Donald Hibbs
PROVIDENCE — Donald “Donnie” Wayne Hibbs, 66, died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, at his home of an apparent heart attack.
He was a retired coal miner.
He was a Korean War veteran.
He was a member and deacon of White Oak General Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Charlet; a son, David of Corbin; his stepmother, Vera Hibbs; four sisters, Jo Bell Hudson of Providence, Anna Katherine Lovan of Madisonville, Patsy Throgmorten of Providence and Roma Lee of St. Clair, Mo.; three brothers, Mike of Indianapolis and Anford Sr. and Jerry, both of Providence; a granddaughter, Paige Hibbs; and three step grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Melton Funeral Home, wth burial in White Oak cemetery in Clay.

Euel Smith
MADISONVILLE — Euel Lee Smith, 58, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
He was a member of Miracle Temple Church of God, and had been the church minister.
Surviving are two daughters, Rachel Smith of Reno, Nev., and Christina Smith of Phoenix; three sons, Donnie Nathaniel of Salem, Ohio, and Moses and Josh, both of Madisonville; a sister, Bonnie Smith Almon of Madisonville; nine grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington, with burial in Suthards cemetery.

Helen Ebelhar
SORGHO — Helen (Russell) Ebelhar, 96, died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, at Hermitage Nursing Home.
She was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church.
Surviving are six daughters, Mary Guinn of Owensboro, Sister Helen Leo (Martha) O.S.U. of Maple Mount, Helen Reinstedler of Louisville, Barbara Powers of Bowling Green, Beverly Ebelhar of Sorgho and Patricia Mearkle of Simsbury, Conn.; two sons, Russell of Owensboro and Douglas of Hendersonville, Tenn.; 30 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo, in 1978, and by two sons, Hugh, in 1980 and Clarence, in 2000.
Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Monday at St. Mary Magdelene Catholic Church, with burial in Mater Dolorosa cemetery in Owensboro.
Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. today, with a rosary service at 6 p.m., and from 9 a.m. to noon Monday at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mount St. Joseph Retirement Fund or a favorite charity.
Ruth Stevens
HENDERSON — Ruth Evelyn Stevens, 73, of Henderson, formerly of Providcence, died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, at Medco Center in Morganfield.
Surviving are four daughters, Deborah Heidrich of Pride, Pamela Wilson of Nebo, Wilma Haggard of Evansville and Dottie Gillette of Henderson; three stepdaughters, Debbie Stevens of Texas, Becky Kramer of Michigan and Wendy Schmittou of Indianapolis; a son, Jamie Pendergraff of Morganfield; a sister, Ruby Poinsett of St. Louis; two brothers, Jackie Watson of Provicence and Donnie Watson of Henderson; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Richie.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Lakeview cemetery in Providence.
There will be no visitation at Melton Funeral Home in Providence.
Vernie Putty
PROVIDENCE — Vernie Lee “Shotgun” Putty, 71, died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, at his home. He had cancer.
He was a retired truck driver for Dotson Express Motor Freight in Henderson.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5484.
He was a member of Star Hope Church.
Surviving are his wife, Lois (Pate); five daughters, Connie Veselka of Axtell, Texas, Janice Ripley of Rockdale, Texas, Bonnie Woolridge of Morganfield, LeAnne Crabtree of Providence and Lisa Hess of Clay; a son, Ricky Lee of Waco, Texas; three brothers, Donald G. of Mortons Gap and Lynville J. and Launie R., both of Hopkinsville; 18 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Townsend-Jones Funeral Home, with burial in Star Hope cemetery near Providence.

Margaret Ashby
HENDERSON — Margaret June Ashby, 60, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, at her home. She had cancer. She had
worked in the deli at Eastgate Sureway for 14 years.
She was a member of the Bennett Memorial United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband of 44 years, Gerald J.; two daughters, Jarrett Powers of Evansville and Penni Foster of Henderson; a son, Tim of Henderson County; a sister, Imogene Lashus of Lake Jackson, Texas; five brothers, Jerald Ray Sandefur of Henderson, Tommy Sandefur of Hanson, Charles Sandefur of Madisonville, Earl Glenn Sandefur of Fayetteville, N.C., and Billy Sandefur of Vermillion, Ohio; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home, with entombment in Fairmont cemetery.

HENDERSON — Loella Ferguson Rogers, 82, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, at Redbanks Nursing Home.
Surviving are four daughters, Martha Snyder of Little Dixie and Flora Cart, Carol Fambrough and Patricia Willett, all of Henderson; a son, Tom Ferguson of Henderson; 21 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home, with burial in Shady Grove cemetery in Poole.

Danny Stone
HENDERSON — Danny Bartis Stone, 46, died Thursday, Nov. 2000, at Methodist Hospital of injuries suf-
fered in a motorcycle accident.
He was a member of Countryview General Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of seven years, Kelly; three daughters, Kelsey, Courtney and Dana Stone, all of Henderson; a son, Alexander of Henderson; his mother, Aliene Stone of Henderson; and a brother, David Allen of Henderson.
Arrangements are pending at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home.
Mattie Wright
MORGANFIELD — Mattie Gilliam Wright, 82, died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, at Redbanks Nursing Home in Henderson.
She was a member of Henshaw Christian Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Sherry Whitledge of Morganfield and Jean Shelton of Henshaw; a son, Frank of Henderson; a sister, Dora Hart of Marion; a brother, Russell of Gilbertsville; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Her husband, John R., died in 1986.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Whitsell Funeral Home, with burial in Odd Fellow cemetery.

Thelma Glazebrook
MORGANFIELD — Thelma Glazebrook, 81, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
She was a member of First Baptist Church and a volunteer for St. Anthony’s Hospice.
Surviving are a son, David of White Plains; a granddaughter, Anissa Eli; and two great-grandchildren.
Her husband, L.D., died in 1987.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Whitsell Funeral Home, with burial in Odd Fellow cemetery.

Birdie Holman
DAWSON SPRINGS — Birdie May Holman, 88, died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
She was a member of Midway Pentecostal Church.
Surviving are a son, Bill of Dawson Springs; a sister, Bertha Lacy of Princeton; two brothers, Elmer Davis of Dawson Springs and Jewel Davis of Kansas; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hardie, in 1966 and a daughter, Jerri Lay, in 1995.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Midway Pentecostal Church, with burial in McGregor cemetery in Caldwell County.
