Mrs. Mamie Margaret Hines, 83, of Utica, died Saturday, April 7 at the Carmel Home. A native of Clifty, KY, She was a homemaker and member of the St Anthony Catholic Church. She enjoyed arts and crafts and fishing and had modeled clothing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James T. Hines, Sr., in 1996
She is survived by 3 sons, James T. Hines, Jr., of Utica, William Darrell Hines of Beaver Dam, and Dr. Kenneth E. Hines of Lawrenceburg, KY, 2 daughters, Barbara J. Grace of Utica, and Linda Carol Kolar of Owensboro, 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren, and a sister, Dorothy A. Kirby of Calhoun.
Funeral services are Tuesday, April 10 at 10 A.M. at St Anthony Catholic Church with entombment in Resurrection cemetery. Friends may call at the Glenn Funeral Home from 2-8 P.M. Monday and after 8:30 A.M., Tuesday. Parrish prayers will be at 6:30 P.M. Monday.

Mr. David Philip Smeathers, 88, of Lewisport, died Sunday, April 8 at the Hermitage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Owensboro. The Daviess County native was a retired farmer.
He was preceded in death by his wife Juanita Brown Smeathers in 2000.
He is survived by a daughter, Linda Frakes of Reynolds Station , a granddaughter and 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral services are 11:30 A.M., Wednesday, April 11, at the Peace Chapel, Rosehill cemetery with burial following. Friends may call at the Glenn Funeral Home from 10-11 A.M. Wednesday.

Lou Nell Alexander, 51, of 818 Jackson Street, Owensboro, died Tuesday, July 10, 2001, at Riverside Manor Nursing Home in Calhoun. She was born in Owensboro, KY September 1, 1949 the daughter Randall Earl and Clara Saunders Alexander. She was preceded in death by her father, Randall Alexander; a brother, Charles Alexander and a sister, Beverly Ahten.
She was a member of 10th Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include her companion, Carlenen Crite, Sr. of Owensboro; a daughter, Clara Louise Crite of Owensboro; her mother, Clara Mae Alexander of Owensboro; two brothers, Donnie Alexander and Randall Alexander, both of Owensboro; a sister, Shirlene Simmons of Owensboro; and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2001 at 10th Street Baptist Church in Owensboro, officiated by Reverend Willie Grubbs. Burial will follow in Iron Ore Hill cemetery in Daviess County. Her family will receive friends at Glenn Funeral Home form 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Rev. Elmer Ray Alvey, 80, of Owensboro, died Monday, January 7, 2002 at his residence. The Daviess County native was retired from Baskin-Robbins and had pastored the Full Gospel Tabernacle Church for over 40 years. He enjoyed gardening.
Surving is his wife of 61 years, Anna Gaddis Alvey; a daughter, Kathy Wilson of Calhoun; four sons, Rev. Bill Alvey, Charles Alvey, and Doug Alvey all of Owenbsoro, and Rev. Tim Alvey of Dale, IN; a brother, Rev. Bobby Alvey of Madisonville; 20 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 6 nieces and 6 nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patsy Roach in 2000.
Funeral services are 1 P.M. Thursday, January 10, 2002 at the Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Rosehill cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral from from 2-8 on Wednesday and after 9 A.M on Thursday.

Muriel C. Allen, 80, of Owenbsoro, died Friday, March 22, 2002 at Hillcrest Health Care Center.
The Daviess County native was retired from General Electric. She was a member of the Peoples Baptist Church and loved her family and NASCAR.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, James Russell Allen in April 2001.
She is survived by three daughters, Nellie A. Rhoades of Godfrey, IL, Betty Powers of Seminole, FL, and Linda Camron of Owensboro; three grandsons; three granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.

Shirley Evans Aldridge, 67, of 710 Daviess Street, Owensboro, died Wednesday, March 27, 2002 at her home. She was born September 22, 1934 in Ohio County, Kentucky the daughter of Palmer and Della Edge Evans. Her husband, George Ervin Aldridge, preceded her in death on August 5, 1989.
She was a homemaker and a former receptionist at American Red Cross in Owensboro. She was a member of Good Shepherd Church and enjoyed gospel music, attending church and spending time with her family.
Survivors include two sons, Gale Aldridge and Keith Aldridge, both of Owensboro; two granddaughters; a great-grandson; two brothers, Gilbert Evans of Bells Run and Rondie Evans of Philpot; and a sister, Mary Finley of Whitesville.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2002 at Good Shepherd Church. Burial will follow in Bells Run cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2002 and from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home.

Patricia Ann Allen, 49, of 1204 Hathaway St, Owensboro, died Saturday, May 11, 2002 at the Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Daviess County native was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Phillip "Pudge" Allen; three daughters, Tammy Beaver, Penny Pendleton and April Allen all of Owensboro; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Floyd Rusher of Louisville, Thomas Huskisson of Owensboro, and Raymond "Bub" Huskisson of Gulfport, MS; and two sisters, Linda Barrentine of Keller, TX and Georgia Blan of Louisville.

Everett J. "Buddy" Beers, 89, of Thomson-Hood Veterans Center, Wilmore, KY, formerly of Owensboro, died Sunday, May 12 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Lexington, KY. He was preceded in death by his wife, Xenia Hunt Beers November 19, 1996.
Mr. Beers retired as a hardware salesman; graduated from the University of Kentucky; and was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity, First Presbyterian Church where he had served as a deacon, elder, Sunday School teacher and was an Army veteran of World War II having served in Normandy.
Survivors include two daughters, Ruth Anne Boklage of Louisville and Amanda Howard of Goshen, 4 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be 10 A.M. Saturday, June 22, 2002 in the chapel of First Presbyterian Church.
