Harold Raymond Evans, 69, of the Tower Motor Inn, Owensboro, died Friday, Sept. 25, 1998, at his home. He was born in Daviess County and retired from The Salvation Army.
Survivors include two sons, Byron W. Evans of Illinois and Joe Raymond Evans of Henderson; a daughter, Holly Sue Brockwell of Henderson; a brother, Adrian Ray Evans of Orlando; a sister, Margaret Waltrip of North Carolina; a half brother, Walter Lee "Walkie" Phillips of North Carolina; and a half sister, Ernestine Grier of North Carolina.
There will be no services or visitation. Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Dorothy 'Maggie' Wiggington

Dorothy "Maggie" Edwards Sumner Wiggington, 73, of 1207 W. First St., Owensboro, died Monday, Sept. 28, 1998, at her home. She was born in Daviess County, was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lonnie Sumner; and her second husband, Wayne Wiggington.
Survivors include five sons, William E. Sumner and Lonnie A. Sumner Jr., both of Owensboro, Clifton R. Sumner of Philpot, Claudie L. Sumner of Thruston and Jerry L. Sumner of Whitesville; five daughters, Lydia Griffin, Patricia Ervin, Brenda Shock and Nettie A. Sumner, all of Owensboro, and Emma J. Cockrell of Maceo; 29 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Nettie A. Jones of Dayton, Ohio.
Services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home Chapel in Owensboro. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice Association, Memorial Fund, 723 Harvard Drive, Owensboro, KY 42301. CENTRAL CITY - Thurman Dallas Riley, 74, of Central City died Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. He was born in Muhlenberg County and was the former owner of Riley Standard Oil in Cleaton.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Katherine Jones Riley; a son, Dallas Riley of Owensboro; three daughters, Patricia Engler of Greenville, Edna Tucker of Philpot and Brenda J. Hill of Drakesboro; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.
Services are at 2 p.m. Sunday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery in Central City. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Judy Krise

BEAVER DAM - Judy Krise, 53, of Beaver Dam died Tuesday, Sept. 22, 1998, at Ohio County Hospital in Hartford. She was born in Ohio County, was a motel housekeeper and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Ben Krise; a son, Mark Boyken of Hartford; four daughters, Linda Watson, Beth Bowlds, Kim Smith and Jennifer Roach, all of Beaver Dam; nine grandchildren; a brother, Billy Burden of Beaver Dam; and two sisters, Lucille Baize and Mildred Barbee, both of Beaver Dam.
Services are at 10:30 a.m. Friday at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Burial will be in Bethel cemetery in Ohio County. Visitation is from 2 to 9 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Carl Simmons

CENTRAL CITY - Carl Simmons, 86, of Owensboro died Tuesday, Sept. 22, 1998, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. He was born in White County, Tenn., retired from Crescent Coal Co. and was a member of Apollo Heights Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Irene Simmons; a son, Jim Simmons of Greensboro, N.C.; a daughter, Carolyn Mercer of Central City; four grandchildren; and a sister, Verla Deaton of Gainesville, Ga.
Services are at 10 a.m. Friday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial will be in Forest Grove cemetery in Browder. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home. Masonic services are at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
James A. Proctor

HENDERSON - James A. Proctor, 70, of Henderson died Friday, Sept. 25, 1998, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. He was born in Robards and was a member of Bellfield Baptist Church, where he was a deacon. He retired from Bucyrus Erie after 35 years, was a Kentucky Colonel and enjoyed woodworking.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Carol Proctor; two sons, David A. Proctor and James Stephen Proctor, both of Henderson; two daughters, Gayle Shockley of Livermore and Linda Proctor of Henderson; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Evelyn Frashier, Alice Floyd and Ann Vandiver, all of Henderson, and Doris McKee of Hopkinsville.
Services are pending at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home in Henderson. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Bellfield Baptist Church Building Fund or St. Anthony's Hospice. Memorial contribution envelopes are available at the funeral home.

