HARDINSBURG - Theresa Henning, 66, of Hardinsburg died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2001, at Hospice and Palliative Care of Louisville. The Breckinridge County native was a care giver, member of St. Romuald Catholic Church and a 1955 graduate of Breckinridge County High School.
Survivors include a son, Raymond Bland of Falls of Rough; two daughters, Martha Jean Mattingly of Louisville and Wanda Carwile of McDaniels; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Charles H. Henning and Earl Henning, both of Hardinsburg, and Bobby Henning of McDaniels; and several nephews and nieces.
Services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Romuald Catholic Church in Hardinsburg. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home in Hardinsburg. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to St. Romuald School.
Geneva Pearl Embry

Geneva Pearl Embry, 88, of 3030 Daviess St., Owensboro, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2001, at her son's home in Owensboro. The Butler County native was a member of Community Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband, Artie Embry Sr., on Nov. 9, 1988; and three sons, Willie Embry on Dec. 3, 1936, Willard Embry on Nov. 17, 1962, and Boyd Embry on Jan. 19, 2001.
Survivors include a son, Artie Embry Jr. of Owensboro; a daughter, Lucille Goetz of Philpot; eight grandchildren; several stepgrandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; several stepgreat-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several stepgreat-great-grandchildren; a half-brother, Hobert Smith of Wooster, Ohio; three half-sisters, Eula Willis of Leitchfield, Dorothy Willis of Braidwood, Ill., and Lorene M. Mothey of Apache Junction, Ariz.; and several nephews and nieces.
Services are at 10 a.m. Monday at James H. Davis Funeral Home in Owensboro. Graveside services are at noon Monday at Isaiah Evans cemetery in Butler County. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Earl Gardner Pyle

Earl Gardner Pyle, 76, of 8349 U.S. 60 West, Owensboro, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2001. He retired from the Navy as a commander and was a retired high school principal. He was a Presbyterian, a member of the No-Name Club and enjoyed collecting coins.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, June Pyle; a son, Cameron E. Pyle of Owensboro; two grandsons; three nephews; and four nieces.
Memorial services are pending. The body was cremated. Baldwin-Fairchild Cemeteries & Funeral Homes, Inc. in Orlando, Fla., was in charge of arrangements.
Carl E. Whitmer

BREMEN - Carl E. Whitmer, 74, of Bremen died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2001, at Spark Nursing Center in Central City. The Muhlenberg County native was a saw mill worker. He was preceded in death by a son, Tony Whitmer.
Survivors include three sons, Jeff Whitmer of Bremen, Greg Whitmer of Central City and Wayne Whitmer of St. Charles, Ill.; two daughters, Sandra Wilson of Central City and Tabitha Hester of Beaver Dam; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services are at 10 a.m. Friday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial will be in Wilcox cemetery near Central City. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

CLOVERPORT - Hazel Powers, 84, of Cloverport died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001, at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital. The McQuady native was a member of Cloverport Baptist Church.
Survivors include a sister, Edna Claycomb of Cloverport; and several nephews and nieces.
Services are at 2 p.m. Friday at Cloverport Baptist Church. Burial will be in Cloverport cemetery. Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Wallace Funeral Home in Cloverport.

LEESBURG, Va. - Margaret Gehlbach Craun, 57, of Leesburg died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2001, at Loudoun (Va.) Hospital Center. The Ottawa, Ill., native was a teacher at Loudoun County Public Schools and a member of Leesburg United Methodist Church. She was a member of Asburg Sunday school class, Every Citizen Has Opportunity and Alpha Delta Kappa.
Survivors include her husband, James W. Craun; a daughter, Jennifer Leigh Osborne of Leesburg; two stepdaughters, Christine Craun of Atlanta and Wendolyn V. Craun of Orlando, Fla.; her mother, Emma M. Gehlbach of Henderson; two brothers, Ralph E. Gehlbach of Denton, Texas, and Richard D. Gehlbach of Lexington; two sisters, Jane M. Perkins of Hawesville and Ruth G. Blakeman of Owensboro; and nine nephews and nieces.
Services are at 4 p.m. EDT Wednesday at Leesburg United Methodist Church. There is no visitation. Colonial Funeral Home in Leesburg is in charge of arrangements. BEAVER DAM - Loraine Raymer Warren, 64, of Beaver Dam died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Butler County native was a housewife and member of Church of Christ at Beaver Dam. Her first husband, Lucian Raymer, died Aug. 13, 1984.
Survivors include her husband, Ralph Warren Sr.; two sons, Steven Raymer and Dan Raymer, both of Beaver Dam; a stepson, Ralph Warren Jr. of Owensboro; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Odell Lindsey of Owensboro; and two sisters, Corine Pinkston of Owensboro and Daisy Kellems of Illinois.
Services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Burial will be in Sunnyside cemetery in Beaver Dam. Visitation is from 4 to 9 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

HARTFORD - Kenneth Tice Daugherty Sr., 57, of Hartford died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2001, at his home. The Wooster, Ohio, native retired from construction and was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Beaver Dam. He was preceded in death by a son, Bennie Joe Daugherty, in 1972; and a daughter, Jennifer Pearlene Daugherty, in 1988.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Pearl Daugherty; a son, Kenneth Tice Daugherty Jr. of Hartford; three grandchildren; three brothers, Joyce Ray Daugherty of Hartford, Randolph "Doc" Daugherty of Morgantown and Junior P. Daugherty of Bloomington, Ind.; and two sisters, Vera Daugherty of Horse Branch and Myrl Macey of Bloomington.
Services are at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery in Ohio County. Visitation is from 4 to 9 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Lucy Vernette Coleman Coomes, 87, of Leisure Years Nursing Home, Owensboro, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Louisville native retired as co-owner of Netty-Joe Trailer Sales and was a member of First Baptist Church for more than 60 years. She enjoyed golf, camping and spending winters in Florida. She enjoyed making things with sea shells, pictures and animal planters. Her husband, Joseph Edward Coomes, died Dec. 7, 1998.
Survivors include two nephews; four nieces; and several great-nephews and great-nieces.
Services are at 3 p.m. Wednesday at James H. Davis Funeral Home in Owensboro. Burial will be in Rosehill cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Anna 'Annie' Johnson

CENTRAL CITY - Anna "Annie" Johnson, 83, of Central City died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001, at NLDC Health Care in Madisonville. The Muhlenberg County native was a homemaker and member of Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oval Johnson, in 1989; and two sons, J.L. Johnson and James E. Johnson.
Survivors include three daughters, Dean Justice of Madisonville, Margaret Wood of Central City and Carolyn Curren of La Mesa, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Linda Adler and Corrine Higgenbotham, both of Evansville.
Services are at 1 p.m. Friday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial will be in Fairmount cemetery in Central City. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Nancy P. Elder, 93, of 5735 Alvey Bridge Road, Owensboro, died Friday, Oct. 12, 2001, at Hermitage Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Owensboro. The Daviess County was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and crocheting.
Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Joseph A. Elder; five sons, William J. Elder, George E. Elder, Robert E. Elder, James R. Elder and Larry F. Elder, all of Owensboro; four daughters, Martha H. Peters of Bowling Green, Shirley Rushing of Owensboro, Nancy Sorg and Rebecca L. Mills, both of Lexington; 29 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, May Delle Millay of Owensboro.
Services are at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Peter cemetery in Stanley. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Monday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home. Prayers will be said at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
