McHENRY - Willard M. Austin, 76, of McHenry died Friday, Jan. 29, 1999, at Ohio County Hospital in Hartford. He was born in McHenry, was a laborer and was a member of Hartford Baptist Church.
Survivors include a sister, Mary Austin Ashby of Beaver Dam; two nephews; six nieces; three cousins; and several great-nephews and great-nieces.
Services are at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Burial will be in Render Memorial cemetery in McHenry. Visitation is from 4 to 9 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Clyde R. Allen Jr.

Clyde R. Allen Jr., 70, of 730 Fargo St., Owensboro, died Friday, Jan. 29, 1999, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. He was born in Rockport, Ind., retired from the maintenance division at Alcoa after 16 years and also retired from General Electric. He was a veteran of both the Army and the Air Force, was a graduate of Rockport High School and attended Western Kentucky University and Brescia College. He was a member of the Assembly of God and was a former page for the U.S. House of Representatives.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Allen; a son, Robert Keith Allen of Indianapolis; a daughter, Gena Allen of Beech Grove; two stepsons, Jimmy Davis of Sebree and Larry Coy of Owensboro; a stepdaughter, Charlene Hulley of Owensboro; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Larry Allen of Rockport, Ind.;a sister, Phyllis Miller of Pettysville, Ohio; and several nephews and nieces.
Memorial services are at 2 p.m. Sunday at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, Ind. Visitation is after 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro is in charge of local arrangements. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the American Heart Association, 920 Frederica St., Owensboro, KY 42301-3078.

LEWISBURG - Verlon Louise Hudnall, 72, of Lewisburg died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 1999, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn. She was a member of Life Temple Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include a son, Ricky Hudnall of Russellville; one grandchild; two brothers, James Hudnall of Owensboro and Bobby Hudnall of Penrod; and three sisters, Juanita Horton of Belton, Joyce Roher of Russellville and Marcie Whitaker of Lewisburg.
Services were Saturday at Price Funeral Home in Lewisburg. Burial was in Hortons Chapel cemetery in Muhlenberg County.
Thomasine Smith Waite

Thomasine Smith Waite, 89, of 2615 Dartmouth Drive, Owensboro, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. She was born in Thruston, retired from S.W. Anderson and was a volunteer for the American Heart Association. She was a member of Eaton Memorial Baptist Church, where she was active in Sunday school and was a member of the Women's Missionary Union. Her husband, Floyd B. Waite, died Dec. 6, 1983.
Survivors include a son, Ronald F. Waite of Owensboro; a daughter, Barbara Jo Waite of Evansville; one sister, Margaret S. Revlett of Owensboro; and several nephews and nieces.
Services are at 1 p.m. Tuesday at James H. Davis Funeral Home in Owensboro. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. REED - Thomas R. "Hitch Hike" Meredith Sr., 75, of Reed died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, at Community United Methodist Hospital in Henderson. He was a member of Christ Gospel Church in Evansville.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Elizabeth Meredith; six sons, Bobby Meredith of Yankeetown, Ind., Steve Meredith, Jonathan Meredith and Phillip Meredith, all of Reed, Mark Meredith of Henderson and Tim Meredith of Robards; six daughters, Rachel Ramsey, Becky McDonald, Ruth Raley and Mary Jo Meredith, all of Reed, Joy Vanhooser of Evansville and Judy Dickins of Henderson; 21 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond Meredith of Reed and Billy Meredith of Owensboro; a sister, Evelyn Wood of Henderson; and several nephews and nieces.
Services are at 2 p.m. Monday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home in Henderson. Visitation is from 3 to 9 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Morris Uzzle

GRAHAM - Morris Uzzle, 84, of Graham died Friday, Jan. 29, 1999, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. He was born in Muhlenberg County, retired as a postmaster at Graham after 20 years and served on the Muhlenberg County Board of Education for two terms.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Uzzle; a son, William T. Uzzle of Birmingham, Ala.; two grandchildren; a brother, David Uzzle of Bremen; and a sister, Virginia Vincent of Graham.
Services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Gary's Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial will be in Unity cemetery near Greenville. There will be no visitation.
Sallie F. Sexton

Sallie F. Sexton, 57, of 11438 Old Leitchfield Road, Whitesville, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 1999, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. She was born in Daviess County, was a homemaker and was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Whitesville.
Survivors include her husband, John E. Sexton; a son, John A. Lanham of Naples, Fla.; a daughter, Tamara Alvey of Owensboro; four grandchildren; a brother, Charles Pate of Atlanta; and two sisters, Louise Bollinger of Baton Rouge, La., and Janice Redfern of Livermore.

SACRAMENTO - Melvin C. Miller, 93, of Sacramento, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, at Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home in Madisonville. He was born in McLean County, retired as a farmer and was of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include a son, Bobby Miller of Sacramento; two daughters, Virginia Vincent of Greenville and Jeanette Utley of Madisonville; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Tucker Memorial Chapel in Sacramento. Burial will be in Free Union cemetery in Sacramento. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
George Devine

BEAVER DAM - George Manuel Devine, 77, of Beaver Dam died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, at Ohio County Hospital in Hartford. He was born in Rockport, Ky., and retired from Ken Surface Mine of Peabody Coal Co. after 35 years. He was a member of Rockport (Ky.) Baptist Church and United Mine Workers of America Local 8941, where he served 20 years as president. A son Charles Manuel Devine died in 1971.
Survivors include his wife, Carrie Singleton Devine; a son, Howard Thomas Devine of Grandview, Ind.; four daughters, Phyllis Hill of Henderson, Alice Mason of Watertown, S.D., and Faith Elaine Devine and Kim Fleener, both of Beaver Dam; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Edna Earl Adams, 77, of 1217 Walnut St., Owensboro, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 1999, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. She was born in Daviess County, retired from Kentucky Electronics and volunteered for Audubon Area Community Services. She was a member of St. Stephen Cathedral in Owensboro, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 696 Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion James L. Yates Post 9 Ladies Auxiliary, AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary and Purple Heart Society. She was a Kentucky Colonel, was president of Military Order of Cottee Association and Disabled American Veterans Ladies Auxiliary. She was former commander of Disabled American Veterans Ladies Auxiliary and former treasurer of VFW Post 696 Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Mitchell and Carolye Butler, both of Owensboro; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Wilma Kinney Britt of Lakeland, Fla.
Services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Stephen Cathedral. Burial will be in Rosehill cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home. Prayers will be said at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Jamie Lynn Payne, 33, of 210 Phillips Court, Owensboro, died Sunday, Oct. 25, 1998, at her home. She was born in Owensboro and was a member of Third Baptist Church. She enjoyed the outdoors, spending time with her dog and playing bingo.
Survivors include a son, Steven Shane Raines of Owensboro; a daughter, Julia Sue Raines of Owensboro; her mother, Patsy Sue Rowan of Owensboro; a brother, Dennis Shane Crafton of Owensboro; and two sisters, Denise Mendez and Misty Orean Rowan, both of Owensboro.

Jimmie Wayne Hodgin, 60, of St. Joseph died Monday, April 19, 1999, at his home. He was born in Daviess County and graduated from Daviess County High School in 1957. He was an Army veteran and was employed by York International plant in Madisonville. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Elba and enjoyed gardening and working outdoors. His wife, Etta Mae Hodgin, died May 27, 1992.
Survivors include his companion, Hazel Waters; two stepsons, Keith Long of Island and Scott Long of Owensboro; a stepdaughter, Denise Aubrey of Owensboro; several stepgrandchildren; one niece; four great-nephews; one great-niece; and one aunt.
Services are at 1 p.m. Thursday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill cemetery in Elba.
