Thomas H. Norris

REYNOLDS STATION - Thomas H. Norris, 73, of Reynolds Station died Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at his residence. He was born in Ohio County on March 5, 1931, to the late Joseph Norris and the late Cora Lee Midkiff Norris. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Robert, James, Allen Ray, John and Walter Norris; and two sisters, Laura Norris and Florence Kirk. He retired from Dunaway Timber Co. and was a deacon at Friendship Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Sadie Foreman Norris; four daughters, Linda (and Douglas) Ratliff of Owensboro, Marilyn Diana (and Jim) Peck of Fordsville, Deborah (and Carlos) Lamb of Nortonville and Loretta Kay Norris of Reynolds Station; and five grandchildren, Stephanie and Jarrod Ratliff and Kristin, Daryl "D.J." and Tommy Peck.
Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 29, at Cecil Funeral Home in Whitesville. Burial will be in Cates cemetery in Whitesville. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Geneva Mae Ambrose

Geneva Mae Ambrose, 74, of 2324 Georgia Lane, Owensboro, died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born Sept. 7, 1928, to the late Porter and Iva Greene in Daviess County. She was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church, retired from Daviess County Vocational School and was a dealer of antique dolls and glassware at Consumer Mall. She was raised at Kentucky Baptist Children's Home, graduated from Cumberland College and was a loving mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Smith Wallace Ambrose, who died Nov. 7, 1993; and two brothers, Delbert and Gerald Greene.
Survivors include two sons, Doug and his wife, Sharon, Ambrose and Steve Ambrose, all of Owensboro; six grandchildren, Stephanie Draper, Andrea, Matt and Ben Ambrose, Angel Nichols and Natalie Ambrose; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lois and her husband, Norris, Whitaker of Owensboro.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home, with entombment in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. James L. Burns

James L. Burns, 71, of Owensboro died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born in Daviess County on Nov. 27, 1932, to the late Fred Ivan and Golda (Taylor) Burns. He attended Sutherland School, was a 1952 graduate of Daviess County High School and received a bachelor of science degree in agriculture from Western Kentucky University. He was a tank commander in the U.S. Army, serving stateside during the Korean conflict. He started farming in April 1964 with his brother, Rodney Burns. While growing up, he was a member of Panther Creek Church. While in college he attended First Baptist Church and later joined Eastwood Baptist Church in Bowling Green in 1955, where he was ordained a deacon and was a trustee and usher for several years. He joined Third Baptist Church in Owensboro in 1964, where he was also an usher. He was a NASCAR fan, restored toy tractors and was a member of the TNT tractor pulling organization for more than 20 years. He was a Kentucky Colonel. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Billy Burns, Fred Taylor Burns, Cecil Rodney Burns and Ben Allen Burns.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Sue Mayhugh Burns; two sons, Drew Alan Burns and wife, Carol, and Scott Taylor Burns, all of Owensboro; a daughter, Beth Ann Yochum and husband, Brian, of Richmond, Va.; and four grandchildren, Ellen Burns, James D. Burns, Katherine Yochum and Will Yochum.
Services are at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 3, at Third Baptist Church in Owensboro. Burial is in Elmwood cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 1 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at James H. Davis Funeral Home in Owensboro. ISLAND - Francisco "Kit" Corpus, 54, of Island died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2004, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. He was a quality technician for the Lear Corp. of Madisonville.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Corpus; five daughters, Inez Montibon, Mia Corpus, Katrina Corpus, Pamela Corpus and Lesley Corpus; a stepdaughter, Stacy Watts; a stepson, Brandon Watts; two brothers, Toribio Corpus Jr. and Dr. Roberto Corpus; and two sisters, Carmen Elevado and Lyn Corpus.

Grace Aull Gillim, 73, of 1205 Leitchfield Road, Owensboro, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born Aug. 3, 1931, in Owensboro to the late Jerome and Artie (Ezell) Woods. She retired from American Olean Tile Co. and was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church. She was active in March of Dimes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Gillim.
Survivors include the father of her children, Ray Vincent "Pete" Aull of Owensboro; two daughters, Judy (Richard) Brown and Belinda (Ronald L.) Blair, both of Owensboro; four sons, Gregory Wayne Aull, Robert "Bobby" Aull, Dennis R. Aull and Thomas L. Aull, all of Owensboro; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services are at 11 a.m. today, Sept. 2, at James H. Davis Funeral Home chapel in Owensboro. Burial is in Elmwood cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is after 9 a.m. today at the funeral home. Gloria A. Huntington, 74, of Lee Manor Apartments, 1651 W. 4th St., Owensboro, died Saturday, Aug. 28, 2004, at her home. She attended Walnut Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Collis Huntington and Johnathan Huntington; a daughter, Evelyn Herrell; and a sister, Shirley Beam.

