Lucy Grigsby
OWENSBORO, Ky. — Lucy D. Grigsby, 92, died Tuesday, Feb. 29, 2000, at Owensboro Mercy Health System.
She retired from General Electric Co. after 25 years.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Owensboro Civitan Club. She was a volunteer at the Help Office in Owensboro.
Surviving are three daughters, Geraldine Massie nd Jeanette Lambrich, both of Philpot, and Betty “Dixie” Westerfield of Owensboro; a son, Johnny of LaFolette, Tenn.; a sister, Sarah Scott of Owensboro; a brother, Edward Duff of Columbia City, Ind.; 19 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Verda, died in 1964 a daughter, Jessie Grigsby, died in 1946 and two sons, Glenn, died in 1967 and Denver, died in 1980.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at James H. Davis Funeral Home, with burial in Elmwood cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Phyllis Crabtree
OWENSBORO, Ky. — Phyllis S. Crabtree, 59, formerly of Grandview, Ind., died Tuesday, Feb. 29, 2000, at her home of cancer. She retired from the Owensboro Yellow Cab Co. as a cab driver.
Surviving are two daughters, Carlene Philhower of Owensboro and Stephanie Mattingley of Litchfield; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and her companion, Roy Bock.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, Ind., with burial in Grandview cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Barbara Hall
HENDERSON, Ky. — Barbara Lynn (Nelson) Hall, 42, died Tuesday, Feb. 29, 2000 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville of cancer.
She was Baptist.
Surviving are a daughter, Jennifer Hall of Henderson; a son, Joey of Henderson; her parents, John R. Nelson and Loretta Hatley, both of Henderson; four sisters, Kathy Nelson, Fay Lee and Becky Hutcheson, all of Henderson and Mary Nelson Watson of Evansville; two brothers, David Green of Henderson and Jesse Green of Colorado.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home, burial will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony’s Hospice.
Roy Walker
MANITOU, Ky. — Roy Willis “Jack” Walker, 93, died Tuesday, Feb. 29, 2000, at his home.
He was a carpenter and had worked at Bradley Stone’s Race Horse Farm, George Beeny’s farm and the Kentucky Highway Department.
Surviving are a son, William Edwin “Bill” of Manitou; a brother, Ervin of Madisonville; three grandchildren, Timothy, and Marty Walker and Tammy Hill; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
His wife, Rosette (Jones) died in 1963.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Harris Funeral Home, with burial in Burton cemetery.

Katherine Ternes
HENDERSON, Ky. — Katherine L. (Kitchens) Ternes, 84, died Tuesday, Feb. 29, 2000, at Methodist Hospital.
She retired from the Chrysler Corp. in 1974 after 27 years.
She was a member of the Advanced Baptist Church in Baskett, Henderson Historical Society, Eastern Star, Democratic Women’s Club and Methodist Hospital Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are three sisters, Treacie Ligon of Baskett, Alberta Smith of Evansville and Dorothy Kitchens of Henderson; and nieces and nephews.
Her husband, William, died in 1996.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home, with burial in Fairmont cemetery.

Ann Schmetzer
MADISONVILLE, Ky. — Ann Elsie Schmetzer, 84, died Wednesday, March 1, 2000, at the Senior Citizens Nursing Home.
She had been a clerical worker in a factory. She was a member of the Audubon Society an Richland Baptist Church.
There are no immediate survivors.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home, with burial in Odd Fellows cemetery.

Roberta Lofton
MORGANFIELD, Ky. — Roberta W. “Bert” Lofton, 66, died Wednesday at the home of her daughter, Arletta Bickett of Morganfield of cancer.
She had worked at Wal-Mart for 11 years and at Fill-em-Up Mart in Sturgis for nine years.
Also surviving are three sons, Mark of Shawneetown, Ill., Ray of Morganfield and Wayne of Henderson; a brother, Tommy Williams of Evansville; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Whitsell Funeral Home, with burial in Odd Fellows cemetery.

Frances Davis
MADISONVILLE, Ky. — Frances G. Davis, 75, died Tuesday, Feb. 29, 2000, at her home. She was a hospice patient.
She had been a registered nurse at Hopkins County Hospital
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Madisonville Garden Club.
Surviving are her husband, Shelby C.; three daughters, Barbara Ann Davis of Huntington, W.Va., Sandra Davis Wardell of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and Mary Belle Davis of Lexington; two sisters, Harriet Hoeweler of Cincinnati and Mary G. White of California; a brother, Frank Grizzell of Lexington and a grandson, Alan Wardell.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home, with burial in Murray City cemetery.

James Campbell
HENDERSON, Ky. — James Thomas Campbell, 55, died Monday at his sister’s home of heart failure.
He retired from World Color Inc. as a machine operator.
He was a member of the Fifth Street Baptist Church in Louisville and the Masonic Lodge.
Surviving are five stepdaughters, Beniola “Bean” and Kathy Bacon, Mary Eskridge, Willie Gerton and Emily Washington, all of Louisville; three stepsons, John and Duncan Eskridge, both of Louisville, and Christopher Eskridge of Chicago; his mother, Mildred P. Odom of Woodburn, Ky.; two sisters, Frances O. Baker of Henderson and Carole P. Whitlock of Evansville; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 1 p.m. EST Friday at Greenhill Baptist Church in Frankfort, with burial in Greenhill cemetery .
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to service time at the church in Frankfort and from 6 to 8 p.m. CST Thursday at New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Henderson.

Wanda Frederick
HENDERSON, Ky. — Wanda Sue Frederick, 55, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2000, at Methodist Hospital of an aneurysm.
She was a member of the Living Faith Tabernacle.
Surviving are four daughters, Irene Owens of Tilden and Brenda Buchanan, Tammy Helms and Evelyn Householder, all of Henderson; a son, Johnny Frederick of Corydon; a sister, Janie Meeks of Englewood, Colo.; five brothers, Carlon Sparks of Robards, Randy Sparks of Corydon and James, Dwayne and Lonnie Sparks, all of Henderson; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Thomas Edward, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Living Faith Tabernacle, with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home.
