daughters, Vickie Nunley, Dorton Branch, Cheryl (Norman) Carmack, Tinsley, and Joyce (John) Brooks, Beckley, W. Va.; brother, Clyde (Ruth) Nunley; grandchildren, Julie (Chris) Nunley, Norman Thomas (Christy) Carmack, Tammy Maynard, Kathy Hensley, Michelle McDonald, Whitley, Brittney and Vanessa Partin; a host of great-grandchildren, including Cody and Colby Frazier; special friends, Lori Morrison, Mary Ellen Frazier, and Dolly Taylor; and a host of nieces and nephews, including Jackie Nunley and Judy.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Creech-Durham Funeral Home with the Rev. Arthur Jackson and the Rev. Jeff Tingle presiding. Music will be by Mickey Wilder, Donna Mills, and Arthur Jackson.
Interment will be in Pineville Memorial cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Redmond, Mike Mills, Mike Rose, Jackie Hoskins, Don Mason, Warren Maynard, and Arthur Jackson. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Bradshaw, Rick Sizemore, Brad Asher, Jackie Nunley, Jack Cornett, Frank Maynard, and his fox hunting club and friends. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Friday at Creech-Durham Funeral Home, Pineville, which is in charge of arrangements.
Nunn, Alice Versille
Alice Versille Nunn, 99, of Crab Orchard Route 1, died at 8 p.m. Monday, November 13 at Sowder Nursing Home in Brodhead.
Born in Harlan County, April 22, 1879, to the late George and Pheba Howard Coldiron, she was a housewife and was a member of Watts Chapel Baptist Church. Three sons preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons. Raymond Nunn and Henry Lefevers, both of Crab Orchard Route 1; a step son, Fred Nunn of Kettle Island, Ky; a step daughter, Ida Hall of Danville; eight grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, four nieces and six nephews.
Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Beazley-Speaks-Martin Funeral Home by Rev. Joe Messer.
Burial was in Turkeytown cemetery in Lincoln County.
Nunn, Charles
Charles Nunn of Kettle Island died June 23, 1961 in the Miner's Memorial Hospital in Middlesboro.
He was born November 10, 1910.
He is survived by five children, Tommy Lou Cornor, Fairfield, Calif.; Charles L. Nunn, Rantoul, Ill.; Eugene Nunn, Brentwood, Wyo.; Judy Carroll Nunn, Bossier City, La.; Bill Michael Nunn, Bossier City, La.; two brothers, Fred Nunn, Kettle Island; and Raymond Nunn, Crab Orchard, Ky.; two sisters, Mattie Lefevers, Kettle Island; and Ida Hall, Crab Orchard, Ky.
Rev. W.B. Bingham officiated at the Funeral Services held Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Mill Creek Baptist Church.
Burial was in the Family cemetery at Kettle Island.
The Durham Funeral Home was in charge.
Nunn, Clayton
Clayton Nunn, age 84, of Corbin, passed away on Thursday November 30, 2006 at the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin.
He was born on January 8, 1922 in Straight Creek in Bell County, Kentucky a son to the late Cam and Grace LeFevers Nunn.
He was a retired Lab Technician for U.S. Steel and a Member of the First United Methodist Church in Corbin.
Clayton was a US Army Veteran of World War II having served under both General Patton and General Bradley.
He served in five major battles, Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two Brothers, Clifton and Ray Nunn, and three Sisters, Lezette Vicini, Thelma Halcomb, and Lillian Wilder.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline Hensley Nunn; Daughter Linda Nunn Parris and husband Lee of Knoxville, two Grandchildren, Shawn Parris, and Jennifer Joice and husband Chris all of Knoxville; one Sister, Jewell Geller of Chattanooga, TN.
He is also survived by numerous Nieces, Nephews, Family and Friends who will mourn his passing.
Funeral service will be on Monday December 4, 2006 at 11am at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Bobbby Joe Eaton and Rev. Timothy Thompson officiating.
Burial will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Lily, with Military graveside honors by VFW Post #1410 in Corbin.
Visitation will be on Sunday December 3rd from 6-8pm at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
Osborne, Earl
DORTON BRANCH - Earl Osborne, 84, passed away Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, at Pineville Community Hospital.
He was born June 8, 1918, in Bell County, a son of the late Dave and Lucy Lefevers Osborne.
He was a member and deacon of Bethlehem Baptist Church, and was a veteran of World War II.
He was named a Kentucky Colonel in 1974, and was also a past member of the elks Lodge and Lions Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Norma Bingham; three brothers, Edd, Hobart, and Charles "Chalk" Osborne.
Survivors include two brothers, James B. Osborne, Greeneville, Ky., Rudolph and wife, Mary Osborne, Barbourville, Ky.; a host of nieces and nephews; a dear friend, Bonnie Bingham; and a many special friends and other family members from the Dorton Branch community.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Creech-Durham Funeral Home with the Revs. Stan Lewis and Thea O. Carter presiding.
Music will be provided by Mike Mills and the Don Bingham family. Burial will be in Pineville Memorial Gardens.
Military rights will be conducted at the graveside by the American Legion Dewey Guy Post #14.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Steve Morgan, and the deacons of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at Creech -Durham Funeral Home, Pineville, which is in charge of arrangements.
Partin, Emily King
Emily King Partin, 87, of Clairfield, Tenn., passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at UT Medical Center in Knoxville, Tenn.
She was born Sept. 1, 1919, at Whitley County, Ky. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Wayland Partin; daughter, Christine Russell; granddaughter, Janna Raye Thomas; great-grandson, Daniel Keith Partin; parents, Ned and Nancy Lambdin King; brothers Ned King and James King; half-brothers, Roscoe Gibson and Oscar Gibson; sisters, Pearl Teague and Nannie Partin; half-sisters, Ada Murray and Ida Pruitt.
She is survived by her daughters, Charlene Partin and husband, Frank, Carolyn Thomas and husband, Edd, and son-in-law, R.T. Russell, all of Clairfield; grandchildren, Darl Russell and wife, Margie, Keith Partin and wife, Loois, Greg Partin and wife, Denise, all of Clairfield, Susan Hanmer and husband Mark, of Greensburg, Ind., Tim Russell and wife, Beth, of Jacksboro, Cheryl Hines and husband, Robert, of Jonesville, Va., Eddie Thomas of Ft. Bragg, N. Car.; 17 great-grandchildren; and special friend, Joe Davis of Clairfield.
Funeral services were Thursday, June 14, at the Cox and Son Funeral Chapel with Rev. Horace Partin and Rev. Keith Bays officiating.
Interment was Friday, June 15, in Green Hills Memorial Garden, Middlesboro, Ky.
Cox and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