DAWSON SPRINGS - Kimberly Ann Johnson, 31, of Dawson Pointe Nursing Home, Dawson Springs, formerly of Wendell Foster's Campus for Developmental Disabilities, died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. She was born April 3, 1973, to David and Nancy Johnson in Peru, Ind. She graduated from Seven Hills School in 1993 and was a member of the Catholic faith. She was raised with tender loving care by her paternal grandparents for 23 years before going to the Wendell Foster Center. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mary "Judy" Johnson, who died in 1999; and her mother, Nancy Johnson, who died in 2003.
Survivors include her grandfather, Frank "Jiggs" Johnson of Owensboro; her father, David Johnson of Warren, Ohio; her guardian, Dr. Carol Hulsey of Philpot; two aunts, Brenda Morris of Calhoun and Barbara Hostetler of Peru; her uncle, Bruce Johnson of Owensboro; a sister, Pam of Warren; several cousins; and many friends.
Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday at Immaculate Catholic Church, with burial in Calhoun cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today and after 11 a.m. Friday at Glenn Funeral Home. GREENVILLE - Ann Pauline Maurer, 88, of Greenville died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville after a lengthy illness. She was a retired factory worker.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol Jean Smith; and a brother, John Seckar.
Services are private. Gary's Funeral Home in Greenville is in charge of arrangements.

LOUISVILLE - Randall Lee Thomson Jr., six-month-old infant son of Randall Lee and Heather Estes Thomson of Louisville, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2004, at Kosair Children's Hospital from injuries suffered in a house fire.
Other survivors include three brothers, Jonathan Alexander, Austin Matthew and his twin brother, Anthony Joseph; two sisters, Alyssa Dawn and Morgan Elizabeth; his grandparents, Janice and Cecil "Butch" Thomson of Owensboro, Jonell and Jay Coffey of Louisville and Anthony Estes of Owensboro; his great-grandparents, Lydia Alma Broadley of Owensboro and Vaughn Thomson of Largo, Fla.; several aunts and uncles, Mickey and Brenda Thomson, Lori and Steve Zoglmann, Nancy and Harland Best and Tyler Estes, all of Owensboro; and cousins, Emily, Allison and Tyler Zoglmann, Michael, Mary Jessica, Ryan and Kayla Thomson, Tammy, Hershel, Ryan and Derek Morgan, all of Owensboro.
Graveside services are at 2 p.m. Friday at Babyland in Elmwood cemetery in Owensboro, with burial in Elmwood cemetery. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from noon to 1:45 p.m. Friday at James H. Davis Funeral Home in Owensboro. A memorial fund has been established at Fifth Third Bank.

Jess G. Woodward, 91, of Philpot died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004, at Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Bowling Green, a former service station operator and a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Chandler.

Raymond Joseph Fulkerson

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Raymond Joseph Fulkerson of Knoxville, a native of Owensboro, died Monday, Aug. 30, 2004, at St. Marys Hospital. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where he served as chair of the parish council administration committee. He retired as general manager for Sherwood Memorial Gardens. He was a member of the Pre-Internment Association of America and National cemetery Association and served for many years on the board of directors for cemetery Association of Tennessee. He was a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Eleanora Fulkerson; and a son-in-law, Bruce Allender.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Armstrong Fulkerson of Knoxville; a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Gwen Fulkerson of Corydon; daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Lamar Wilson and Mary Faye Allender, all of Knoxville, and Angela and John Hayes of Gallatin, Tenn.; two brothers, Preston and Thomas Fulkerson, both of Owensboro; a sister, Mary Stallings of Henderson; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with the Rev. James A. Haley, Csp., officiating, with entombment following at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Scott Fulkerson, Ray Fulkerson, Matt Fulkerson, John Wilson, John Hayes IV, Philip Hayes and Joey Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will be George Willard, George Pierce, Dennis Lindquist and the Rev. Walter Willis. The family requests memorials be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 414 W. Vine Ave., Knoxville, TN 37902 or Magnolia Avenue United Methodist Church, 2700 East Magnolia Ave., Knoxville, TN 37914.
