Judy O'Nan McDonald, 56, of Owensboro, died Friday, March 29, 2002, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. She was a member of Corydon Christian Church and enjoyed spending time with family.
Survivors include two daughters, Krista McDonald of Corydon and Jodi Rafferty of Owensboro; two grandchildren; her mother, Dorothy O'Nan of Corydon; a brother, Gary O'Nan of Shelbyville; two sisters, twin Jean Barnes and Nancy Love, both of Henderson; and nephews and nieces.
Services are pending at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home in Henderson.
Jess M. Buckner

Jess M. Buckner, 88, of Philpot died Saturday, March 23, 2002, at his home. The Zalma, Mo., native retired as a rancher and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and Quarter Horse Association. He was preceded in death by his wife, Celesta Buckner, on Sept. 10, 2000; and two sons, Ernest Lee Buckner, on Dec. 21, 1983, and Troy Lee Buckner, on Dec. 28, 1999.
Survivors include a son, John Leonard of Jay, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services are at 1 p.m. Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery in Daviess County. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Gilbert B. Barnes

BEAVER DAM - Gilbert B. Barnes, 85, of Beaver Dam died Sunday, March 24, 2002, at Beaver Dam Health Care Manor. The Ohio County native retired from Young Manufacturing Company in Beaver Dam. He was a carpenter and member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Hallie Cox Barnes; a daughter, Barbara Black of Beaver Dam; two brothers, W.L. "Bill" Barnes and James Barnes, both of Hartford; a sister, Lucille Daniel of Louisville; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Graveside services are at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Sunnyside cemetery in Beaver Dam. William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam is in charge of arrangements.
Ardith Ruth Gross

KENT CITY, Mich. - Ardith Ruth Gross, 79, of Kent City died Friday, March 22, 2002, at Metropolitan Hospital in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Clifford Gross Sr.; two sons, Clifford Gross of Owensboro and Ronald Gross of Ewen, Mich.; two daughters, Sharon Benoit of Rockford, Mich., and Judith Gotwalt of Rockford, Mich.; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Arland Frederick and Don Frederick, both of Reed City, Mich.; and several nephews and nieces.
Services are at 11 a.m. EST Tuesday at Hessel-Cheslek Funeral Home in Sparta, Mich. Burial will be in Idlewild cemetery in Kent City. Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice of Michigan.

LEVY COUNTY, Fla. - Theresa Louise Morris, 43, of Levy County was declared legally dead. She had been missing since August 1984. The Daviess County native was a Catholic and enjoyed sewing, gardening and canning.
Survivors include two daughters, Marty Gail Morris of Owensboro and Amanda Louise Morris of Bowling Green; her parents, James and Margaret Wootton Edge of Whitesville; a nephew and several nieces; and several uncles and aunts.
Memorial services are at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Whitesville. Cecil Funeral Home in Whitesville is in charge of arrangements.
Opal Velma Anderson

CENTRAL CITY - Opal Velma Anderson, 82, of Central City died Friday, March 29, 2002, at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville. The Pike County, Ind., native was a homemaker and a member of Crossing Holiness Church in Central City. She enjoyed homemaking, fishing with her husband and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Anderson; two sons, Earl Wayne Anderson and Mitchell Anderson; and a daughter, Teresa Kay Anderson.
Survivors include four sons, David Anderson of South Carrollton, Jackie Anderson and Elmer Anderson, both of Central City, and Doug Anderson of Bremen; four daughters, Retta Nofsinger, Sharon Garrett and Donna Eaves, all of Central City, and Della Garrett of Bremen; 31 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bernard Beadles and Bob Beadles, both of Indiana; and five sisters, Dorothy Curry of Arizona and Mary Bellimey, Fern Mulleins, Virginia Kerby and Josephine Wilber, all of Indiana.
Services are at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery in Central City. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Raymond J. Morris

Raymond J. Morris, 69, of 1835 W. 7th St., Owensboro, died Monday, March 11, 2002, at his home. The Daviess County native retired from Owensboro Brick and Tile Co. after 30 years as a truck driver, was a member of Full Gospel Tabernacle and enjoyed gardening, going to church and gospel music. A son, Wayne Morris, died in 2000.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Nellie Morris; two sons, Timmy Morris of Lewisport and Tom Morris of Owensboro; two daughters, Sheila Kelley and Mary Lucille Underwood, both of Owensboro; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Clifton Morris of Owensboro.

Lena Bethel Jolly, 77, of 1752 Mohawk Drive, Owensboro, died Sunday, March 31, 2002, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville. The Muhlenberg County native was a member of Crosspointe Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, traveling and spending time with family. Her husband, Douglas L. Jolly, died April 8, 1981.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Hawley of Lachine, Mich., and Kerri Nance of Frankfort; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Boyce Bethel of Owensboro.
Services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at James H. Davis Funeral Home chapel in Owensboro. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Ethelena "Polly" W. Holbrook, 70, of Owensboro died Saturday, March 23, 2002, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Daviess County native was a member of St. Paul AME Church in Owensboro. She enjoyed crafts, sewing and spending time with family.
Survivors include her husband, Otha Holbrook; two sons, Michael Chilton of Owensboro and James Richard Chilton of Napia, Idaho; two stepdaughters, Carol Hatchett and Monique Moorman, both of Owensboro; six grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard Wimsatt of Clarksville, Tenn.; a sister, Mammie Wallace of Louisville; several nephews and nieces; and a cousin.
Services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul AME Church in Owensboro. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. McFarland's Funeral Home in Owensboro is handling arrangements.

Zelma Glasscock Stone, 91, formerly of the Roosevelt House, Owensboro, died Wednesday, March 13, 2002, at Hermitage Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. The Breckinridge County native was a housewife and a Methodist. She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Stone; and three daughters, Helen Glasscock, Elnora Ashcraft and Norma Basham.
Survivors include two sons, C.L. Glasscock of Taylorsville and Leroy Glasscock of Owensboro; 19 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Edna Haire and Cova Smith, both of Illinois.
Services are at 11 a.m. Friday at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home in Hardinsburg. Burial will be in Ivy Hill cemetery in Hardinsburg. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today and after 8:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Glenn Smith, 86, of Owensboro died Tuesday, April 2, 2002, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Oklahoma native retired from National Molasses as an engineer, was a member of Southeast Baptist Church and enjoyed model planes and sports.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Lorene Stallings Smith; three sons, the Rev. Randy Stallings of Owensboro, Joey Stallings of Lewisport and David Stallings of Fruitland, Idaho; seven daughters, Sharon Myers of Beaverton, Ore., Judi Whitney and Linda McMahan, both of Owensboro, Janet Rotharmel of California, Maria Majors of Louisville, Paula Cambron of Chandler, Ariz., and Mary Jane May of Aloha, Ore.; 32 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
Services are at 2 p.m. Friday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be in Rosehill cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is after noon Friday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Southeast Baptist Church Building Fund.
