Dewey 'Pete' Phelps

BEAVER DAM - Dewey "Pete" Phelps, 63, of 288 Highview Lane, Beaver Dam, died Sunday, March 20, 2005, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born Jan. 18, 1942, in Hartford to the late Loddie W. Phelps and Daisey Mae Phelps and retired from American Nonwovens Corp. in Beaver Dam. He was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church and was formerly employed by Peabody Coal Co., Austin Surface Mines. He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Shelia Jean Fulton Phelps of Beaver Dam; a son, Shawn Edward Phelps of Beaver Dam; and five sisters, Jewel Johnson and Wilma Crump, both of Hartford, Iva Toca and Vivian Brown, both of Beaver Dam, and Palma Wyandt of Genoa, Ohio.
Services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home, with Brother Greg Hillard and Brother Glenn Armstrong officiating. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today, March 22, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunnyside cemetery in Beaver Dam, with military honors. Everett Leslie (E.L.) Chapman

E.L. Chapman, husband of Ann Rector Chapman, died Friday, March 25, 2005, in Owensboro. In addition to his wife, Mr. Chapman is survived by a daughter, Kristina Chapman Rose of Lexington; a brother, Wayne Chapman, also of Lexington; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Mr. Chapman was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Soporo Chapman; and a sister, Sharon Wood.
A lifetime resident of the Owensboro area, Mr. Chapman was the owner and developer of Lamp Lite Estates.
Visitation will be from noon until 3 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2005 at Glenn Funeral Home with a memorial service immediately following.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in memory of Mr. Chapman to The Scott Rose Foundation, P.O. Box 5001, London, KY 40745 or to the American Heart Association, Ohio Valley Affiliate, 333 Guthrie St., Suite 207, Louisville, KY 40202.

SOUTH CARROLLTON - Grace H. McClure, 92, of South Carrollton died Saturday, April 2, 2005, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. She was a homemaker and a member of Maple Grove General Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Thomas McClure; and two daughters, Carolyn Littlefield and Pat McDonald.
Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home. Burial: Forest Grove cemetery in Browder. Visitation: After 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mildred Vondell McPherson

DUNMOR - Mildred Vondell McPherson, 87, of McPherson Lane, Lake Malone area, in Dunmor, died Sunday, March 27, 2005, at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville after a brief illness. She was born in Muhlenberg County on Sept. 24, 1917. She was a lifelong member of the Myers Chapel United Methodist Church. Having been the oldest in membership of that church, she was a very devoted and faithful member to it and to her community where she resided for the 87 years of her life.
She had been employed by Baxter Industries in Greenville and Rockwell International in Russellville, from which she retired after 25 years. After her devotion to God and church, she loved her gardening and country cooking for her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmo McPherson (1982) and Chessie (Driskill) McPherson (1972) and three brothers, Arthur Louis (1981), Windell Hoyt (2003) and Cleon (2005) McPherson.
She is survived by two sisters, Ima Gossett and Ludie Bowers, both of Greenville; one sister-in-law, Beverly McPherson of Dunmor; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held at Price Funeral Home, 252 E. Green St., Lewisburg today after 5 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at 1 p.m. at the Myers Chapel United Methodist Church in Muhlenberg County. Burial will follow in the McPherson cemetery (Muhlenberg County near Lake Malone).
Memorial contributions may be made in the form of donations to the McPherson cemetery or to the charity of your choice.
Eula Adams Wiles

HAWESVILLE - Eula Adams Wiles, 88, of Hawesville died Monday, March 21, 2005, at Medco Center of Hardinsburg. She was born in Hancock County on Feb. 8, 1917, to the late Jesse Crockett and Eula Longest Adams. She was a housewife and member of Hawesville United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by three brothers, John Quincy Adams, W.D. Adams and J.C. Adams.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Brinton "Jack" Wiles; two sisters, Helen Adams Jolly of Owensboro and Anna Adams Creason of Concord, Calif.; and four nieces and two nephews.
Services are at 10 a.m. Thursday at Gibson & Son Funeral Home in Hawesville, with the Rev. Leroy Reardon and the Rev. Dan Smith officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today and after 7 a.m. Thursday.

Kathleen D. Everly, 53, of 2300 Southeastern Parkway, died Thursday, March 24, 2005, at Bon Harbor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Owensboro. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Mark Everly; three sons, Nathan Lintz, Ryan Lintz and Steven Everly; two daughters, Brinna Everly and Soni Everly; and a brother, John Ramsey.

