Rev. Clyde Lefevers, 41
KETTLE ISLAND -- Rev. Clyde Lefevers, 41, passed away Monday, Aug. 7, 1995, in Harlan County, Ky., as the result of a logging accident.
He was born April 12, 1954 in Bell County, a son of the late Charles Reed Lefevers and Mrs. Frankie Johnson Penrod, who survives. He was a minister of the Pentecostal faith, and was a member, deacon, and missionary director of the Harvest Worship Center in Harlan County.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one son, Michael Caleb Lefevers.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Lefevers, Kettle Island; his mother, Frankie Johnson Penrod, Winchester, Ky.; two sons, Joseph Lefevers and Todd Lefevers, both of Kettle Island; two daughters, Hannah Lefevers and Elizabeth Lefevers, both of Kettle Island; three brothers, Bill Lefevers, Lexington, Ky., Mike Lefevers, Kettle Island, and Tim Lefevers, Arjay; three sisters, Sharon Shores, Chillhowie, Va., Norma Doenges, Ft. Wayne, Ind., and Kathy Lawson, Cincinnati, Ohio, one grandchild, and a host of other friends, relatives and loved ones.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mill Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Roland Lee and Robert Brock presiding. Burial will be in the Lefevers Family cemetery at Kettle Island.
Brothers and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation is after 4 p.m. today at Mill Creek Baptist Church.
Durham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Lefevers, Connie Lue
Mrs. Connie Lue Lefevers, 23, of 518 Tennessee Avenue, Pineville, Ky., passed away suddenly Thursday, December 14, 1978, at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lexington, Ky.
Mrs. Lefevers was born July 17, 1955, in Wyandott, Mich., the daughter of Millard and Katie Jackson Stigal.
She was a member of the Straight Creek Pentecostal Church.
She is survived by her husband, Morris Lefevers, Jr., Pineville; a son, Anthony Wayne Lefevers, Pineville; her parents, Millard and Katie Stigal, Miracle, Ky.; two brothers, Roger Dale Stigal, U.S. Army, Fort Knox, Ky, and Earl Johnson, Corbin, Ky.; her grandmother, Luevernia Miracle, Calvin, Ky.; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 17 at the Straight Creek Pentecostal Church with the Rev. George Neal officiating. Music will be provided by the church singers. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Mike Lawson, Jim Lawson, Henry Lawson and Don Wilson.
The family will receive friends after 5 p.m. this afternoon, Saturday, at the Straight Creek Pentecostal Church.
Lefevers, David Lanny
Flat Lick - David Lanny Lefevers, 63, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2006, at Pineville Community Hospital.
He was born in Baughman, Ky., on Aug. 26, 1943, the son of the late Elmer and Ruby Gregory Lefevers. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, had worked for United Air and had been an office manager for Elmo Greer and Sons for many years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Lefevers Stewart.
Survivors include his brother, Pearl Ray Lefevers and wife, Robin; sister, Jennifer Jones and husband, John; nieces and nephews, Mary Stewart Hammons, J.S. Stewart III, Emily Hoskins, David Ray Stewart, Joyce Mary Lefevers and Jonna Knox; several great nieces and great-nephews, special cousin, Johnny Lefevers, friend, Bessie Lefevers and special brothers-in-law, J.S. Stewart, Jr. and John Jones and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
Services will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with the Rev. Rondald Howard and David Ray Stewart presiding. Music will be by Jacob Roan and Mike Mills.
Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the J.S. Stewart Jr. cemetery at Flat Lick. Pallbearers will be Johnny Lefevers, John Slusher, Colby Slusher, John Golden, Jim Stewart III, David Ray Stewart, Clint Hurley, Larry Hammons, Mike Knox, Todd Baker, Dr. Shawn Fugate and Morris Lefevers Jr.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home, Pineville.

Veteran dies in Accident
Pistol Accidentally Discharged at Night Club
Delnoe Lefevers, 23 year old veteran, died in the Pineville Community Hospital Sunday (3/30/1947) as the result of a gunshot wound received four days before at the Flamingo Inn, a night club on the Four Mile road.
According to reports following the shooting Lefevers attempted to pull his pistol from his belt and it hung and in some way was discharged.
The bullet, entered the abdomen and lodged in his groin.
He was taken to the hospital for treatment but refused to remain, returning to his home at Kettle Island, officers reported.
He was brought back a day later when his condition became alarming and died there Sunday.
He was the son of Mrs Noah Lefevers and is survived by three brothers, Walter and Martin Lefevers, Kettle Island, and Newt Lefevers, Cardinal.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the home with Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3131 in charge.
Veterans formed an honor guard and fired a salute at the grave. Burial was under direction of Durham Funeral Home.
Lefevers, Donnie Ray
Donnie Ray LeFevers, 23, of 420 McBee St., Junction City, died there Tuesday from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest, according to Boyle County Coroner Dr. James W. Ramey.
Ramey said LeFevers died about 3 p.m. in a bedroom at his parents' house where he had been living.
A Boyle County deputy sheriff said LeFevers' body was found by his father, who arrived home just after the incident.
Born July 24, 1960, in Danville, LeFevers was the son of Clyde and Ruby McDaniel LeFevers of Junction City.
He was a member of the Church of God and was a truck driver for Penn Ventilators.
Survivors include his wife, Donna M. LeFevers of Danville; a daughter, Siobhan Moon of Danville; a brother, Milton LeFevers of Danville; a sister, Mrs. Jerry (Linda) Kerr of Columbia; a half sister, Mrs. Ron (Mary) Adams of Indianapolis.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. Bill Stuthridge.
Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

