BREMEN -- Helen Beatrice McCay Divine Hawes, 82, of Bremen died Wednesday, May 30, 2001, at her home. The Muhlenberg County native was a member of Mount Pigsah Baptist Church and choir and was past president of Muhlenberg County Baptist Association WMU. She was co-owner of Divine Lumber Co., and a graduate of Graham High School.
Survivors include her husband Andre L. Hawes; a son, Norman D. Divine of Central City; three daughters, Monna Fay Hayes of Sacramento, Linda D. Heltsley of Bremen and Nedra J. Divine of Greenville; a stepson, Andre L. "Andy" Hawes Jr. of Greenville; three stepdaughters, Mary Fields of Central City, Jo Ann Whitaker of Bremen and Vanessa Rule of Pembroke; 19 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Pigsah Baptist Church in Bremen. Burial will be in Mount Pigsah cemetery in Bremen. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. The body will lie in state from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.

KNOTTSVILLE -- Barbara Jean Robbins, 60, of Knottsville died there Thursday, May 24, 2001, at her home. The Tarentum, Pa., native was a member of St. William's Catholic Church in Knottsville and enjoyed spending time with her children and family, playing bunco and bingo and working in her garden.
Survivors include three sons, James Robbins of Owensboro, Kevin Robbins of Quartz Hill, Calif., and Joseph Robbins of Lancaster, Calif.; two daughters, Deanna Robbins of Hendersonville, Tenn., and Denise Huff of Maceo; 11 grandchildren; and a sister, Joann Truffa of Chefwick, Pa.
Memorial services are at 1 p.m. Monday at St. William's Catholic Church in Knottsville. Burial will be in St. William's cemetery. Visitation is from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro. Prayers will be said at 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to St. William's Catholic Church.
Richard Lee Timberlake

HARDINSBURG -- Richard Lee Timberlake, 62, of Hardinsburg died Friday, May 25, 2001, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. The Tell City, Ind., native retired from Meade County RECC in Hardinsburg in 2001 and was a Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Alvey TImberlake; two sons, Richard Timberlake of McQuady and Vernon Timberlake of Owensboro; a daughter, Lisa Timberlake of Hardinsburg; five grandchildren; and a half sister, Joann Scott of Indiana.
Services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home in Tell City. Burial will be in New Hope cemetery in Newtonville, Ind. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home in Hardinsburg and from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home.
Altie Mae Daugherty

HARTFORD -- Altie Mae Daugherty, 90, of Centertown died Friday, May 18, 2001, at Ohio County Hospital in Hartford. The Butler County native was a member of Liberty Lighthouse Church of God and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harrison C. Daugherty, in 1970; and a son, Harrison C. Daugherty Jr., in 1971.
Survivors include a son, Freeman Daugherty of Hartford; three daughters, Lenora Daugherty of Centertown, Virginia Brooks of Taylorville, Ill., and Beth Parrish of Hartford; 18 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Essie Lawrence of Brooklyn and Rachel Goff and Helen Henderson, both of Cromwell.
Services are at 2 p.m. Monday at Liberty Lighthouse Church of God in Hartford. Burial will be in Centertown cemetery. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today after 9 a.m. Monday at Duke-Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Hartford.

HARNED -- Carol Sue Glenn, 56, of Harned died there Tuesday, May 29, 2001, at her home. The Illinois native was a housewife and member of Kingswood Wesleyan Church.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Glenn; two sons, Guy Glenn of Westview and Chad Glenn of Hardinsburg; two daughters, Donna Whitfill and Tessa O' Donoghue, both of Harned; six grandchildren; a stepmother, Ann Shaw of Hardinsburg; two brothers, Wayne Shaw of Hardinsburg and Jeff Shaw of Falls of Rough; and a sister, Lee Ann Shaw of Hardinsburg.
Services are at 11 a.m. Friday at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home in Hardinsburg. Burial will be in Kingswood cemetery in Harned. Visitation is from 4:30 to 8 p.m. today and after 8:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

KETTERING, Ohio -- Sarah "Jane" E. Miller Jenks, 102, of Kettering died Tuesday, May 22, 2001, at Lincoln Park Manor after a brief illness. She was an Owensboro native. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur L. Jenks.
Survivors include two stepsons, Thomas F. Jenks of Kettering, Ohio, and Peter Gordon of California; a nephew; and a niece.
Services are at 8 p.m. Friday at Tobias Funeral Home, Far Hills Chapel in Dayton, Ohio. Committal services are at 10 a.m. Saturday at David's cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation is after 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice of Dayton.

