Susan S. Gray

Susan S. Gray, 85, formerly of 340 Dieterle Drive South, Owensboro, died Monday, Nov. 1, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was employed at Westinghouse Corp. for 13 years and was a member of Southeast Baptist Church.
Survivors include a sister, Nancy Hagan.
There are no services or visitation. Memorial services will be held at a later date. James H. Davis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Nolan Finn Sr.

BEAVER DAM - Nolan Finn Sr., 90, of Beaver Dam died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004, at Beaver Dam Health Care Manor. He retired from Ohio County Hospital, was a member of Barnes Chapel United Methodist Church in Beaver Dam and was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include a son, Larry Finn; three brothers, Thilbert Finn, Herman "Tooter" Finn and Archie Finn; and three sisters, Dorothy Montgomery, Rosie Jones and Barbara Bard.
Services: 1 p.m. Friday at Barnes Chapel United Methodist Church. Burial: Odd Fellows cemetery in Beaver Dam. Visitation: From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday at William L. Danks Funeral Home and from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the church and after 10 a.m. Friday at the church.

CENTRAL CITY - Emma Lee Gott, 62, of Central City died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. She was a member of New Immanuel Baptist Church in Central City.
Survivors include her husband, Robert T. Gott Sr.; two sons, Robert T. Gott Jr. and Jeffery Lee Robinson; two daughters, Kimberly Diane Gott and Jenifer Carney; two brothers, Cecil Robinson and Walter Robinson; and three sisters, Beverly Robinson, Betty Robinson and Mary Robinson.
Services: 1 p.m. Thursday at New Immanuel Baptist Church. Graveside services: 2 p.m. Friday at Oak Hill North cemetery in Crawfordsville, Ind. Visitation: From 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Tucker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Calvin Hibbs, 90, of Fern Terrace, Owensboro, died Monday, Nov. 1, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was a member of Parrish Avenue Baptist Church in Owensboro.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Gracie Hibbs; and a son, William Carl Hibbs.

Elizabeth 'Betty' Ann Hoskins

MADISONVILLE - Mrs. Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Hoskins, 81, of Madisonville died at 4:51 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004, at Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home in Madisonville. She was born Oct. 23, 1923, in Owensboro and was the only child of Moody Oldham and Caroline Ames Oldham. In 1946, she married
Charles H. Hoskins Jr. who, after 48 years of marriage, passed away in 1995.
She graduated from Owensboro Senior High School and Georgetown College. After teaching at Longfellow School in Owensboro, Oxford in Scott County and 20 years as a 6th-grade teacher in Madisonville, she retired in 1982. She began volunteering at Regional Medical Center and had over 2,000 hours there. She was a member of First Baptist Church, a longtime member of the choir and a Sunday school teacher for more than 35 years. She was a member of Madisonville Woman's Club, having served as president from 1988 to 1990. She was one of the founders of the Madisonville Music Society and past president. She belonged to the Retired Teachers Association, The Daughters of the Nile and Young at Heart group at her church.
She is survived by her son, Charles H. Hoskins III and his wife, Shirley, of Hanson; a grandson, Christopher Michael Hoskins and his wife, Carrie, of Greenville, S.C.; and two stepgrandchildren, Teresa Kennedy of Louisville and Sean Hoskins of Aliso Viejo, Calif.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with the Rev. Lon Norton officiating. Burial will be in Odd Fellows cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Maitland R. Remington Sr.

HAWESVILLE - Maitland R. Remington Sr., 90, of Bainbridge, Ga., died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004, at Tallahassee (Fla.) Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Hancock County and was of the Baptist faith. He had been a farmer and businessman in Hancock, Daviess, Grayson and Bullitt counties in Kentucky before retiring in Bainbridge. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Marie Jolly Remington; his parents, Ira and Stella Rice Remington; and a sister, Ida Mae Babcock.
Survivors include a daughter, Bonnie Holland of Hartford; two sons, Leon Remington and his wife, Linda, of Mount Washington and Maitland Remington Jr. and his wife, Kitty, of Monticello, Fla.; two brothers, Lloyd Remington and Carl Remington, both of Louisville; five grandchildren, Laurel and Lee Remington and Joe, George and Gregory Holland; and three great-grandchildren.
Services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, at Gibson & Son Funeral Home in Hawesville. Burial will be in Mount Eden Baptist Church cemetery near Hawesville. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and after 7 a.m. Wednesday.