ONE DEAD, ONE SHOT IS HOLIDAY TOLL
Ed Lefevers is Slain by Mosco Hendrickson; Jas Sizemore is Wounded
Ed Lefevers, 22 years old was shot and killed Friday night near his home on Mill Creek and Mosco Hendrickson, 30 is in jail charged with willful murder.
According to County Judge W.T. Robbins liquor was at the bottom of the affair.
Lefevers and his father, Noah Lefevers were going to Hendrickson’s house, according to the elder man, when Hendrickson opened fire on them, killing his son.
He returned the fire but did not hit anyone.
Hendrickson claims, according to Judge Robbins, that Lefvers went by his house and fired several shots into it.
He claims that later Lefevers returned with his father and again started trouble.
Hendrickson then fired, as he claimed, in self-defense.
Noah Lefevers swore out a warrant charging Hendrickson with willful murder and he is held without bond in jail here.
An examining trial of the case has been set for Monday.
Another shooting affray marred the holiday season on Straight Creek. J.H. Rogers shooting and wounding James Sizemore.
Rogers claims that Sizemore threatened him and the wounded man claims that he was shot without reason.
Sizemore was brought to the Continental Hospital Christmas Day following the shooting and was reported in a serious condition.
Two barrels of a shotgun were fired at him, one taking effect in his back.
Rogers is about 45 years old and Sizemore is about 35. Both are miners in Roth Camp.
Sizemore swore out a warrant charging malicious shooting and wounding with intent to kill.
Rogers was later released on bond of $500, and his hearing was set for Saturday.
Lefevers, Eliza Elliott
Mrs. Eliza Lefevers of Cincinnati, Ohio, a former Resident of Kettle Island Ky., died Monday July 19, 1965 at 9:30 a.m. at the General Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio following a short illness.
Mrs.Lefevers was born in Bell County, November 16, 1911, the daughter of the late Noah and Anna Elliott Lefevers.
She came from a well known family of Bell County and had lived here all of her life until after the death of her Mother four years ago.
She then moved to Cincinnati to make her home.
Survivors are two daughters Mrs. Lovella Wilson and Mrs. Pauline Hughes of Cincinnati; two sisters Mrs. Mary Simpson of Louellan, Ky and Mrs. Maxie Brock of Kettle Island; two brothers Walter Lefevers of Morristown Tenn. and Martin Lefevers of Cincinnati; three grandchildren and many other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday July 22 at 2 p.m. at the Arnett Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev.Thea O. Carter officiating.
Pall bearers will be Garry Lynn Leter, Garry Dale Miracle, Wayne Howell, David Price, Garry Smith, Roy Burk Jr., Paul Brock and Edd Jones.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight.

Lefevers, Elmer
Mr. Elmer Lefevers, 64, of Flat Lick, Ky., a former Bell County resident passed away Wednesday, July 14, 1976 at his home of an apparent heart attack.
Mr. Lefevers was born November 22, 1911, in Bell County, son of Mitt and Emily Hoskins Lefevers.
He was a former bus driver and a Pineville City policeman. He was a member of the Turkey Creek Baptist Church at Balkan, Ky.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ruby Gregory Lefevers of Flat Lick; two daughters, Mrs. Jennifer Jones of Pineville, and Mrs. Joyce Stewart of Flat Lick, Ky.; two sons, Pearl Ray Lefevers of Kettle Island, and David Lefevers of Foster City, Calif.; two brothers, George Lefevers of Pineville, and Morris (Acle) Lefevers of Middlesboro.
Funeral services were Friday, July 16 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church at Pineville, with the Rev W.B. Bingham, the Rev. Rafe Collett and the Rev. Charles Jones officiating. Burial was in the Stewart cemetery at Flat Lick.
Pallbearers were Donnie Bush, John Lefevers, Morris Lefevers, Jr., Larry Lefevers, James S. Stewart, III, David Ray Stewart, and Larry Hammons.
Arnett Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
