Frances Bell
SEBREE — Frances Bell, 84, died Friday, June 16, 2000, at her home.
She had owned Bells Drug Store & Gift Shop in Sebree and had been a teacher at the old Dixon High School.
She was a graduate of Dixon High School and Western Kentucky University.
She was a member and Sunday school teacher for more the 50 years at Sebree First Baptist Church.
Surviving is a son, Jimmy Ray of Sebree.
Her husband, Carrol, .died in 1972.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Sebree First Baptist Church, with burial in Springdale cemetery.

Helen Stephens
MADISONVILLE — Helen Stephens, 66, died Thursday, June 15, 2000, at National Health Care Nursing Home of complication of diabetes and a heart condition.
She had worked as a bookkeeper for Hit Records of Chicago and was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Charles Newton; a stepdaughter, Teresa King of Madisonville; her father, Samuel Wolf of Chicago; two brothers, John Wolf of Cook, Minn., and Tom Wolf of Merrillville, Ind.; a grandson, Brandon King; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 4 p.m. today at Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington, with burial in New Suthards cemetery.

James Cherry
CALHOUN — James “Ranny” Cherry, 55, died Thursday, June 15, 2000, at his home of cancer.
He was a heavy equipment operator and Pentecostal.
He was an Army veteran and member of the Vienna Masonic Lodge.
Surviving are two sons, Mike and David, both of Calhoun; his mother, Prudin Frashure of Calhoun; two half sisters, Donna Hicks of Owensboro and Kim Reeves of Calhoun; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Muster Funeral Home Calhoun Chapel, with burial in Calhoun cemetery.

Ruby Bailey
DAWSON SPRINGS — Ruby Christine (Boyd) Bailey, 69, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, at National Health Care Center of cancer.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sisters, Margaret Jane Gregory and Carmon Ercill Simmons, both of Indianapolis; two brothers, Morris L. Boyd of Indianapolis and John M. Boyd of Dawson Springs; and nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Howard S., died in 1996.
Services 10 a.m. Friday at Beshear Funeral Home, burial in Rosedale cemetery.

Ray Goodaker
DAWSON SPRINGS — Ray Webster Goodaker, 85, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, at his home.
He had been a coal miner, trucker, heavy equipment operator and welder. He had owned businesses in Dallas, was a zone manager covering15 stores for Circle K convenience stores and operated a Circle K store in Arizona for three years.
He had been a pilot and member of the Civil Air Patrol.
Surviving are a daughter, Linda Faye Goodaker of California; two sons, Donald Ray of Dawson Springs and Owen Darrell of Madisonville; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
His son, Ronald, preceded him in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Beshear Funeral Home, with burial in Rosedale cemetery.

James Grayson
POOLE — James Vernon Grayson, 76, of Louisville, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, at Thomson Hood Veteran Affairs Center in Wilmore, Ky.
He was a machinist.
He was a World War II veteran and member of the American Legion and Masonic Lodge.
He was a member of the West Side Baptist Church in Louisville.
Surviving are his brother, Ernest Grayson of Louisville; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, burial in Shady Grove cemetery in Poole. There will be no visitation.
Bobbie Dabbs
HENDERSON — Bobbie Jean Fridy Dabbs, 74, formerly of Ashbyburg, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, at Methodist Hospital of heart failure.
She owned Fairfax Kennels in Henderson.
Surviving are her husband of 54 years, George H.; a daughter, Ann Groves of Sturgis; a son, Barry of Henderson; a brother, Roger Fridy of Ashbyburg; four grandchildren, Michael and Brad Dabbs and Chris and Kevin Groves; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Tompkins Funeral Home Sebree-Poole Chapel, with burial in Onton cemetery.

Raymond Stills
DIXON — Raymond C. “Steelball” Stills, 69, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, at Madisonville Regional Medical Center of complications of emphysema.
He was a coal miner for the Pyro Coal Co. for more than 40 years.
He was a Kentucky Colonel and supporter of the Kentucky Sheriff’s Boys Club.
Surviving are his wife of 21 years, Floyedith; two daughters, Beth D. Phillips of Hanson and Suzanne Tyson of Madisonville; two sons, Michael Ray of Nebo and Donald Lee of Tennessee; six stepsons, Phillip and Mark Allen Kohutek, both of Fort Worth, Texas, Dennis Keith Kohutek of Madisonville, Jerry Lee Kohutek of Brownsville, Texas, Brian Scott Kohutek of Danville and Roger Anthony Kohutek of Port Mansfield, Texas; his mother, Beulah Stills of Dawson Springs; three sisters, Anna Lipford, Nancy Smiley and Yvonne Timmons, all of Dawson Springs; a brother, Roy of Hanson; 10 grandchildren; 11 step grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home, with burial in Piney Grove cemetery in Caldwell County.

NEBO — Bonnie Lee Francis, 83, died Monday, Sept. 18, 2000, at the Versnick Health Care Center in Madisonville.
She was a member of Mount Gilead General Baptist Church in Slaughters.
Surviving are nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville, with burial in Mount Gilead General Baptist Church cemetery.

Dorothy Melton
SEBREE — Dorothy Melton, 82, of Radcliff, died Monday, Sept. 18, 2000, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
She was a member of Radcliff United Methodist Church, Eastern Star in Sebree and the homemakers clubs of Sebree, Brenton and Radcliff.
Surviving are her husband of 64 years, Elsworth “Peck”; a daughter Sheila M. Strouse of Jacksonville, Fla.; two grandsons, Thomas Gregory and Jeffrey Melton Strouse; and a great-grandson.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Tompkins Funeral Home, with burial in Springdale cemetery.

W.C. Perkins
CORYDON — W.C. “Perk” Perkins, 82, died Monday, Sept. 18, 2000, at Methodist Hospital.
He was a farmer and member of the Farm Bureau. He was a lifelong member of Corydon Missionary Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Mildred; a sister, Cornelia Tapp of Florida; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home in Henderson, with burial in Corydon cemetery.
