HARTFORD - Anna Carter Tinsley, 96, died Thursday, March 31, 2005, at her home. She was a homemaker and member of Woodwards Valley Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Glendell B. Tinsley and James E. Tinsley; and a daughter, Octiva Tinsley Payne.
Services: 2 p.m. Saturday at Duke-Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Hartford. Burial: Woodwards Valley Church cemetery. Visitation: From 4 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Frances 'Audrey' Small

Frances "Audrey" Small, 88, went home to the Lord on Friday, March 25, 2005, at her current residence in Bakersfield, Calif. She had been a resident of Kern County, Calif., for one year and Ventura County, Calif., for over 45 years. She was born April 19, 1916, in Knottsville and came to Ventura County from Owensboro. She worked as a waitress for a time in several restaurants and then started her own electrical contractor's business with her husband. Her interests were music, especially the piano, and bowling. She was a member of the Moose Lodge for many years with her husband. Audrey was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Lee "Ikey" Small; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Audrey is survived by her children, Frances Small-Brookshire of Ventura, Arthur Lee Small Jr. of Covina, Calif., Virginia Small-Millay of Owensboro, Rose Small-Cobb of Bakersfield, Calif., Charles Small Sr. of Owensboro, Danny Small Sr. of Owensboro, William Small of Missouri and Ronnie Small of Oil Dale, Calif.; 38 grandchildren; 70 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Services are at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 5, 2005, at Blessed Mother Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Alphonsus Church cemetery in St. Joseph. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. on Monday at James H. Davis Funeral Home in Owensboro where prayers will be said at 5 p.m. on Monday.
Cecil Chappell Schwartz

Cecil Chappell Schwartz, 85, of Hillcrest Health Care Center died there at 7 p.m., Monday, March 21, 2005. She was born April 15, 1919, in Breckinridge County and retired from General Electric, Brescia College, Kentucky Wesleyan College and St. Stephen Cathedral as a food service manager and cook. She was a member of St. Stephen Cathedral and did volunteer work for the hospital. She enjoyed painting, writing, quilting, cooking, being with family, playing Yahtzee and gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Edward "Dutch" Schwartz, who died in 1990; four grandsons, Anthony Dale Head, Henry I. Head Jr., Darrell Wayne Roby and James Michael Roby; a son-in-law, Russell Gunterman; and her parents, Charles Roscoe and Flora Ellen Stillwell Chappell.
Survivors include a son, Ronald Schwartz and his wife, Juanita "Nita," of Owensboro; five daughters, Virginia Morgan and her husband, Jerry, and Patricia Carol Gunterman, all of Owensboro, Jean Horn and her husband, John L., of Thruston and Mary Elizabeth Roby and her husband, Junior, and Margaret Montgomery and her husband, Frank, all of Fordsville; 28 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Earl Chappell of Merced, Calif.; and a sister, Ruby Gaddis of Friendly Village.
Services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Stephen Cathedral, with the Rev. John Vaughan officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection cemetery. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Haley-McGinnis Funeral Home in Owensboro. Prayers will be said at 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. Ian James Scalf, infant, of 2513 Pardon Ave., Owensboro, died Sunday, March 27, 2005, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born March 27, 2005, in Daviess County and was preceded in death by his aunt, Jennibe Scalf on Nov. 26, 1994.
Survivors include his mother, Faith Aleigh Scalf of Owensboro; his grandparents, Connie and Willie Scalf of Owensboro; his great-grandparents, Willie and Lou Scalf of Richland, Ind.; his great-grandmother, Ree Moore of Owensboro; his great-grandparents, Lewis and Betty Ambs of Owensboro; an aunt, Keisha and Tyler Trogden of Owensboro; and an uncle, William Scalf of Owensboro.
Private graveside services are at 1 p.m. today at Rosehill cemetery in Owensboro with the Rev. J.P. Sims officiating. Haley-McGinnis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
James Rachael Turner

FORDSVILLE - James Rachael Turner, 61, of Fordsville died Sunday, March 20, 2005. He was born in Hancock County and was a member of Newton Springs Baptist Church. He was a retired carpet layer from Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters and Joiners No. 1185. He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Beatrice Turner; and two sisters, Helen Henry and Shelby Yates.
Survivors include a daughter, Rachelle Turner of Calumet City, Ill.; a sister, Roxie T. Rusher of Fordsville; two grandsons, Zachary James Peters and William Jonathon Turner, both of Calumet City; three nieces; and a nephew.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Geary Funeral Home in Fordsville. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Robert Fenwick

JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. - Robert Fenwick, 50, of Jeffersonville passed away Friday, March 25, 2005, at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville. He was born in Vanderburgh County, Ind., to the late Wilbur and Mary Helen Brown Fenwick. Mrs. Fenwick passed away on March 7, 2004. He was employed as a disability adjudicator for the state of Kentucky for 15 years. He was a member of the Southeast Christian Church in Louisville and had formerly been a member of the Sorgho Baptist Church and Owensboro Christian Church. He had attended Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Ind., and received his bachelor's degree in sociology from University of Southern Indiana in Evansville. He was an avid Indiana University basketball fan, was a member of Promise Keepers and was a St. Jude's partner. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and his family and friends.
Surviving is his wife of 15 years, Margaret "Sissy" Fenwick; a son, Matthew Joseph Logsdon of Louisville; a daughter and her husband, Beth and Cory Lash of Bowling Green; three grandchildren, Zoe Jane Lash, Robert Todd Lash and Hayden Joseph Logsdon; two sisters, Barbara Nelson of Bowling Green and Carol Hayden of Utica; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at Glenn Funeral Home chapel, with burial following in the Sorgho Baptist Church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. A "Celebration of Life" will be held after the burial at Roosevelt House II at 530 Yale Place. The Rev. Dr. L. Rodford McDonald

