DAYTON, Ohio - Larry Evans, 52, of Dayton passed away Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004, at his home. He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Evans; and sister, Jean (Sissy) Evans.
He is survived by his loving wife, Georgett; his mother, Lillian M. Dye and husband John of Eaton; brothers, James L. Evans and wife Barb of Pennsylvania, Daniel L. Evans of Ohio, James Augliaro of Dayton, Gene Helton and wife Lisa of Dayton, Marty Evans of Indiana, Paul Evans of Kentucky; sisters, Dianna G. McCray of Beavercreek and Brenda S. Evans of St. Louis; a son, Steve Pilkington and wife Tracy of Franklin; two daughters, Angel Isaac and husband Ronnie of Dayton and Jonni-Lyn Evans and fiancé Luke of Dayton; stepchildren, Ricky Rutledge of Riverside, Jimmie Rutledge of Riverside, Kathy Rutledge and fiancé Mike of Riverside, and Larry Rutledge of Springboro; and 18 grandchildren. He is also survived by David Miller of Dayton, a lifetime friend and brother whom Larry dearly loved; and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be at 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, at Newcomer-Farley Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, with Pastor Lenny Kelly officiating. Family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until time of service.
John Lee Duckworth

John Lee Duckworth, 78, of 105 E. 20th St., Owensboro, died Monday, Aug. 30, 2004, at Thompson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore. He retired in 1991 from Eck Miller Transportation, was a member of Zion United Church of Christ and was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Duckworth; two daughters, Gail Prewitt and Carolyn Sue Guier; and a brother, Joseph A. Duckworth.
Graveside services: Noon Saturday at Elmwood cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation: From 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at James H. Davis Funeral Home in Owensboro.
Roger Glen Bard Sr.

GREENVILLE - Roger Glen Bard Sr., 50, of 108 Elm St., in Greenville died Thursday morning, Sept. 2, 2004, at 3:50 a.m. at his home after a short illness. He was born Jan. 21, 1954, in Muhlenberg County, the son of William Emanuel Bard and Jessie Lee Hawkins Bard. He was an operator for Texas Gas Co. for 31 years. He was a member of New Mount Zion Baptist Church in Depoy. He was a licensed auctioneer for 20 years, a member of Muhlenberg County Fair Board for 11 years, a member of Muhlenberg County Children's Fund for 12 years, a member of Ducks Unlimited and a member of the Democratic Executive Committee. He was also a Kentucky Colonel.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon, Sept. 4, at 1 p.m. from Second Baptist Church in Greenville, by the Rev. Earl Hocker and the Rev. Terrance Minor. Burial will be in the Old Unity cemetery in Graham.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Linda Kay Gott Bard of Greenville; a daughter, Tori Lynette Bard of Greenville; two sons, Roger Glen (Brandi) Bard Jr. and James William (Carrie) Bard, all of Greenville; three granddaughters, Chantel, Chandler and Brooklynn; a grandson, James Allen; five brothers, John Richard Bard of Depoy and Russell Bard, Clarence Bard, Larry Bard and Claude Bard, all of Greenville; three sisters, Imogene Phipps of Drakesboro, Phyllis Boyd of Greenville and Rita Tidwell of Depoy; an uncle, Junior Hawkins of Greenville; and several aunts.
Friends may call today, Sept. 3, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Second Baptist Church in Greenville and Saturday, Sept. 4, after 11 a.m. Contributions can be made to Muhlenberg County Children's Fund. Envelopes will be available at the church. Gary's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

CALVERT CITY - Martha Ann Elliott, 66, of Calvert City died at 11:58 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004, at Western Baptist Hospital.
She is survived by her father, Blue Hayward Robertson of Owensboro; one son, Mark Elliott and his wife Rhonda of Plainfield, Ind.; three daughters, Tonie Ann Johnson and her husband Tom of Las Vegas, Christina Daily and her husband Danny of Calvert City and Destiny Sue Elliott of Owensboro; five sisters, Nancy Uhde of Owensboro; Bunnie Flemming of Evansville, Cathy Robertson of Harker Heights, Texas, Debbie Turner of Owensboro and Janet Miller of Lebrum; three brothers, Steve Robertson of Owensboro, Richard Robertson of Evansville and Paul Robertson of Owensboro; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Herchel Elliott; and her mother, Elizabeth Ann Payne Robertson.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 5, 2004, at Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home in Benton. Father Mark Buckner will officiate. Friends may call from 5 until 9 p.m. today at Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home. Prayers will be at 6 p.m. today at Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home.
Desi R. Ford

ISLAND - Desi R. Ford, 50, of Island died Friday, Sept. 3, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was a supervisor at Livermore Industrial Plating Co. and a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Lisa Ford; two daughters, India Ford and Tiffany Knight; a brother, Bill Ford; and two sisters, Betty Jean Garris and Shelia Dalton.

HARDINSBURG - Mollie Lee Morris, 93, of Medco Center in Hardinsburg died Friday, Sept. 3, 2004, at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital. She was a housewife and a member of Custer Church of God.
Survivors include a son, Orbey Morris.

Eugene D. Myles

WINCHESTER - Eugene D. Myles, 77, of 104 Milwood Drive, Winchester, husband of Edith Bowles Myles, died at 8 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, 2004, at St. Joseph Hospice Care Center in Lexington.
A native of Daviess County, he was the son of the late Leo Blackburn and Elizabeth Daly Myles. He was retired from BellSouth and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and the First United Methodist Church. He was a Navy veteran.
Additional survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen Carl Myers and Anne Schudy of Carbondale, Colo.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. EDT Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church in Winchester by the Rev. James Williams. Burial will be in Fernwood cemetery in Henderson.
Friends may call after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
Edgington-Taylor Funeral Home, Winchester is in charge of arrangements.

GREENVILLE - Cleo Morton Vincent, 86, of Greenville died there Friday, Sept. 3, 2004, at Belle Meade Nursing Home. He had worked at Glenmore Distilleries in Owensboro on the bottling line.
Survivors include three sisters, Mara Vincent, Dolores Prowse and Chauncey Hammond.
Services are private. Private burial: Greens Chapel cemetery in Greenville. Tucker Funeral Home in Central City is in charge of arrangements.
Brownie Welborn

CENTRAL CITY - Brownie Welborn, 80, of Central City died Friday, Sept. 3, 2004, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. He was born in Muhlenberg County, was a retired coal miner, a member of the United Mine Workers of America and a member of the Pentecostals of Muhlenberg Church in Central City.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie Miller Welborn of Central City; four sons, Ricky Welborn, Tommy Welborn and Freddie Welborn, all of Central City, and Jackie Welborn of Louisville; a daughter, Shirley Withrow of Florence; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lucille Miller of Central City.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Pentecostals of Muhlenberg Church in Central City. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery in Central City. Visitation will be today after 5 p.m. and Sunday after 8 a.m. at Tucker Funeral Home, 113 North Third St., Central City. Mr. Welborn will lie in state on Sunday from 1 until 2 p.m. at the Pentecostals of Muhlenberg Church.
Margie Humphrey Bruce

GREENVILLE - Margie Humphrey Bruce, 88, of Greenville died Friday at her residence. She was born in Muhlenberg County, was a member of the Mount Pisgah Baptist Church in Bremen and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Jay Bruce; two sons, Donnie Bruce and Ronnie Bruce; and a daughter, Jo Ann Dexter.
Survivors include her son, Charles W. "Billy" Bruce of Greenville; ten grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Charles Humphrey of Central City.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial will be in Mount Pisgah cemetery in Bremen. Visitation will be today from 5 to 7 p.m. and Monday after 8 a.m. at the funeral home.
