Bruce R. Caird, 64, of Paintsville died May 25, 2009 at his home. He was born November 11, 1944 in Ann Arbor, Michigan to the late Reid and Ruth Jedele Caird. He is survived by his 2 Sons: Adam B. Caird & Allen J. Caird; both of Lexington, Ky.; Daughter: Amanda Primm, Lexington, Ky.; 3 Granddaughters: Tracy Paige Caird, Elizabeth Sinclair Primm & Margaret Jamison Primm; Grandson: William Reid Primm. Memorial Service will be held at a later date with committal services to held at the Bethlehem cemetery, Ann Arbor, Michigan. There was no visitation. Arrangements are by the Paintsville Funeral Home.

Lundie Estep, 98, of Flat Gap, Ky. died July 26, 2008. He is survived by his Sister: Myrtle Burchett, Paintsville, Ky.: several nieces and nephews. He was born November 1, 1909, at Fuget, Ky., to the late Elzie and Rachael Savannah "Vannie" (Estep) Estep. He retired 33 years ago as a Ground Keeper for the Parks Department of Columbus, Ohio. Betty Jo Burchett
Betty Jo Burchett, 75, of Eastwood, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2007, at Baptist Hospital East. She was a native of Johnson County, KY and a member of Flat Gap Baptist Church, Flat Gap, KY. She formerly worked at Central State Hospital and retired in 1992 from Rice Audubon. Graduated from Flat Gap High School “Class” of 1952, and Mayo State Vocational School. She was a member of Kentucky Public Retirees, a Kentucky Colonel and loved researching family genealogy. She was a very special person and will be missed by family and numerous friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Rexford R. and Bertha Blanton Trimble; a brother, Rexford R. Trimble, Jr., and a sister, Victoria A. Allen. She is survived by a daughter; Vicky Cischke (Dwight), and a son, David Burchett (Sally), 2 grandchildren, Brian Burchett and Adam Cischke, three step-grandchildren and three step-great grandchildren. A sister, Anna Martha Williams (O.D.), Columbus, Ohio, a brother, John H. Trimble (Ruth), Ashland, Ky., 1 niece and 3 nephews. Pallbearers were David Burchett, Brian Burchett, Dan Boone, Dwight Cischke, Adam Cischke, Ralph Spriggs, George Spriggs, John Williams. Walta Lee Preston, 76, wife of Byrd O. Preston, died February 16, 2008. She was born January 4, 1932, to the late Walter & Oena Grimm Daniel of Stambaugh, Ky. She is survived by Son: Byrd O. Preston III and Daughter- in-law, Trish Preston, Phoenix, AZ; and 4 grandchildren. She owned and operated the Peggy Lou Shoppes in Paintsville and Prestonsburg, and Olivers of Paintsville. She is survived by 2 Sons: Larry & Wade Blair both of Berea, Ky.; Sister: Bethel Lowe, Lexington, Ky.; Grandson: Peter and Paul Blair. Preceding her in death is her husband, Samuel Tollie Blair, and a sister, Ruth Salyer, Staffordsville, Ky. She retired from the Johnson County School System as an elementary teacher.