ROSINE - Stanley Allen, 84, of Rosine died Monday, Sept. 28, 1998, at his home. He was born in Rosine, retired from V.E. Anderson Co. and served two terms as magistrate of Ohio County for the 7th District. He was a member of Rosine United Methodist Church, where he was a song leader for more than 45 years, and he was a Kentucky Colonel.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Loretta Leach Allen; three sons, Wendell Allen of Rosine, Ronnie Allen of Philpot and David Allen of Clarksville, Tenn.; a daughter, Connie Jean Payton of Flint Springs; seven grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; 12 great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; a brother, Hilbert Allen of Cromwell; and a sister, Pauline Davis of Rosine.
Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Burial will be in Rosine cemetery. Visitation is from 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

SOUTH CARROLLTON - James Earl Nelson, 84, of South Carrollton died Tuesday, Sept. 22, 1998, at Maple Manor Nursing Home in Greenville. He was born in Ohio County and retired as a track worker from L & N Railroad.
Survivors include his wife, Lula Nelson; three sons, Ray Neal Nelson of Bremen, and William Earl Nelson and James R. Nelson, both of South Carrollton; four daughters, Ruth Ann Renfrow, Ida Nell Duncan and Karen Kittinger, all of South Carrollton and Charlotte Sue Aquea of Afton, Okla.; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Robert Jewell Nelson of Louisville and Buel Leon Nelson of Murray; and two sisters, Rachel Pearl Gibson of Bremen and Cliffie Kyle of Bremen.
Services are at 2 p.m. Friday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial will be in Mount Pisgah cemetery in Bremen. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
LaVonne Zint Potter

SARASOTA, Fla. - LaVonne Zint Potter, 77, of Sarasota, formerly of Owensboro, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1998, at Bay Village Nursing Home in Sarasota following a five month battle with cancer. She was born in Owensboro, was a 1939 graduate of Owensboro High School and was a member of the Presbyterian Church of the Covenant in Sarasota.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, John W. Potter.
Private memorial services were at the Presbyterian Church of the Covenant in Sarasota. The National Cremation Society in Sarasota was in charge of arrangements. LEWISPORT - Willie Mae Sadler, 64, of Lewisport died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 1998, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. She was born in Hancock County, retired as a dog warden from Hancock County and was a member of Hilldale United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Billy Joe Sadler; two daughters, Paula Gray of Hawesville and Roxanna Hawley of Owensboro; and four grandchildren.
Services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at Taylor-Raymond-Spear Funeral Home in Lewisport. Burial will be in Lewisport cemetery. Visitation is after 4 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Lenwell Jewell Bivins

BLAIRSVILLE, Ga. - Lenwell Jewell Bivins, 76, of Blairsville died Tuesday, Sept. 22, 1998, in Blairsville. He was born in Greenville, was a graduate of Greenville High School and received his Bachelor's of Science in accounting from the University of Louisville. He was a veteran of World War II, was a member of the American Legion, was a Kentucky Colonel and was a member and past president of the Lions Club in Union County, Ga. He was auditor for the City of Louisville, was budget officer for the City of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., was finance director for Volusia County, Fla., and retired as the auditing supervisor for the Florida Board of Education.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Reeda Rose Von Allmen Bivins; a son, Lenwell J. Bivins Jr. of Blairsville; one grandchild; and two sisters, Thelma Young of Greenville and Marlene Wood of Marion.
Services were Sept. 24 at Cochran Funeral Home in Blairsville. Burial will be in Greenville.
Beverly Gilmore

Beverly Gilmore, 78, of Ensor died Thursday, Nov. 5, 1998, at Leisure Years Nursing Home in Owensboro. He was born in Daviess County, was a retired farmer and was a former bookkeeper at Equity Tobacco Warehouse. He was a member of Mount Zion Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where he was an elder, a Sunday school teacher and the song leader, having led the singing at the church for 44 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II, where he was a Combat Engineer, serving in the European Theater of Operations for two years and landing on Normandy Beach during the D-Day invasion in 1944.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Rachel Adams Gilmore; two sons, Dennis Gilmore of Owensboro and David Gilmore of Memphis, Tenn.; two daughters, Carol G. Smith of Franklin and Sharon Gilmore-Beyke of Owensboro; two grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and three sisters, Louise Gilmore Glover and Edith Gilmore Clark, both of Philpot, and Margaret Gilmore Craig of Florence.
Services are at 11 a.m. Monday at Mount Zion Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Philpot. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at James H. Davis Funeral Home in Owensboro.
