Tidie Watson
MARION — Tidie Watson, 93, died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at Crittenden County Convalescent Center.
She was a member of Tolu Methodist Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Ruby Truitt of Evansville, Mary Belle Smead of Paw Paw, Mich., and Laureen Maynard of Salem; two sons, Vernon of Marion and William Guy of Hopkinsville; 24 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney, and a daughter, Ruth Lawson.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Gilbert Funeral Home, with burial in White Chapel cemetery.

Curtis Siria Sr.
MADISONVILLE — Curtis H. Siria Sr., 84, died Wednesday, March 21, 2001, at Madisonville Regional Medical Center.
He was the superintendent of mail at the Madisonville post office.
He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran, serving with the Flying Tigers overseas. He retired with the rank of major in 1966.
He was a 1938 Georgetown College graduate.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6480 and American Legion Post 161.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Margaret W.; two sons, Jeff of St. Louis and Hayden of Wood River, Ill.; two brothers, Gilbert of Madisonville and Earl of Stevenson, Ala.; and a grandson, Patrick Siria.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home, with burial in Grapevine cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10:30 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Steven Walker
HENDERSON —Steven Walker, 53, died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at his home of cancer.
He was a member of the Elks 206, Moose 732 and Sons of the American Legion Squadron 40.
Surviving are two daughters, Kelli Bush of Baskett and Brandy Walker of Zion; his mother, Helen Walker of Henderson; two sisters, Janice Breedlove of Eddyville and Sandy Kemp of Henderson; a brother, Dave of Evansville; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home, with burial in Fernwood cemetery.

Barbara Wolf
SEBREE — Barbara Dean (Means) Wolf, 78, died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at Methodist Hospital of complications of pneumonia.
She attended Sebree Pentecostal Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Norma McMillin of Wilmington, N.C., and Marilyn Smith of Sebree; five sons, Ron of Sebree, James of Robards, Alan of Uniontown, Harold of Henderson and Darrell of Evansville; three sisters, Virginia Kuebler of Mount Vernon, Ind., Sharon Hatch of Largo, Fla., and Linda Pierce of Evansville; two brothers, Martin Means of Onton and James “G.B.” Means of Mount Vernon; 29 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton, in 1972, a daughter, Sue Wolf, and a son, Dale.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Tompkins Funeral Homes Sebree-Poole Chapel, with burial in Springdale cemetery.

Dillie Barron
HENDERSON — Dillie Sutton Barron, 80, died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at Redbanks Nursing Home.
Surviving are a daughter, Joyce Culver of Henderson; two sons, Mike Barron and Joe Bullock, both of Henderson; a sister, Mag Sutton of Henderson; three brothers, James and Arthur Sutton, both of Henderson, and Delbert Sutton of Evansville; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Sue Catherine Rigdon in 1961 and Irma Dean Lockerby in 2000, and two sons, Raymond and Vernon Parrish, both in 1995.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Townsend Funeral Home, with burial in Old Cedar Grove cemetery in Tilden.

Lawrence Laffoon
DAWSON SPRINGS — Lawrence Raymond Laffoon, 81, died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at Madisonville Regional Medical Center.
He had worked as a coal miner and a carpenter. He was a World War II Army veteran and helped build a bridge over the Rhine River in Germany. He was Pentecostal.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Nellie (Pendley); a daughter, Mary Ann Laffoon of Charleston; three sons, Lawrence Jr. of Dawson Springs and Jimmy and Danny Lee of Charleston; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A son, David, preceded him in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Beshear Funeral Home, with burial in New Beulah cemetery.
John Stott
HENDERSON — John Lewis “Dump” Stott, 47, died of kidney failure Saturday, March 3, 2001, at Methodist Hospital.
He was a self-employed construction worker and a member of the Seventh Street Missionary Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, John L. Jr. of Evansville and Reginald of Arkansas; five sisters, Joan Blane and Martha Hazelwood, both of Evansville, Fathey M. Dixon of Owensboro, Glen Dora Smith of Henderson and Donnetta Stott of Lexington; and a brother, Luzon of Henderson.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Seventh Street Missionary Baptist Church, with burial in Fernwood cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Mason Brothers Audubon Chapel is handling arrangements.
Frank Cates
HENDERSON — Frank Donald Cates, 69, of Corydon, died of cancer Sunday, March 4, 2001, at Methodist Hospital.
He was a farmer and had worked for the highway department in Kentucky. He was an Army veteran and a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church.
Surviving are a sister, Susan Wathen of Henderson; a brother, Carroll of Corydon; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, with burial in St. Louis cemetery. Mary Coomes
OWENSBORO — Mary Drusie Coomes, 95, died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at Hartland Villa in Lewisport.
She had worked for Ken-Rad and General Electric. She was a member of St. Stephen Cathedral, a former member of the Altar Society and the last surviving member of the 1923 championship basket ball team at West Louisville Girls High School.
Surviving are two daughters, Joyce Alvey of Tell City, Ind., and Jane Rowland of Louisville; four sons, Thomas H. Sr., Joseph “Bucky, ” Donald D. and Ronald G., all of Owensboro; a sister, Ann Romain of Owensboro; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Stephens Cathedral, with burial in Mater Dolorosa cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 pm. today at Glenn Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., and from 9 a.m. to service time at the church. Robert Jennings
MADISONVILLE — Robert H. Jennings, 87, of Sacramento, died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at National Health Care Nursing Home.
He retired as a tipple operator for Peabody Coal Co., was a member of United Mine Workers Local 1178, and a member and former deacon of the Bethlehem Christian Church in Anton. He was a woodworker, member of Woodmen of the World and held several commendations from the Republic Aviation in Evansville.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Marjorie (Stirsman); a son, Robert A. of Sacramento; two grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Odd Fellows cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
Minnie Jones
DAWSON SPRINGS — Minnie Lee Jones, 89, died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at National Health Care Center.
She was Baptist.
Surviving are two daughters, Joyce Holland and Jane Brown, both of Dawson Springs; three sons, Billy Clayton of Madisonville and Jerry Clayton and Harold Jones, both of Dawson Springs; 13 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Casey, and an infant daughter, Wanda Lee Clayton.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Beshear Funeral Home, with burial in Creekmur cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Kenneth Farris
BEECH GROVE — Kenneth H. Farris, 77, died Monday, March 5, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System.
He had worked for McLean County and was a member of the Calhoun Christian Church.
Surviving are his wife of 32 years, Jo Ann; a son, Kenneth W. of Utica and seven grandchildren. A son, Rickey, died in 2000.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Muster Funeral Homes Calhoun Chapel, with burial in Calhoun cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Gladys Ritter
MADISONVILLE — Gladys C. “Teenie” Ritter, 77, of Crofton, died of complications of a stroke Monday, March 5, 2001, at National Health Care Nursing Home in Dawson Springs.
She had worked for the Kroger Co. in Nashville, Tenn.
Surviving is a nieces who cared for her, Ellwanda Hibbs.