HARDINSBURG - Lillie Mae Shartzer Richards, 82, of Hardinsburg died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004, at Breckinridge Health, Inc. She was a homemaker and member of Hardinsburg Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Dale Richards and Kenny Richards; and a daughter, Debbie Lucas.
Services: Noon Wednesday at New Bethel Baptist Church near Hardinsburg. Burial: New Bethel cemetery. Visitation: From 3:30 to 8 p.m. today and after 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home in Hardinsburg.
Zella Robinson

Zella Robinson, 92, of 6913 Karns Grove Road, Philpot, died Monday, Nov. 1, 2004, at her home. She was born in Livermore to the late Simon and Flaura (Wren) Vanover. She was a retired teacher, having taught 2nd grade in the school systems in McLean County for eight years, in Muhlenberg County for eight years and Owensboro for 14 years. She graduated from Sacramento High School in 1932, attended Western Kentucky University and received her bachelor's degree from Kentucky Wesleyan College in 1962. She was previously a Sunday school teacher at Lewis Lane Baptist Church and currently a member of Hopewell Baptist Church, a member of the Retired Teachers Association, past president of AARP and a member of Order of the Eastern Star No. 96 in Bremen. She enjoyed gardening, the outdoors, painting, carving and traveling. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jess W. Robinson, on Aug. 12, 1969; and by her second husband, Delbert Capps, on May 31, 1992.
She is survived by a son, Rex Robinson and wife, Tonya, of Philpot; two daughters, Cheryl Hood and husband, Norman, of Shelbyville and Rhonda McEnroe of Owensboro; five grandchildren, Tom (Lisa) Hood, Troy Hood, Ryan Hood, Tim McEnroe and Tom McEnroe; eight great-grandchildren, Andrew Hood, Tyler Hood, Brianna Hood, Ben Hood, Jacob Hood, Marty Hooie, Aaron Hood and Sammy Hood; a brother, the Rev. Morton Vanover of Sacramento; and two sisters, Audra Conrad of Rumsey and Gaynell Vanover of Owensboro.
Services are at noon Wednesday, Nov. 3, at James H. Davis Funeral Home chapel in Owensboro. Burial is at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Bethlehem cemetery in Bremen. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Marshall Lee Harley

Marshall Lee Harley, 65, of 6270 U.S. 231 North, Hartford, died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2005, at Ohio County Hospital. He was born Nov. 6, 1939, in Daviess County to the late Arthur Lee and Esther Mae (Ralph) Harley. He was of the Baptist faith. He retired as a security guard from a trucking company.
He is survived by his sister, Georgia Brown; and a niece, Melissa Glen, both of Owensboro; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Graveside services are at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, 2005, at Rosehill cemetery in Owensboro. There is no visitation. James H. Davis Funeral Home in Owensboro is in charge of arrangements.
Joe F. Dukes

Joe F. Dukes, 71, of 4435 Palatine Way, Owensboro, died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2005, at Owensboro Medical Health System. The Muhlenberg County native was the son of the late Joseph and Hettie (Harper) Dukes and was retired from Modern Welding. He was a U.S. Army veteran and attended Crosspointe Baptist Church. He enjoyed rabbit hunting, camping, fishing and spending time with his five grandsons.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Frieda B. Dukes; a son, Doyle (Cathy) Dukes of Owensboro; a daughter, Rhonda (Curtis) Wells of Calhoun; grandsons Brandon Dukes of Owensboro, Zachary Wells of Calhoun, Justin Dukes of Owensboro and Nathan and Nolan Wells of Calhoun; a brother, Wilmoth Dukes of Akron, Ohio; sisters Earline (Buel) Drake of Central City, Edna Mae (C.E.) Amos of Newburgh, Ind., Anna Jean Fulkerson of Greenville and Betty Lou (Junior) Foster of Greenville; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Morris of Bremen; brothers and sisters-in-law Janice Mercer of Central City, Harold Morris of Bremen, David Morris of Seymour, Tenn., and Regina Tapp of Sebree; and a special little buddy, Gavin Crabtree; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, 2005, at Glenn Funeral Home chapel. Entombment will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Saturday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Crosspointe Baptist Church Building Fund.
