Guy McChesney
HENDERSON — Guy Wilson “Mac” McChesney, 84, died Sunday, March 25, 2001, at Methodist Hospital.
He was the former owner and operator of the Bright Spot Tavern. He was a World War II Army Air Corp veteran, member of Elks Lodge 206, Moose Lodge 732 and a Kentucky Colonel.
Surviving are a stepdaughter, Tammy Henderson of Henderson; a son, Steve of Henderson; a stepson, Tony McMurtry of Texas; a grandchild; stepgrandchildren; and a niece and nephew. His wife, Virginia G., died in 1992.
Family services will be private, with burial in Shady Grove cemetery. There will be no visitation at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony’s Hospice.
David Brady
HENDERSON — David Leroy “Dink” Brady, 44, died Saturday, March 24, 2001, along with his son, Jeremy Brady, in an automobile accident on U.S. 41 South in Henderson.
Surviving are a daughter, Gwen Brady of Henderson; two sons, Brian David Duncan of Henderson and Curtis “C.J.” Brady of Central City; two sisters, Pam Johnson of North Carolina and Linda Bishop of Welch, W.Va.; two brothers, Cecil of North Carolina and Lloyd of Welch; five grandchildren; and his companion of seven years, Sue Rigdon of Henderson.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home, with burial in Mount Zion cemetery in Reed. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 am. to service time at the funeral home.
Jeremy Brady
HENDERSON — Jeremy Dewayne Brady, 24, died Saturday, March 24, 2001, along with his father, David Brady, in an automobile accident on U.S. 41 South in Henderson.
He was a member of Powers Chapel Church in Breman.
Surviving are his wife, Lisa; two daughters, Destiny and Kaitlyn Brady, both of Henderson; his mother, Christy Dillinger of Central City; a sister, Gwen Brady of Henderson; a brother, Curtis “C.J.” of Central City; grandparents, John “J.W.” and Dorris Haire; and nieces and nephews.

Flora King
OWENSBORO — Flora Mae King, 88, died Saturday, March 24, 2001, at Leisure Years Nursing Home. She was a Protestant.
Surviving are a son, Marvon Spencer of Owensboro; a brother, John Priddy of Indiana; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three husbands, Walter Brook Spencer, in 1934, Ted Decker, in 1956, and Earl King, in 1982.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home, with burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 8:30 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Hershel Rickard
SLAUGHTERS — Hershel “Rick” Rickard, 84, died Sunday, March 25, 2001, at Methodist Hospital in Henderson.
He was a construction marble and limestone layer. He was a World War II Army veteran, serving in Germany.
Surviving are a daughter, Janet Hughes of Slaughters; two sisters, Opal Smith of Bremen and Mary Seamon of Mattoon, Ill.; and a brother, Aubrey of Sacramento. His wife, Dolores, died in 1994.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home, with burial in White Oak cemetery near Clay. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Emily Vinson
PRINCETON — Emily Gertrude Vinson, 92, died Friday, March 23, 2001, at the home of her daughter, Bobbie Logsdon of Catawissa, Mo.
Also surviving are three grandchildren, Michael and Douglas Martin and Brian Logsdon.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Beshear Funeral Home, with burial in Dunn cemetery in Charleston. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to service time.
Gary Lowe
MORGANFIELD — Gary Lowe, 51, died of cancer Friday, March 23, 2001, at his home in Vestaburg, Mich.
Surviving are two daughters, Tammy Mull of Virginia Beach, Va., and Jennifer Lowe of Vestaburg; two sons, Larry of Midland, Mich., and Joseph of Vestaburg; five sisters, Susie Lowe, Mildred Townsend and Mary Lowe, all of Henderson, Patsy English of Rosiclare, Ill., and Sally McDaniels of Tampa, Fla.; a brother, Wendall of Eldorado, Ill.; and five grandchildren.
His wife, Donna (Rhodes), died in 1996.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Whitsell Funeral Home, with burial in Sacred Heart cemetery in Waverly.

Geneva Kemp
PRINCETON — Geneva Kemp, 93, died Friday, March 23, 2001, at Princeton Health Care Manor.
She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sisters, Frances Carner and Linda Coleman, both of Princeton. Her husband, Gilbert “Buster, ” died in 1989.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Morgan’s Funeral Home, with burial in Cedar Hill cemetery. Friends may call from noon to service time.

Sister Mary Abell
OWENSBORO — Sister Mary Damien Abell, 90, died of heart failure Thursday, March 22, 2001, at Mount St. Joseph in Maple Mount, Ky.
She had been the principal of Blessed Mother School in Owensboro from 1966 to 1985. She was a teacher at St. Joseph School for 10 years and at St. Alphonsus School in St. Joseph, Ky. She retired as the librarian at Mary Carrico School in Knottsville in 1993.
Surviving are nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Mount St. Joseph Chapel in Maple Mount, with burial in Convent cemetery there.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Sunday, with a wake service at 6:30 p.m., at the Mount St. Joseph Chapel. Glenn Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Elizabeth Carter
OWENSBORO — Elizabeth Creason Carter, 71, died Friday, March 23, 2001, at Bon Harbor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. The cause of death has not yet been determined.
She was a member of Walnut Memorial Baptist Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary and a volunteer for the Audubon area Senior Companions Program.
Surviving are four daughters, Sheila Cooper, Carolyn Sue Hinton, Paula Faye Carter and Joan Renee Carman, all of Owensboro; a son, Bill of Owensboro; a sister, Patricia Jane Zorn of Louisville; a brother, Henry Clay Creason of Lewisport; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Glenn Funeral Home, with entombment in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.

Elisha ‘E.G.’ Landers
HENDERSON — Elisha George “E.G.” Landers, 61, formerly of Henderson, died Monday, March 12, 2001, at Highland Hospital in Berkeley, Calif., of injuries suffered in an automobile accident.
He was a longshoreman in Oakland, Calif. He attended Alves Street School and Douglass High School and was a former member of Norris Chapel Baptist Church, all in Henderson.
Surviving are two aunts, Beatrice Hatchett Bagwell and Margaret Hatchett Williams.
His wife, Mary Hellen Turner, preceded him in death.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Greater Norris Chapel Baptist Church, with burial in Fernwood cemetery.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to service time at the church. There will be no visitation at Mason Brothers Audubon Chapel.
Robert Meythaler
OWENSBORO — Robert Austin Meythaler, 19, died Thursday, March 22, 2001, at Greenville (S. C.) Medical Center of injuries suffered from a fall.
He was a freshman pre-med student at Furman University in Greenville, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, and had been preparing for work as a student volunteer at Kosair Children’s Hospital cancer unit. He was a member of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church.
He was valedictorian of Owensboro High School class of 2000, four-year soccer letterman, member of National Honor Society, student council and Interact Club and was selected for Who’s Who Among High School Students and Who’s Who Among High School Athletes.
Surviving are his parents, Teri Austin and Robert Virgil Meythaler of Owensboro; two brothers, Nicholas Velde Meythaler and Bradford Scott Meythaler, both of Owensboro; and grandparents, Shirley and Darrel Austin and Carol and Virgil Meythaler, all of Owensboro.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Settle Memorial Church.
Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. today and from noon to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Glenn Funeral Home.

Infant Madeline Harl
OWENSBORO — Madeline Rose Harl, 2-day-old daughter of Julie and Chad Harl, died Thursday, March 22, 2001, at Norton-Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville, Ky.
Also surviving are grandparents, Mike Harl, Mary Ann and Eddie O’Bryan and Janet and Jim Hagan, all of Owensboro; and great-grandmothers.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Resurrection cemetery. Glenn Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