CAMPBELLSVILLE - The Rev. Dr. L. Rodford McDonald, 91, of Shreve Drive, Campbellsville, son of the late Moses Samson McDonald and Ora Mae Malone McDonald, was born April 3, 1913, in Taylor County. He died at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2005, in Campbellsville. He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Kentucky Annual Conference and held his charge conference papers at First United Methodist Church in Campbellsville. He was a retired Methodist minister and served churches in Greenville, Louisville, Glasgow, Cumberland, Russell and Taylor counties. He was a former district superintendent of the Campbellsville district. He served as president of Lindsey Wilson College from 1971 to 1978. He graduated from Lindsey Wilson College in 1940 and also holds degrees from Campbellsville University and Asbury College. He attended Candler School of Theology at Emory University and Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He received honorary doctorate degrees from Kentucky Wesleyan College in 1960 and Lindsey Wilson College in 2004. He was the last surviving grandson of James Wallis McDonald, a Union soldier who was able to survive the explosion of the steamer Sultana while returning to Kentucky from a Confederate prison. He united in marriage to Margaret Phillips on May 30, 1942.
Besides his wife, Margaret McDonald of Shreve Drive, Campbellsville, he is survived by two sisters, Mozelle Hogan of Campbellsville and Helen Hogg of Glasgow; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers, Amelia Gabehart, Kerdieth McDonald, Edward McDonald, Charles "Buck" McDonald and Pauline Farmer Thrasher.
Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, at First United Methodist Church in Campbellsville, by the Rev. Billy Joe Cox, Dr. Ted Beam, Dr. Wally Thomas and the Rev. Paul Fryman. Burial will be in Jones Chapel cemetery. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville and after 9 a.m.Tuesday at the church. Gary's Funeral Home in Greenville is in charge of local arrangements.

CENTRAL CITY - Anna Jean Dodd, 55, of Central City died Sunday, March 20, 2005, at her home. She worked at Twin Rivers Health Care Furniture Factory and was a member of Trinity General Baptist Church in Clifty.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Alan Dodd; two sons, Brian Reed and David Reed; a daughter, Tina Mannahan; a stepdaughter, Heather Garrison; her parents, Woodrow and Edith Sigers; and six brothers, Billy Sigers, Wendell Sigers, Kenneth Sigers, Joe Sigers, Mike Sigers and Steve Sigers.

BEECH CREEK - Margaret Davis, 87, of Beech Creek died Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. She was a nurse's aide at Muhlenberg Community Hospital and a member of Mercer Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Timothy Davis; three daughters, Joan Tooley, Carolyn Harper and Patty Tate; and a sister, Jo Dell Vanlandingham.

Margaret L. Puckett

HOPKINSVILLE - Margaret L. Puckett, 81, of Hopkinsville died at 11:10 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2005, at Wellington Parc Nursing Facility, Bowling Green, of complications from Alzheimer's disease. A native of Breckinridge County, she was born March 3, 1924, the daughter of the late Lon J. and Jessie Frank Fraize. She had been a homemaker and was a longtime member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. She was a volunteer for St. Vincent DePaul Society. Her husband, Thomas E. Puckett, died in 1989.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Harry L. (Deloris) Clinard of Paducah and Mrs. Jerry W. (Vonnie) Adams and Mrs. Keith (Linda) Lancaster, both of Hopkinsville; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services were at 10 a.m. today at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. John M. Thomas officiating. Burial was in Riverside cemetery. Hughart & Beard Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Hayden Dean Hoover

HARTFORD - Hayden Dean Hoover, 82, of 114 McMurtury Ave., Hartford, died Sunday, March 27, 2005, at Professional Care Health and Rehabilitation Center in Hartford. He was born June 7, 1922, in Ohio County to the late Emmitt Hoover and Esther Westerfield. He was employed by the Kentucky Department of Transportation as a heavy equipment operator and was a retired farmer. He was a member of Washington United Methodist Church and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a staff sergeant, took part in the D-Day invasion and received a Purple Heart. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary M. Hoover, on June 13, 1974; his second wife, Emma Lucille Hoover, on July 20, 1997; and a daughter, Betty Lee Hoover, in Dec. 1958.
Survivors include a son, Harold Dean Hoover of Hartford; a stepson, Don Patterson of Hartford; two daughters, Diana Fay Hooker of Sellersburg, Ind., and Ann Schroader of Owensboro; a stepdaughter, Sandra Magan of Owensboro; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
Services are at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jake Russell officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Hermon cemetery in Ohio County.

RICHLAND, Ind. - Judy (Sarver) Swanker, 65, of Richland died Wednesday March 30, 2005, at Miller's Merry Manor in Rockport, Ind. Judy was born in Richland on June 5, 1939, to the late August and Mary (Burroughs) Sarver. She was a homemaker.
Survivors are her husband of 42 years, Roger; two sons, Jimmy Swanker and his wife, Alana, of Richland and John Swanker and his wife, Mindy, of Rockport; a daughter, Shelley Daming and her husband, Tom, of Rockport; a brother, Donald Sarver of Richland; three sisters, Trilla Snyder of Richland, Irene Wasson of Boonville, Ind., and Mary Norris of St. Joseph, Mich.; two grandchildren, Jarod and Jason Daming; three stepgrandchildren, Amee Hadley and Leah and Dustin Sarver; and two step great-grandchildren, Brooklynn and Jaxson Hadley.
Service are at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 2, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, with the Rev. Joe Mack Miller officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion cemetery in Richland.