Mrs. Kathryn M. Wright, 72, of 317 Catalina Drive, Owensboro, died Monday, March 28, 2005, at Owensboro Medical Health System. Mrs. Wright was a certified nursing assistant who was very active in Walnut Memorial Church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was born in Muhlenberg County to the late Altha Jones and Marjorie Noffsinger Jones.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, the Rev. Franklin Wright Jr.; two daughters, Judy Zachary and husband David of Owensboro and Sue Cavin and husband Dale of Rose Hill, Va.; her mother, Marjorie Jones of Owensboro; brothers, Gaylen, Lindell, Jimmy, Ronnie and David Jones, all of Owensboro; sisters, Shirley Brant and Diane Littell, both of Gary, Ind.; and grandchildren, Melissa Coffey, Jonathan Cavin, Rachel Rice, Chris Zachary; and great-grandchildren, Kendall Coffey and Tabitha Rice.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rosehill cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Walnut Memorial Baptist Church or to Clear Creek Baptist Seminary.
Joe Anita Sullivan Nicholls

Joe Anita Sullivan Nicholls, 85, originally from Owensboro, residing in Louisville died Friday, March 4, 2005, at Norton's Hospital in Louisville. She was born Aug. 9, 1919, in Comer and retired from Mr. Jim's Beauty Salon as a hairdresser after 17 years. She was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Philpot and enjoyed being with her family and watching University of Louisville basketball and football. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Sherman Nicholls on Aug. 18, 1986.
Survivors include a son, Dr. William C. Ralston II and his wife, Jackie, of Louisville; three grandsons, Dr. William C. Ralston III and his wife, Kathy, of Louisville, Jonathan Scott Ralston of Louisville and Jeffery Alan Ralston of Indianapolis; a great-granddaughter, Margaret Cecelia Ralston of Louisville; 15 nephews; and 16 nieces.
Services are at 1 p.m. Monday at Haley-McGinnis Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m. today and after 11 a.m. Monday at Haley-McGinnis.
Murtry Igleheart

SACRAMENTO - Murtry Igleheart, 66, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2005, at his home in Sacramento. Murtry was born July 1, 1938, in Sacramento to the late Murtry Sr. and Verla Tucker Igleheart. He retired from Peabody Coal Co. with 24 years of service. As a veteran of the United States Army, Murtry served from 1961 to 1963 during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Murtry is survived by his wife of 43 years, Ann; two sons and their wives and grandchildren, Monty, Judy and Chasen and Mark, Tracy and Lindsay Igleheart of Sacramento; other family members include, Jimmie, Karen and Hannah Davis and Brian and Emilee Miller and Serenity. Murtry has two brothers, Jimmy Igleheart of Sacramento and Gerald Igleheart of Princeton; and one sister, Virginia Lois Barnett of Sacramento.
Murtry enjoyed University of Kentucky basketball, dirt car racing, camping and fishing, having his family eat Sunday supper with him, hanging out at the local restaurant talking to his buddies and giving out advice about repairing heavy equipment and farm equipment.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Tucker Memorial Chapel in Sacramento by Brother Harold Butler, Pastor of Sacramento Baptist Church, assisted by Brother Jesse Johnson, Pastor of Sacramento Methodist Church, with burial at Station Baptist cemetery. Pallbearers include Charles Turley, Coleman Stroud, Johnny Vickers, Mose Miller, Rodger Fridy and Cletus Greer. Honorary pallbearers are Ray Baize, J.V. Richey, Don Richey, Jim Hickerson, Richard Reno and Roy Sheets. Visitation for Mr. Igleheart will be today at 5 p.m. for the public at Tucker Memorial Chapel in Sacramento. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Station Baptist Church cemetery Fund or Green River Hospice.

CENTRAL CITY - Charles Wayne Wilson, 46, of Central City died Friday, March 18, 2005, at Ohio County Hospital in Hartford.
Survivors include a daughter, Gina Wilson; three brothers, Tommy Wilson, Roger Wilson and Leroy Wilson; and four sisters, Donna Fortney, Peggy Sallee, Mildred Woerter and Betty O'Bannon.

Charles C. Reynolds

EASTLAKE, Ohio - Services for Charles C. Reynolds, 84, of Eastlake will be at 7 p.m. EST today at Willoughby Baptist Church, 37927 Euclid Ave., Willoughby, Ohio. Additional services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Gary's Funeral Home in Greenville, 405 Hopkinsville St., by the Rev. Walter Evitts.
Mr. Reynolds went to be with his Lord on March 18, 2005. Born March 18, 1921, in Greenville, he lived there before moving to Eastlake in June 1953. He was a very active member of Willoughby Baptist Church for nearly 50 years and served as a deacon there for 46 years. He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of Disabled American Veterans Euclid Community 137. Mr. Reynolds was employed as a automation operator at the former TRW Valve Division in Cleveland. He retired in 1986 after 33 years of service. His first wife, Neva Nell Reynolds, died Sept. 2, 1992; his parents, Charles A. and Mossie (Robison) Reynolds; and sisters Moltie Knight, Eather Fulkerson and Estell Bowers are also deceased.
Survivors are his wife, Debra J. Reynolds; children, Avery Darrell (Sharon) Reynolds of Mentor-on-the-Lake, Ohio; Sheila (Manley) Hamrick of Willoughby and Tina Lynn (Alan) Clifton of Perry, Ohio; a stepdaughter, Martha (Art) Hayes of Grantsburg, Wis.; stepsons, Charles (Cindy) Smith and Dan (Nancy) Smith, both of Columbus, Ohio; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several step grandchildren; and several step great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. EST today at Davis Trust 100 Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Ave., Willoughby, and from 6 to 7 today at the church. The family will also receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Gary's Funeral Home. The Rev. Gary Mills of Willoughby Baptist Church will officiate at the services this evening.
