Benny Gibson
HENDERSON Benny Gibson, 62, died Tuesday, April 25, 2000, at Methodist Hospital of kidney failure.
Surviving are three sisters, Patsy Sherrill, Pauline Ervin and June Fulkerson, all of Henderson; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Tapp Funeral Home, with burial in Fernwood cemetery.

Mary Statts
OWENSBORO Mary Ridgely Statts, 44, did Wednesday, April 26, 2000, at Leisure Years Nursing Home of cancer.
She was a Kentucky Colonel and she collected cat figurines.
Surviving are her father, Griffith Lighton Sr. of Owensboro; three sons, Timothy of Louisville and Nathan and Richard, both of Owensboro; and a brother, Griffith E. Lighton Jr. of Louisville.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Glenn Funeral Home, with burial in Adath Israel cemetery.

Josie LaNeve
STURGIS Josie LaNeve, 94, of Sullivan, died Wednesday, April 26, 2000, at Methodist Hospital.
She taught school for 35 years and was a member of the Retired Teachers Association. She was the oldest member of the Mount Pleasant Cumberland Presbyterian Church, member of the Eastern Star and Rebekah Lodge.
Surviving are two daughters, Joetta Breeding of Sullivan and Jean Sauve of Lake Placid, Fla.; two sons, Nathan of Clay and Cecil of Providence; four grandchildren; three step grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
Her husband, Leroy, and a son, Leroy Jr., preceded her in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Pleasant Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Sullivan, with burial in the Sullivan Community cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to service time at Whitsell Funeral Home in Sturgis.
Memorial contributions may be made to the cemetery fund or the church.
Mary Carmen
HENDERSON Mary Elizabeth Carmen, 84, died Tuesday, April 25, 2000, at Redbanks Nursing Home.
She had worked at Bear Brand Hosiery Mill. She was a member of Bellfield Baptist Church.
Surviving are three sons, Terry W. and Wendell R., both of Henderson, and Jimmy of Joliet, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Her husband, James Walter Carmen, died in March.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home, with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

HENDERSON Jack Hammond, 71, died Tuesday, April 25 2000, at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville. He had been hospitalized for hemorrhaging
He retired after 33 years with Whirlpool Corp. He was a member of Community Baptist Church and the Jerusalem Lodge 9.
Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Jane; a daughter, Julie Russell of Henderson; a son, Audie of Henderson; three sisters, Betty Ellis of Oklahoma City, and Pat Lucan and Maxeen Bullock, both of Henderson; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home, with burial in Fairmont cemetery.

Delmar Anderson
HAWESVILLE Delmar Anderson, 70, died Tuesday, April 25, 2000, at his home of an apparent heart attack.
He had been a farmer and was Baptist. He was a Korean War Army veteran.
Surviving are three sisters, Louise Dowell of Roseville, and Hazel Heddin and Zelma Anderson, both of Hawesville; a brother, Elson of Hawesville; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, with burial in Mount Eden Baptist Church cemetery.

Emma French
MORGANFIELD Emma Lucille French, 81, died Wednesday, April 26, 2000, at Methodist Hospital in Henderson.
Surviving are two daughters, Peggy McBride of Henderson and Helen Roberta Davis of Ocean Springs, Miss.; a son, Bill Stone of Madisonville; a sister, Josie Mason of Evansville; a brother, Joe T. Jones; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Her first husband, Fred D. Stone, died in 1966 and her second husband, Alvin Gabrial French, died in 1996.
Services will be at 2 pm. Friday at Whitsell Funeral Home, with burial in St. Agnes cemetery in Uniontown.

Michael Sandefur
HENDERSON, Ky. Michael Sandefur, 28, died Friday, March 24, 2000, near Sebree in Webster County of injuries suffered in an automobile accident.
He was Pentecostal.
Surviving are his parents, Shirley Owens of Henderson and Kenneth W. Sandefur of Fordsville; three sisters, Sandra Denton and Shirl Owens, both of Henderson, and Tonya Harris of Hebbardsville; two brothers, Tony Sandefur and Robert Owens, both of Henderson; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home.
Otis Snow
BASKETT, Ky. Otis E. Snow, 71, formerly of Baskett, died Saturday, March 25, 2000, at Sunbridge Care Center in Salem, W.Va.
He owned Snow Drilling Co. and retired from S.W. Jack Drilling Co.
He was a member of Salem Baptist Church in Salem, W.Va., and Galion Masonic Lodge 414 in Galion, Ohio.
He was a World War II Army veteran, serving as a paratrooper in the Pacific Theater.
Surviving are two daughters, Barbara Mitzi Tanner of Clarksburg, W.Va., and Marianne Clevenger of Salem; a son, Dennis E. of Stonewood, W.Va.; four grandchildren; a great-grandson; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
His wife, Joy (Staples), died in 1989.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home in Henderson, with burial in Fairmont cemetery.

Bethel Hendricks
HENDERSON, Ky. Bethel Oliver Hendricks, 86, died Friday, March 24, 2000, at her home.
She was a member of Geneva Pentecostal Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Surviving are eight daughters, Edna Jensen, Alice White, Betty Stone and Linda Chandler, all of Henderson, Shirley Haire of Bluff City, Elaine Sparks of Robards, Mary Parrish of Poole and Janice Sutton of Spottsville; five sons, Willard Oliver of Robards and Ralph, James H. Jr., Aubrey and Roger Oliver, all of Henderson; a sister, Imogene Jones of Lebanon, Ind.; a brother, Buster Cook of Louisiana; 48 grandchildren; three step grandchildren; 73 great-grandchildren; 13 stepgreat-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; stepgreat-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Oliver Sr., in 1976; and by two sons, Jimmy Oliver, in 1948, and Bobby Oliver, in 1991.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home, with burial in Fernwood cemetery.

Charles Russell
PROVIDENCE, Ky. Charles Russell, 71, died Friday, March 24, 2000, at his home under hospice care.
He was a farmer and a Kentucky Farm Bureau board member and past president.
He was also a Kentucky State School Board member for six years, past member of the Webster County High School Board for 15 years and a member of Webster County NRCS.
He was a member of Poole Baptist Church, where he served as deacon and Sunday school director.
He was a Korean War veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Anna; a daughter, Debra Kramer of Henderson; a son, C. Mark of Huntsville, Ala.; a sister, June Crowley of Poole; and five grandchildren, Jenny Martin, Katherine, Matthew and John Mark Russell, and Megan Kramer.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, with burial in Shady Grove cemetery in Poole.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to St. Anthonys Hospice of Webster County or to Poole Baptist Church.