LEWISPORT -- Shirley Cahal, 73, of Lewisport died there Monday, May 21, 2001, at his home. The Hawesville native retired from W.R. Grace Chemical Co. after 31 years, was a deacon at Lewisport Baptist Church and a Kentucky Colonel.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Cahal; a son, Brent Cahal of Lewisport; a daughter, Lisa Rice of Lewisport; and four grandchildren.
Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Lewisport Baptist Church. Burial will be in Lewisport cemetery. Visitation is from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Taylor-Raymond-Spear Funeral Home in Lewisport. MARION, Ill. -- Ann Owen Genz, 67, of Marion, formerly of Owensboro, died Thursday, May 17, 2001, in Marion Memorial Hospital after a short illness. The Herrin, Ill., native retired as a special education teacher from the Owensboro school system after 16 years, was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Owensboro and was member and former president of American Association of University Women and Women's Coalition.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Willard John "Will" Genz; a son, Christopher Owen Genz of Denver, Colo.; four daughters, Gretchen Genz Davidson of Park Ridge, Ill., Camilla J. Klaskin of Kettle River, Minn., Jennie Genz Penrod of Metropolis, Ill., and Antoinette Genz Hayden of Elmwood Park, Ill.; seven grandchildren; and her sister, Kay Dale of Herrin, Ill.
Services are at 1 p.m. Sunday at Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home in Marion, Ill. There is no visitation.
George Edward Andrews

MORGANTOWN -- George Edward Andrews, 86, of Morgantown died Sunday, May 27, 2001, at Medical Center in Bowling Green. The Butler County native was a farmer and member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Exie Givens Andrews; four sons, Claudy Andrews of Mount Vernon, Ind., Clydie Andrews of Russellville, Eddie Andrews of Morgantown and Jack Andrews of Booneville, Ind.; five daughters, Mae Chatman of Evansville, Betty Ladewig, Judy Alford and Patty Renfrow, all of Morgantown, and Kay Landrum of South Boston, Va.; 12 grandchildren; 16 stepgrandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 14 stepgreat-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; a brother, Presley Andrews of New Albany, Ind.; and a sister, Marie Rayhill of Louisville.
Services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Jones Funeral Chapel in Morgantown. Burial will be in Union cemetery in Morgantown. Visitation is after 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Dr. Robert Grace Shaver

CENTRAL CITY -- Dr. Robert Grace Shaver, 87, of Central City died Saturday, May 26, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Muhlenberg County native was a retired minister, a member of Kentucky Conference United Methodist Church and served for eight years as trustee of Kentucky Wesleyan College and 20 years as trustee for Methodist Hospital. He received a bachelor's degree from KWC, an honorary degree from Union College and made many donations to Loucon Capital Campaign. His wife of 64 years, Ruby Shaver, died Oct. 22, 1997.
Survivors include a brother, Charles Shaver of Central City, and several nephews and nieces.
Services are at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial will be in Fairmount cemetery in Central City. Visitation is after 5:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Camp Loucon.
Welborn 'Bill' Hargan

Welborn "Bill" Hargan, 86, of 520 Yale Place, Owensboro, died Friday, June 1, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. The McLean County native retired from Colonial Bakery in 1976 as a maintenance engineer and was a former automobile mechanic for Harry Holder Ford-Lincoln-Mercury in Owensboro. He was a Pentecostal and a third degree Mason.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Nova M. Hargan; a son, Walter James Hargan of Utica; four daughters, Martha Young of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; Mary Wilgus of Campbellsville, Sallie Wright of Richmond and Linda Wardle of Paint Lick; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Services are at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at James H. Davis Funeral Home chapel in Owensboro. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
