Ella Turner
OWENSBORO — Ella D. Turner, 76, died Monday, Sept. 18, 2000, at her home of complications of pulmonary fibrosis.
She had worked for General Electric and was a member of St. Stephen Cathedral.
Surviving are four daughters, Pamela Mills and Tammy S. Barnard, both of Philpot, and Paula K. Kessinger and Catherine R. Allen, both of Owensboro; five sons, Michael G., Joseph D. and John Kevin, all of Owensboro, James L. of Masonville and Jeffery L. of Maceo; a sister, Mary I. Adkins of Owensboro; 22 grandchildren; four step grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
Her husband, Joseph K., died in 1978.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at St. Stephen Cathedral, with burial in Mater Dolorosa cemetery.
James Cambron
OWENSBORO — James D. “Jimmy” Cambron, 80, died Monday, Sept. 18, 2000, at Owensboro Mercy Health System.
He had owned Cambron Body Shop and was past president of the Independent Garage Owners and a former chairman of the Inter-Industry Collision Repair.
He was a World War II Army veteran. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Scottish Rite, Masonic Lodge, Rizpah Temple and the Daviess County Lions Club.
Surviving are his wife of 17 years, Lyndal (Ambs); four daughters, Phyllis Burdette of Seattle, Wash., Kay Copeland and Paula Wedding, both of Owensboro, and Pat Ford of Madisonville; a stepdaughter, Vicki Towery of Owensboro; a son, Larry G. of Owensboro; a stepson, Dwight Peveler of Owensboro; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
His first wife, Ruth (Tapp), died in 1982.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at James H. Davis Funeral Home, with burial in Rosehill cemetery.
Friends may call from noon to service time at the funeral home.

Katherine Craft
DIXON — Katherine (Cotton) Craft, 78, died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2000, at her home.
She had been a secretary at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington and was a member of Lancaster United Methodist Chruch.
Surviving are a son, Thomas Todd Jr. of Dixon; a sister, Frances Wilson of Lancaster; a brother, John Cotton of Danville; and three grandchildren, Heather and Michael Craft and Candy Marsh.
Services 10 a.m. Thursday at Ramsey Funeral Home, burial in Lancaster cemetery.

Wilber Skaggs
HENDERSON — Wilber Skaggs, 86, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000, at Methodist Hospital.
Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Mary L. of Corydon; two sons, Kenneth of Corydon and Ralph of Reed; two brothers, Frank of Robards and Richard of Utica; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home, with burial in Fernwood cemetery.

Barbara Curnell
MARION — Barbara Jean Curnell, 59, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000, at her home of heart failure.
She was a member of Salem Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Ollie; a daughter, Jeanne Farmer of Marion; four sisters, June Kerns of Calvert City, Janice Ellegood of Reidland, Shirley Kirk of Marion and Sandy Faith of Gilbertsville; two brothers, Dennis Smiley of Leadbetter and John Smiley of Cave Creek, Ariz.; and two grandchildren, Savannah and Mark Farmer.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Gilbert Funeral Home, with burial in Mapleview cemetery.

Elizabeth Coon
HAWESVILLE — Elizabeth Ann Coon, 50, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City, Ind., of complications of diabetes.
She was a member of New Life Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, George; a daughter, Amy Michelle Dartt of Hawesville; three sons, Kevin A. Coon of Tell City, Todd Critcheloe of Mount Carmel, Ill., and Eddie Critcheloe of Tobinsport, Ind.; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at New Life Baptist Church, with burial in Memory Gardens.

Darrell Grimes
DAWSON SPRINGS — Darrell L. Grimes, 56, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000, in Providence in a logging accident while cutting timber.
Surviving are his wife, Youlanda; four daughters, Synthia Simmons of Dawson Springs, Verna Brown of Providence, Crystal Folker of Bowling Green and Darla Grimes of Phoenix; four sons, Darrell W., James Robert, Daniel and Jason, all of Dawson Springs; six sisters, Geraldine Hankins and Regina Kelly, both of Dawson Springs, Nancy Watson and Carolyn Hill, both of Providence, Kitty Crook of St. Charles and Revena Grimes of Florida; two brothers, Waldron and Marlin, both of Dawson Springs; and 14 grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Melton Funeral Home, with burial in Lafayette cemetery in Hopkins County.

John Holloman
PROVIDENCE — John W. Holloman, 91, died Friday, Sept. 8, 2000, at Madisonville Regional Medical Center.
He retired as a miner in 1972 from the Island Creek Coal Co.
He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and the United Mine Workers.
Surviving are his wife, Eula M.; three daughters, Louise Randolph of Indianapolis, Lelia Grey of Huntsville, Ala., and Betty S. Hill of Providence; two sons, Robert Miller and Edward White, both of Indianapolis; 30 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and nieces.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Townsend-Jones Funeral Home, with burial in Cumberland Hill cemetery.

Wanda Lear
NIAGARA — Wanda June Lear, 65, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, at her home of cancer.
Surviving are her husband of 50 years, Roscoe; a daughter, Marilyn Baker of Niagara; a son, Jeff of Henderson; four sisters, Nell Humphris of Sherrills Ford, N.C., Ruby McCraw of Mount Holly, N.C., and Wilma Blackwell and Ann Crawford, both of North Carolina; a brother, James Vincent of Virginia; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild and nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. There will be no visitation at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony’s Hospice.
Connie Wolf
SEBREE — Connie Sue Wolf, 60, of Henderson, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, at her home of an apparent heart attack.
She had been a private sitter.
She was Pentecostal.
Surviving are a daughter, Rhonda Holland Bailey of Auburn, Ga.; her mother, Barbara Means Wolf of Sebree; two sisters, Marilyn Wolf Smith of Sebree and Norma Wolf McMillan of Wilmington, N.C.; five brothers, Ronnie of Sebree, Alan of Uniontown, James of Robards, Harold of Henderson and Darrell of Evansville; a granddaughter, Brandy Rigdon of Auburn; and her companion, Gordon Sutton.
Two husbands, Clyde Holland and Edward Wilson, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Tompkins Funeral Homes Sebree-Poole Chapel, with burial Smith Mills cemetery.

Charles Hunley Sr.
MORGANFIELD — Charles W. Hunley Sr., 70, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000, at his home of cancer.
He was co-owner of Hunley Builders & Cornerpost Fence.
He retired after 23 years of service in the Army. He was a Korean War veteran and served in the Cuban Crisis.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church and Berean Bible Class.
He was a Mason, Eastern Star and Odd Fellow.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Jessie; two daughters, Betty Leggett of Dixon and Jeanette Johnson of Henderson; a son, Walter of Morganfield; two sisters, Kathryn Thomas and Barbara Hunley, both of Kansas; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Margaret Ann Hunley, died in 1959.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church, with burial in Boxville cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 a.m. to noon at Whitsell Funeral Home.
