Joseph Blackburn
FREDONIA — Joseph Mac Blackburn, 80, died Sunday, June 4, 2000, at Springlake Care Center in Salem.
He was a retired truck driver.
He was a member of Fredonia Cumberland Presbyterian Church and the American Legion.
He was a World War II Army veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Rebecca (Beavers); two daughters, Janet Wright of Marion and Marilyn Holman of Gainesville, Ga.; a son, Pat of Fredonia; a sister, Eva West of Vancouver, Wash.; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Scott, in 1998.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton, with burial in Fredonia cemetery.

Hazel Ladd
PRINCETON — Hazel Ladd, 66, died Saturday, June 3, 2000, at her home.
She retired from Calvert City Convalescent Center as a nurse’s aide.
Surviving are two daughters, Kathy Tubbs and Teresa Atwood, both of Grand Rivers; two sons, David of Gilbertsville, Ky., and Wallace of St. Genevieve, Mo.; her mother, Willie Asher of Princeton; two sisters, Edna Brasher of Fredonia and Carolyn Beckner of Caldwell County; two brothers, Henry Asher of Princeton and Kenneth Asher of Murray; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clint, in 1982, and by a son, Leamon Ray, in 1966.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Morgan’s Funeral Home, with burial in Fredonia cemetery.

Mable Greenwood
SEBREE — Mable Louise Greenwood, 73, died Friday, June 2, 2000, at her home of congestive heart failure.
Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Charles; a daughter, Connie Anderson of Evansville; two sons, David of Evansville and Robert of Sebree; seven grandchildren, Kerri Brown, Barbara Ann Nutter, Layne and Scott Greenwood, Dejong Anderson, Meredith Sutton and Kristi Petitjean; 11 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Simpson Meyer Funeral Home in Evansville, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park cemetery in Evansville.

Mary Richardson
HAWESVILLE — Mary L. Richardson, 90, died Friday, June 2, 2000, at her home.
She was a member of Friendly Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Betty Roberts of Lewisport, Lillian Driskell of Hawesville and Emily Newman of Tabares, Fla.; two sons, Dean of Hawesville and Billy of Evansville; a half sister, Martha Stewart of Lewisport; a half brother, Betram Ewan of Thruston; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, with burial in Union Baptist Church cemetery.

Carolyn Swaney
CLAY — Carolyn Swaney, 66, died Friday, June 2, 2000, at her home. She was under hospice care.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Tom; two daughters, Susan Rich and Sara Davis, both of Clay; her mother, Nellie Vaughn of Sebree; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Vanover Funeral Home, with burial in White Oak cemetery in Webster County.

Caroline Wilson
HENDERSON — Caroline (Clore) Wilson, 76, died Friday, June 2, 2000, at Methodist Hospital. She was a hospice patient.
She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and was a Methodist Hospital Auxiliary volunteer.
Surviving are four sons, W. Cassidy III and S. Kurtis, both of Henderson, C. Graeme of St. Charles, Mo., and Gregory C. of Fairfax Station, Va.; a brother, Duncan Clore of Hopkinsville and nine grandchildren.
Her husband, William C. Jr., died in 1996.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, with burial in Fernwood cemetery.
Friends may call from noon to 3 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home.

Audrey Morris
ISLAND — Audrey N. Morris, 70, died Friday, June 2, 2000, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn., of cardiac arrest.
She retired after 40 years with General Electric Corp. in Owensboro.
She was a member of Island United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Michael; a daughter, Cheryl Morris of Owensboro; two sons, Dennis of Vinita, Okla., and Thomas of Owensboro; a sister, Irene Tichenor of Fort Wayne, Ind.; a brother, Albert Neal of Greenville; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Muster Funeral Homes Livermore Chapel, with burial in Island Methodist cemetery.

Nelda Travis
PRINCETON — Nelda Jean Faughn Travis, 68, died Saturday, June 3, 2000, at Crittenden County Hospital in Marion. She had been hospitalized with pneumonia.
She had worked in St. Louis, as a sales clerk at Famous Barr.
She was a member of Caldwell Springs Baptist Church in Crittenden County.
Surviving are her husband, Carter L.; a brother, Larry Faughn of Princeton; and nieces.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Morgan’s Funeral Home, with entombment in Princeton Mausoleum.

Jane Adams
MADISONVILLE — Jane McCarty Adams, 76, died Friday, June 2, 2000, at Madisonville Regional Medical Center. She had been hospitalized with multiple problems.
She retired as district accountant for the Kentucky Department of Transportation.
She was a member of Silent Run Missionary Baptist Church.
Surviving is a daughter, Judy Ploesser of Hopkinsville; a stepdaughter, Sissy Lutz of Madisonville; a stepson David Adams of Anton and nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by two husbands, Bill McCarty in 1986, and Morton Adams in 1991.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home in Madisonville, with burial in Rose Hill cemetery in Central City.

Shirley Watson
HENDERSON — Shirley May Lloyd Watson, 62, died Thursday, June 1, 2000, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville of leukemia.
She was a staffing secretary with St. Mary’s Medical Center.
She was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church.
Surviving is her husband of 41 years, Harold; a daughter, Sherilyn L. Garrard of Evansville; a stepdaughter, Bonita A. Coghill of Henderson; a son, Harold George Jr. of Bridgeton, Mo.; two sisters, Patricia A. Albanese and Mary Frances DeRosa, both of Springfield, Ill.; four grandchildren; two step grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at noon Monday at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, with burial in St. Louis cemetery.
