Louis Gamblin
MADISONVILLE Louis E. Bob Gamblin, 63, died Thursday, April 27, 2000, at Regional Medical Center.
He retired in 1993 as operations manager for McCoy & McCoy Environmental Consultants and co-owned Southern Pit Bar-B-Q.
He was a 25-year veteran of the Army National Guard, serving one year of active duty during the Berlin Crisis and retiring as a sergeant 1st class. He was also a former lieutenant for the Madisonville Fire Department.
He was a Baptist.
Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Barbara (Hargrove); three daughters, Vicki Hancock Harrell of Owensboro, Terri Hancock Grace of Cadiz and Kimberli Gamblin Adams of Madisonville; four sons, Louis Jr. of Suthards, Michael E. Hancock and Kevin Gamblin, both of Madisonville, and Steve Gamblin of Nortonville; 11 grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home, with burial in Odd Fellows cemetery.

Dora Collins
HENDERSON Dora Collins, 89, died Wednesday, April 26, 2000, at Methodist Hospital.
She was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church and a former member of the V.D. Kennedy Circle.
Surviving are her caregivers, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Chambers of Henderson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the First Missionary Baptist Church, with burial in Fernwood cemetery.

Corinne Cole
PROVIDENCE Corinne Cole, 91, died Thursday, April 27, 2000, at Four Courts Senior Center in Louisville.
She was an Avon representative.
She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church in Providence, where she was a Sunday school teacher, secretary of the Sunday school for 20 years, president of the Womens Missionary Union and a member of the Little Bethel Association.
Surviving are a daughter, Carolyn Sue Winstead of Dixon; two sons, the Rev. Donald Cole of Brandenburg and Dr. Darrell Cole of Woodbine, Md.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Labe, in 1995, and by a son, Jimmie, in 1992.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Townsend-Jones Funeral Home, with burial in Lakeview cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to Four Courts Senior Center.
Juanita Conkright
OWENSBORO, Ky. Juanita Mae Conkright, 76, died Tuesday, April 18, 2000, at Bon Harbor Nursing and Rehabilitation.
She was a member of St. Stephen Cathedral.
Surviving are three sons, Dale Patrick, Dr. James Michael and Samuel R. Jr., all of Owensboro; two sisters, Helen Brown of Owensboro and Jane Clements of Ocala, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home.

Ralph Tinsley
MARION, Ky. Ralph Mitchell Tinsley, 56, died Tuesday, April 18, 2000, at Crittenden County Hospital.
Surviving are three sons, Ralph Tinsley Jr. of Duluth, Minn., Michael Shane Workman of Lexington and Dalana Tinsley of Sturgis; his father, Jack Tinsley of Orient, Ill.; a sister, Sandra Holloman of Marion; two half sisters, Connie Marchetti of Marion, Ill., and Lisa Jones of Benton, Ill.; two half brothers, Harold Glore of Tolu and Ed Tinsley of West Frankfort, Ill.; and a stepbrother, Keith Watson of Hebron Springs, Ark.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Gilbert Funeral Home, with burial in Whites Chapel cemetery.

Lillie Elmore
ISLAND, Ky. Lillie Emery Elmore, 91, died Tuesday, April 18, 2000, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville.
She was a member of Island United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Geraldine Roark of Otisco, Ind.; a son, Elvis Willis of Island; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Lola Summers
MADISONVILLE, Ky. Lola Summers, 98, died Wednesday, April 19, 2000, at Versnick Health Care.
She was a member of Park Avenue Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Odell S. Crockett of Madisonville; two sisters, Ola Hicks of Madisonville and Leota Fuller of Baskett; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Her husband, Clarence Morton Summers, died in 1986.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home, with burial in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Emily Allen
MADISONVILLE, Ky. Emily Allen, 84, died Tuesday, April 18, 2000, at Regional Medical Center.
She was a member and former organist of the Second Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Jerold; two sons, James Stevens of Bono, Ark., and Thomas Stevens of Madisonville; three granddaughters, Gina Tittle, Holly Corter and Katherine Huskey; and nine great-grandchildren.

Ruth Bell
CALHOUN, Ky. Ruth Story Bell, 82, of Lake Chapala, Jalisco, Mexico, formerly of Calhoun and Livermore, died Wednesday, April 19, 2000, at Alecia Nursing Home in Lake Chapala.
She was a member of Calhoun Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, Jerry of Lake Chapala; two sisters, Alma Tucker of Owensboro and Lorene Atherton of Calhoun; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Morton Mutt, in 1986, and by a son, Larry, in 1995.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Muster Funeral Home Calhoun Chapel, with burial in Calhoun cemetery.

Orville Phillips
HENDERSON, Ky. Orville Ray Phillips, 69, died Friday, April 21, 2000, at Deaconess Hospital Select Specialty Unit in
Evansville of heart trouble.
He was a member of Ambassador Baptist Church, where he served as deacon and music director. He was past president of the Henderson Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind, a member of the Henderson Breakfast Lions Club, a Kentucky Colonel and received an honorary degree as a doctor of humanities in music.
Surviving are his wife of 19 years, Virginia; a stepson, Steve Reeder of Henderson; a sister, Augusta Dee Phillips of Henderson; three step grandchildren; a stepgreat-grandchild; and a niece and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Immanuel Baptist Temple, with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Sylvia Lamb
MORGANFIELD, Ky. Sylvia Lamb, 95, died Saturday, April 22, 2000, at Hillcrest Health Care Center in Owensboro.
She was a member of Morganfield Christian Church, where she taught Sunday school for 27 years.
Surviving are three daughters, Betty Ann Lee of Owensboro, Margaret Maxwell of Junction City, Kan., and Janie Sellers of Eddyville; two sisters, Vera Deering of Hickory and Dorothy Bright of Morganfield; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a niece.
Her husband, James, died in 1967.
