John Harrison Sr.
LEWISPORT — John R. Harrison Sr., 91, of Lewisport, formerly of Rockport, Ind., died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2000, at Heartland Villa.
He had worked for Kentucky Natural Gas, which later joined with Texas Gas, and retired in 1970 after 40 years.
He was a member of Zion Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Lydabelle (Taylor); a daughter, Ann Dix of Robinson, Ill.; a stepdaughter, Sue Hobgood of Houston; a son, John R. Jr. of Owensboro; a foster son, Jim Ludwig of Tell City, Ind.; three grandchild-ren; five step grandchildren; eight stepgreat-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rosemary (Graf), in 1964.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro, with burial in Rosehill cemetery there.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bellevue Baptist Church Building fund or Hospice Association, Inc. of Owensboro.
Infants Audrey and Ashley Pierce
CLAY — Audrey Don and Ashley Marion Pierce, infant twin daughters of Sammy and Jennifer Pierce of Clay, died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2000, at Community Methodist Hospital in Henderson shortly after they were born.
Also surviving are their grandparents, Bobby and Debra Meadows and Marshall and Elnora Pierce; and their great-grandmothers.
Services will be private.
There will be no visitation at Vanover Funeral Home.
Karen Belt
PRINCETON — Karen Ann Belt, 45, died of complications of brain cancer, Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000 at her home .
She had been a cashier at Winn-Dixie and was a member of Sugar Creek Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Bobby Joe; two daughters, Ginny Louk and Kelly Belt, both of Caldwell County; three sons, Chris Morris of Columbus, Ga., and Eric and Jason Morris, both of Caldwell County; three stepsisters, Nancy Hamm of Dallas, Debra Kowalczyk of Lusby, Md., and Pat Steeley of Princeton; five brothers, Bob Stone of Dallas, James Stone of Caldwell County, Tony Stone of Plano, Texas, Tommy Steeley of Hampton, Va., and Paul Steeley of Lyon, Colo.; three stepbrothers, Timmy Steeley of Hattesburg, Mo., Roger Steeley of Lake Orion, Mich., and Johnny Steeley of Lum, Mich.; and five grandchildren, Jonathan, Sheyann, Hank and Olibia Morris and Austin Louk.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Morgan’s Funeral Home, with burial in Cornerstone cemetery.
Catherine Grant
DIXON — Catherine Marie Grant, 89, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000, at Colonial Terrace in Sebree.
She retired from the Civil Service Administration as a switchboard operator.
She was General Baptist.
Surviving are three sisters, Eva G. Ford of Owensboro, Franky Vandiver of Safety Harbor, Fla., and Joyce G. White of Dixon; and a niece.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Townsend Funeral Home, with burial in Oak Grove cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Anna Sanderfur
SLAUGHTERS — Anna Mae Sanderfur, 86, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000, at Madisonville Regional Medical Center.
She was a member and taught Sunday school at Mount Gilead General Baptist Church and was a member of the Women’s Missionary Society.
Surviving are her husband, James “Jim”; two daughters, Mary Anna Baldwin and Betty Jean Carver, both of Slaughters; four grandchildren, Kerry and Jonathan Carver, Cindy Bumpus and Cathy Johnson; seven great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Tompkins Funeral Home Slaughters-Hanson Chapel, with burial in Slaughters cemetery.

William Arflack
MARION — William “Clifton” Arflack, 77, died of heart failure, Friday, Dec. 8, 2000, at Crittenden County Hospital.
He retired from Moore Business Forms.
Surviving are a daughter, Sherri Farris of Paducah; two sons, Billy of Marion and Ricky of Rainbow City, Ala.; three sisters, Evelyn Rorer, Juanita Bebout and Geraldine Hunt, all of Marion; two brothers, Edward Bond of Winchester, Ind., and Carlos Bond of Marion; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Gilbert Funeral Home, with burial in Pleasant Hill cemetery.

Thomas Gish
HENDERSON — Thomas Alan “Tiny” Gish, 49, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, of injuries sustained in Feb. 1, 1999 in a work-related accident.
He was a member of Masonic Lodge 958 and Henderson Local 181.
Surviving are his wife of 26 years, Tina; a son, Thomas Daniel of Henderson; his mother, Beulah Burnette of Henderson; a sister, Denice Stone of Evansville; three brothers, William David and Dennis Wayne Gish and Heath Burnette, all of Henderson; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home, with burial in Fairmont cemetery.
Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. today, with a Masonic service at 7 p.m., and from 8 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Charles Melton
HENDERSON — Charles I. “Charlie” Melton, 93, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000, at Methodist Hospital.
He was a member of Audubon Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Dorothy L. Monzon of Norfolk, Va.; two sons, Robert “Bob” of Henderson and Kenneth Edward “Butch” of Elizabethtown; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews.
His wife, Etheleen, died in 1973.
Services will be at 2 pm. Sunday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home, with burial in Fernwood cemetery.

Dixie Busby
HENDERSON — Dixie Cates Busby, 85, died Friday, Dec. 8, 2000 at the home of her daughter, Mary Ann Bradley, of Henderson.
She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Hebbardsville and the Hebbardsville Homemakers Club for more than 50 years.
Also surviving are a daughter, Alice Skaggs of Reed; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Her husband, George W., died in 1997.
Services will be at 10 am.. Monday at Tapp Funeral Home, with entombment in Fernwood cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today, noon to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. to service time Monday at the funeral home.

Barbara Cowan
CLAY — Barbara Jean Cowan, 67, died of heart failure, Friday, Dec. 8, 2000, at National Health Care Nursing Home in Columbia, Tenn..
She worked for Drs. Cole and Cobb for 17 years in Providence and at Townsends Grocery in Clay for 18 years.
She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Providence.
Surviving are a son, Mike of Columbia; and three grandchildren, Shea, Kristopher and Daulton Cowan.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Providence.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to service time at the church. Vanover Funeral home is handling arrangements.
Cleona Coomes
HENDERSON — Cleona “Tona” Coomes, 76, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville.
She was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Cindy Zehner of Henderson; two sons, Bob and Bill, both of Tampa, Fla.; and three grandchildren.
Her husband, Roger, died in 1992.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, with burial in St. Louis cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today, from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, with a prayer service at 5 p.m., and from 8 to 9:45 a.m. Monday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home.
