Jean Skillman
OWENSBORO — Jean Pardon Skillman died Saturday, March 3, 2001, at her home.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Joy Sunday school class and Daughters of the American Revolution.
Surviving are a daughter, Jan Evans of Owensboro; two sons, Ray of Greenwood, Ind., and Dr. Jon of Owensboro; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home, with burial in Elmwood cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 1 p.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church or Hospice Association.
Janet Brumfield
MORGANFIELD — Janet (Matney) Brumfield, 57, died of complications of cancer Sunday, March 4, 2001, at Methodist Hospital in Henderson.
Surviving are her husband of 40 years, William Sr.; three daughters, Brandee and Mandee Brumfield, both at home, and Tammy Buckman of Morganfield; a son, Joey of Morganfield; four sisters, Judy Hudson of Deland, Fla., Peggy Phillips of Orlando, Fla., Janie Reed of Virginia Beach, Va., and Johnnie Ward of Milton, W. Va.; a brother, James David Matney of Houston; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Whitsell Funeral Home, with burial in Odd Fellows cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 11 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Elynor Boggess
MANITOU — Elynor (Brown) Boggess, 70, died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2001, at Madisonville Regional Medical Center.
She was a member of Madisonville First United Methodist Church and had been a volunteer at Madisonville-Hopkins County Library.
Surviving are a daughter, Lynn Ann Waddle of Elizabethtown; a son, Bruce of Madisonville; a sister, Beverly Matthews of Madisonville; three grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Her husband, Horace L., died on Nov. 1, 2000.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Madisonville First United Methodist Church, with burial in Odd Fellows cemetery there.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home and from noon to service time at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Madisonville-Hopkins County Library or a favorite charity.
Sally Whitmer
BREMEN — Sally S. Whitmer, 94, died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2001, at Senior Citizens Nursing Home in Madisonville.
She was a member of Brier Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Joyce Martin of Evansville and Emma Jean Revelett of Nashville, Tenn.; three sons, Bennie of Alexandria and Don and Ed, both of Bremen; 20 grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Tucker Funeral Home, with burial in Brier Creek cemetery.

Lurlene Gray
UNIONTOWN — Lurlene Gray, 86, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, at her home.
Surviving are a son, Ronald of Midway; and two grandchildren. Her husband, Oscar H., died in 1981.
Arrangements are pending at Whitsell Funeral Home.
Mary Rice
FREDONIA — Mary C. Rice, 84, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, at Crittenden County Hospital in Marion.
She was a member of Shepherd Street Baptist Church in Princeton.
Surviving is a foster brother, Robert Lee Rice of Pontiac, Mich.
Her husband, Harvey, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Morgan’s Funeral Home, with burial in Cedar Hill cemetery.

Jimmy Johnson
MADISONVILLE — Jimmy Paul Johnson, 60, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001 at his home of cancer.
He attended Trinity Gospel Tabernacle in Nortonville.
Surviving are his mother, Ruby Love McCord; a sister, Nancy Rogers of Ilsley; four brothers, James of Madisonville, Thomas of Ilsley, Ellis of St. Charles and Raymond of Mortons Gap; nieces and nephews; and his caregiver, Linda Johnson.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington, with burial in Ilsley cemetery.

Geneva Edwards
MADISONVILLE — Geneva Louise Edwards, 64, died Monday, Jan. 1, 2001, at Madisonville Regional Medical Center.
The cause of death is pending autopsy results.
Surviving are her husband, Roy Eugene; a daughter, Patricia Villines of Michigan; a son, Michael Randolph of Madisonville; a sister, Betty Nance of Madisonville; three brothers, Travis, James and Kenny Pleasant, all of Madisonville; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
A daughter, Joslyn Ann Randolph, preceded her in death.
The body will be cremated and no service is planned.
Reid Walters Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Zella Carroll
PRINCETON — Zella B. Carroll, 78, died Monday, Jan. 1, 2001, at Salem Springlake Care Center.
She had been a licensed practical nurse.
Surviving are her husband, Frank; a daughter, Sandi Corman of Nicholasville; a sister, Alma Parsley of Princeton; two brothers, Walter S. and Les, both of Lexington; and three grandsons, Jess, Tommy and Travis Corman.
The body will be cremated, there are no services planned.
Martella Sibley
MORGANFIELD — Martella Sibley, 79, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000, at Methodist Hospital in Henderson of complications of pneumonia.
She was a member of Macedonia Free Will Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Roosevelt; five daughters, Earthene Sibley of Henderson, Jewel and Vivian Sibley, both of Morganfield, Lenora Smith of Atlanta, and Sylvia Helmus of Dallas, Texas; four sons, Ronald of Texas, Freeman of Morganfield, Archie of Dayton, Ohio, and Lemuel of Indianapolis; a sister, Carolyn Vaughn of Indianapolis; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A son, William Roosevelt Sibley, died in 1983.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Macedonia Free Will Baptist Church, with burial in Odd Fellows cemetery.
