Margaret Brackett
MORGANFIELD, Ky. — Margaret Abell “Mama B” Brackett, 94, died Tuesday, Feb. 29, 2000, at the home of her granddaughter, Kathy Creasey of Sturgis.
Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Bill, Richard and Mark Lichtefeld, Mary Margaret Logsdon, Jon and Melissa Greenwell and Krissie Piper; 18 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
A daughter, Mary Anne Greenwell, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Ann Catholic Church, with burial in St. Ann cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to service time at Whitsell Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church or St. Anthony’s Hospice.
Isaac Knight
HENDERSON, Ky. — Isaac Jewell Knight, 67, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, at his home in Marion. The cause of death is being determined by the Crittenden County coroner.
He retired from Alcan Aluminum.
He was a member of Eastview Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Bernice Ann; three daughters, Jewell Ann Knight of Owensboro, Janet Knight of Evansville and Sherri Long of Panama City, Fla.; a sister, Polly Moore of Henderson; a brother, Kenneth Knight of Henderson; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Tapp Funeral Home, with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Woodrow Stinnett
DAWSON SPRINGS, Ky. — Woodrow Stinnett, 85, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000, at Madisonville Regional Medical Center.
He had been a coal miner.
He was Baptist.
Surviving are a son, James of Dawson Springs; and two grandchildren, Patricia Eiden of Louisville and Michelle Dowell of Paducah.
Private services will be at 1 p.m. today at Beshear Funeral Home, with burial in Rosedale cemetery.
Frances Peay
REED, Ky. — Frances M. Peay, 63, died Monday, Feb. 21 2000, at Select Specialty Hospital of Evansville of heart failure.
She was a registered nurse.
She was Catholic.
Surviving are her husband of 24 years, Aubrey R. “Joe”; two stepdaughters, Joni Peay and Lori Jones, both of Evansville; two sons, Roy Downey of Henderson and Tony Downey of Corydon; a stepson, Ricky Joe Peay of Newburgh; five sisters, Ruth Evans, Lois Evans, Carolyn Gish and Brenda Welch, all of Henderson, and Bell Hawkins of Tennessee; two brothers, Richard Smith of Bluff City and David Smith of Missouri; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at noon today at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home, with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call from 8 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
Malcolm Gibson
PROVIDENCE, Ky. — Malcolm Gibson, 89, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, at Madisonville Regional Medical Center.
He was a livestock dealer and auctioneer and co-owner of the Gibson Brothers Livestock Co. in Providence. He trained and exhibited quarter horses and enjoyed trail riding.
He was a member of the Stover Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Anne Conrad of Providence; a son, Mack of Providence; three grandchildren, Suzanne Kuester, John Conrad and Sarah Gibson; and two great-grandchildren.
His wife, Claudia, died in 1994.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Providence, with burial in Big Hill cemetery.

James Lutz
Manitou, Ky. — James O. “Jay” Lutz, 91, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, at Madisonville Regional Medical Center.
He retired from the P&M; Coal Co. in 1970.
He was a member of the Antioch Primitive Baptist Church and had been song leader there and at several other Primitive Baptist Churches in the area.
Surviving are a daughter, Anita Harris of Manitou; seven sisters, Nettie Clayton of Cary, N.C., Mabel Lutz and Rachel Stum, both of Madisonville, Luetta Weedman and Betty Hawkins, both of Nashville, Tenn., and Dorothy Russell and Janet Reis, both of Bristol, Tenn.; a brother, Emerson of Madisonville; and nieces and nephews.
His wife Ruby Marie (Allinder), died in 1976.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Harris Funeral Home, with burial in Odd Fellows cemetery in Madisonville.

Goldie Rich
MADISONVILLE, Ky. — Goldie Mae Rich, 85, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, at her home.
She was a member of the Briar Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are a brother, Wallace J. Whitmer of Louisville, and nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Floyd “Tickie, ” died in 1984.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home, with burial in Briar Creek cemetery in Muhlenberg County.

James Dixon
HENDERSON, Ky. — James H. Dixon, 73, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, at Methodist Hospital of pneumonia.
Surviving are three sons, James E. Dixon of Corydon, Wayne Garrett of Morganfield and Thomas Ray Rudd of Harrisburg, Ill.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
His wife, Bobbie Jean, died in 1995.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Bowman Chapel CME Church in Morganfield, with burial in Odd Fellows cemetery in Morganfield.

Elzie Belt
Providence, Ky. — Elzie Banty Belt, 76, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, at his home of cardiac arrest.
Surviving are his wife, Wanda Mae; six daughters, Wanda Menser and Betty Belt, both of Dawson Springs, Mary Blanchard of Clay, Debbie Hopkins of Providence, Reba Bivins of Marion and Brenda Fox of Hopkinsville; six sons, Elzie Jr. of Lowell, Ind., Bobby Joe of Fredonia, Sammy of Dawson Springs, Ralph of LaGrange and Johnny and Roger, both of Providence; three sisters, Dorothy Pryor and Lois Ann Littlepage, both of Providence, and Polly Page Lee of Lexington, N.C.; four brothers, Bobby and Charlie, both of Sturgis, and Eddie and Allen, both of Providence; 33 grandchildren; and 47 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Melton Funeral Home, with burial in Dorris cemetery.

Ronnie Robinson
PRINCETON, Ky. — Ronnie Robinson, 48, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000, at his home of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
He was a carpenter and had worked for the Princeton Lumber Co. for 25 years.
He was a member of Prospect Missionary Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Amanda Robinson of Providence; a son, Junior of Providence; his mother, Opal Dorris Robinson of Princeton; two sisters, Patsy Brown of Hopkins County and Zida Bonn of Mayfield; three brothers, Jimmy and Lesley, both of Hopkins County, and Wesley of Caldwell County; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Morgan’s Funeral Home, with burial in Liberty cemetery.
Jesse Owens
HENDERSON, Ky. — Jesse Lee Owens, 97, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, at Methodist Hospital.
He was a member of the New Hope Pentecostal Church.
Surviving are his wife, Brenda Faye; three daughters, Lucille Spainhoward, Helen Limp and Virginia Chandler, all of Henderson; four sons, Bethel and Jesse J., both of Henderson, and Bernard of Evansville and Clifton of Boron, Calif.; 32 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren; 34 great-great-grandchildren; and a great-great-great-grandchild.
His first wife, Lorene, died in 1978, and a son, Melvin, died in 1963.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Tapp Funeral Home, with burial in Fairmont cemetery.
