Arnold Shelby Hazlett, 73, of Prichard, died Thursday in Veterans Administration Medical Center in Huntington.
He was born Feb. 2, 1936, in Prichard.
Surviving are his wife, Sadie F. Saunders Hazlett.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Young Funeral Home in Louisa. Burial will be in Hazlett cemetery in Prichard.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Casey Ryan Copley
(1988-2009)
Casey Ryan Copley, 21, of Route 1, Fort Gay, W.Va., died Sept. 14, 2009, in Cabell Huntington Hospital.
He was born July 25, 1988, in Huntington, W.Va., a son of Larry Rush and Debra Thornsbury Copley of Fort Gay.
He was a heavy-equipment operator with Argus Energy.
Additional survivors include his wife, Brenda McCoy Copley of Fort Gay; a daughter, Jalyn Kay Copley at home; a brother, Larry Andrew Copley of Fort Gay; his maternal grandmother, Ann Thornsbury of Fort Gay; and his paternal grandparents, Rush and Lutie Copley of Fort Gay.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, 2009, at Young Funeral Home in Louisa by the Rev. Grover Jackson and the Rev. Tim Preston. Burial will be in Wellman cemetery in Fort Gay.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Opal “Marie” Brown
(1934-2009)
Opal “Marie” Brown, 74, of Louisa, Ky., passed away Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, in Fair Oaks Hospital in Fairfax, Va.
She was born Oct. 11, 1934, in Dunlow, W.Va., a daughter of the late Ottie Sever and Ruby Parsons Mills.
Prior to retirement, she owned and operated several Dan Tax Offices. She was a faithful and active member of Catalpa Freewill Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and loyal friend who will be missed by many. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Lee Mills; two sons-in-law, William Eugene Reed and William Timothy Cremeans; and grandparents Letha and Willie Mills and Maude and Edward Parsons.
Survivors include her loving husband of 44 years, Johnie Brown of Louisa; three daughters, Glenna Marie Reed of Marysville, Ohio, Marilyn Kaye Cremeans of Catlettsburg, Ky., and Shani Rae Brown of Fairfax; a son, Michael Lee (Roslyn) Moore of Hampton, Va.; three sisters, Loretta Clark of Branchland, W.Va., Patti (Jimmy Clyde) Napier of East Lynn, W.Va., and Kay (Larry) McComas of East Lynn; four brothers, Bill Ed (Louise) Mills of Louisa, Gerald (Loretta) Mills of East Lynn, Dale (Francis) Mills and David (Jeanette) Mills, all of East Lynn; six grandchildren, Tina Marie Reed, Roseanne E. Reed, John Adkins, Ashley Adkins, Andre Boyce and Darin Moore; and 11 great-grandchildren, Johnathan Adkins, Peyton Schaner, Katelyn Adkins, Rosemarie Schaner, Justic Ethan Smith, Nicholas Blake Smith, Rylee Rae Adkins, Baylee Artrip, Kaylee Jolynn Artrip, Dylan Patrick Boyce and William Eugene Reed.
Funeral services will be at noon Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009, at Catalpa Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Cox and Brother Paul Cox officiating.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday at the church.
Young Funeral Home in Louisa is in charge of arrangements.

Janet Faye Burgess, 55, of Louisa, died Saturday in Three Rivers Medical Center.
She was born April 6, 1954, in Paintsville.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Childers cemetery in Richardson.

Stevie Cordle
(1958-2009)
Stevie Cordle, 51, of Fort Gay, W.Va., died Saturday in Hospice of Huntington.
He was born Aug. 28, 1958, in Louisa. He is survived by his wife, Judy Campbele Cordle.

Douglas Hale Jr.
(1955-2009)
Douglas Hale Jr., 54, of Louisa, died Sunday in Lawrence County.
He was born on Jan. 1, 1955 in Louisa. His wife, Anita Debord Hale, survives.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Young Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hale cemetery in Louisa.

Ralph Lyons
(1951-2009)
Ralph Lyons, 58, of Lowmansville, Ky., went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009, following a long illness.
Ralph was born Jan. 26, 1951, in Johnson County, Ky., the son of the late homer and Edna Borders Lyons.
He was a coal miner and sawmill operator.
Survivors include his loving wife, Kay Slone Lyons; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberly and Randy Keeton of Louisa, Ky., and Jennifer and James Maynard of River, Ky.; a son and a daughter-in-law, Michael and Michelle Lyons of Charley, Ky.; five sisters, Alice Jean Rice of Louisa, Sue Keener of Westerville, Ohio, Janet Lyons of Ashland, Ky., Kay Lyons of Charley, Ky., and Debbie Johnson of Flatgap; two brothers, Homer Lee Lyons and Roger Lyons, both of Lowmansville, Ky.; and six grandchildren, Andrew Lyons, Korey Maynard, Laura Keeton, Anna Keeton, Madison Maynard and Emma Keeton.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11 at Walnut Grove Freewill Baptist Church in Lowmansville by Rev. Jimmy Vanhoose, the Rev. Willie Gene Hayes and the Rev. Ric Frazier. Burial will be in Lyons cemetery in Lowmansville.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Wilson Funeral Home in Louisa and from 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. Friday at the church.
Joe Keaton
(1939-2009)
Joe Keaton, 70, of Martha died Saturday at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, W.Va.
He was born Aug. 1, 1939, in Lawrence County, Ky.
His wife, Reda Gillum Keaton, survives.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Elizabeth Baptist Church. burial will be in Keaton Family cemetery at Coal Creek.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Monday and anytime until the service on Tuesday at the church.

Paula Kathryn Adams, 47, of Fort Gay, died Thursday in King’s Daughters Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 31, 1961, in Louisa, Ky.
Her husband, Jerry Adams, survives.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Wilson Funeral Home in Louisa. Burial will be in Jessie Adams cemetery in Georges Creek, Ky.
