Mary Louis Brannum, 63, of 1119 Independence Ave., Owensboro, died at 10:10 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2005, at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born on Nov. 20, 1941, in Daviess County and was a housewife and member of SS. Joseph & Paul Catholic Church. She enjoyed her family and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Junior Brannum, in 1966; and her parents, Walter Lewis Payne and Anna Silbereisen Payne.
Survivors include her companion of 30 years, Robert Earl Beckhart; two daughters, Vickie Stogner and her husband, Noble, of Maceo and Paula Miller and her husband, Thomas Archie, of Maceo; four grandchildren, Justin and Daniel Stogner and Charlie Angela Miller; and a brother, Jerry Payne and his wife, Brenda, of Owensboro.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Haley-McGinnis Funeral Home chapel in Owensboro. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery. Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Prayers will be said at 5 p.m. today at the funeral home. The Rev. Brian Roby will officiate.

DRAKESBORO - Ethel V. Short, 91, of Drakesboro died Monday, March 21, 2005, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. She was a member of Wesley Chapel AME Zion Church in Greenville.
Survivors include two daughters, Eloise Grant and Georgia Wade; and a sister, Buelah Hines.
Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Wesley Chapel AME Zion Church. Interment: Rochester cemetery. Visitation: From 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church. Mason & Sons Funeral Home in Madisonville is in charge of arrangements.
Oliver Henry Lasseigne

Oliver Henry Lasseigne, 79, of 4420 Antler Ave., Owensboro, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2005, at his home. He was born on Feb. 7, 1926, in Laurel, Miss., to the late Clifton and Harriet Braud Lasseigne. He retired after 36 years as an electrical engineer with General Electric and MPD in Owensboro. He received a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Louisiana State University, where he was a member of the Tau Beta Pi fraternity (National Engineering Honorary Society) and was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Walker and Mae Calongne.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sue D. Lasseigne; a daughter, Suzanne L. Marshall and husband, Joseph R., of Manassas, Va.; a brother, Clifton C. Lasseigne of Baton Rouge, La.; and two sisters, Dorothy Daly of Houston and Blanche Baudouin of Thibodaux, La.
There will be a private service today, and entombment will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Malcolm R. Moseley

Malcolm R. Moseley, 100, formerly of Whitesville, died Thursday, March 24, 2005, at Professional Care Center in Hartford. Born in Ralph in Ohio County on Jan. 29, 1905, Mr. Moseley was a retired teacher. He had taught in Horse Branch, Whitesville, Hardinsburg and Fordsville. He was a 50-year Mason and member of Whitesville Lodge No. 279. Mr. Moseley was also a member of the Lt. Robert Moseley Chapter of Sons of the American Revolution and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Dillus and Becky Moseley of Owensboro; a grandson and his wife, David C. and Janie Moseley of Utica; and two great-grandchildren, Jordyn and Grace Moseley of Utica.
Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 26, at Glenn Funeral Home, with burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, March 25, and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Masonic services will be at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
James Albert Burnett

HAWESVILLE - James Albert Burnett, 79, of Hawesville died Wednesday, March 23, 2005, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He retired as a towboat deckhand and was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Frankie Basinger Burnett; and nine children, Frances Rudisill, Charolett Jones, James T. Burnett, Robert Burnett, John Burnett, Morris Burnett, Todd Burnett, Theresa Gilmore and Anita Craig.
There are no services or visitation. James H. Davis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Robert J. Strahan

LUDINGTON, Mich. - Robert J. Strahan, 56, of 5446 S. Stiles Road, Ludington, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, March 20, in Seattle.
Robert was born July 24, 1948, in Ludington and married
on June 10, 1972, to Karen Wicklund, who survives. He attended St. Simon School and graduated from Ludington High School in 1966 and attended Muskegon Business College. He was affiliated with St. Simon Catholic Church and a member of Ludington Lodge 51 Danish Brotherhood in America. Robert was the vice president of National Steel Erection Inc. in Owensboro and traveled extensively with the business.
Surviving besides his wife, Karen, are four sons, Aaron of Melbourne, Australia, Petty Officer Seth of Jonesport, Maine, Zachary of Fairport Harbor, Ohio, and Spec. Jacob Strahan of Fort Lee, Va.; one daughter, Carna at home; his mother, June (Strahan) (and John) Carney of Ludington; three brothers, Timothy (and friend, Cay Greiner) Strahan, James (and Jennifer) Strahan, both of Ludington, Peter (and Karen) Strahan of Twin Lake; nieces, nephews, and cousins; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Daniel and Diane Stewart, Chip and Kristy Beyer, David and Cheri Wicklund, Tim and Sue Woiral, Jeff and Donna Wicklund, all of Mason County.
He was preceded in death by his father, James, in 1980.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. EST Monday, March 28, at St. Simon Catholic Church, the Rev. Ken Schichtel, celebrant. Alexander-Rye Funeral Home in Ludington is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in Center Riverton cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Ludington Area Catholic Schools with envelopes available at the Alexander-Rye Funeral Home.
Ajlill Victoria Augustson Jones

LOUISVILLE - Ajlill Victoria Augustson Jones, 86, of Louisville died Saturday, March 26, 2005, at St. Matthews Manor Nursing Home. She was an active member of Crescent Hill Baptist Church, a lifetime member of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary Woman's Auxiliary, a member of the Reserve Officers Association, especially the Persian Gulf Command, and a World War II Army surgical nurse. Prior to World War II, she was a nurse for the American Red Cross. She was preceded in death by her husband, B.M. "Buck" Jones Jr.
She is survived by two daughters, Karen Poe and Lisa White; a son, Kurt Jones; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. EST Tuesday, March 29, at Crescent Hill Baptist Church, 2800 Frankfurt Ave. Burial will be at Zachary Taylor National cemetery. Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. today, March 28, at Pearson's Funeral Directors in Louisville. Memorial gifts may go to Alzheimer's Association, Hospice of Louisville or to the American Red Cross.

Nancy Hollars Denton, 90, of Wellington Parc, Owensboro, died there Thursday, March 24, 2005. She was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Somerset.
Survivors include a son, William David Denton; a daughter, Janet Denton; a brother, Thurman Chyle Hollars; and a sister, Margaret Hollars Loveless.
Visitation: From 2 to 3:30 p.m. EST Wednesday at Somerset Undertaking Co. Burial: 4 p.m. Wednesday at Somerset cemetery. Visitation after burial: From 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

CALHOUN - Lillian Floyd, 80, of Calhoun died Thursday, March 31, 2005, at Owensboro Medical Health System. Lillian Lavon Sellers was born Aug. 31, 1924, in Evansville to the late Clifton and Ernestine Sellers and was later married
to Earl Floyd on June 25, 1942. She was a retired farmer and also worked at the former Green Valley Farm Supply in Calhoun. Lillian was a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church, a member of McLean History and Genealogical Museum and helped to organize the Heaven's Grocery Store Food Pantry. Her husband of 44 years, Earl Floyd, died Sept. 22, 1986. Lillian was also preceded in death by three grandsons, Chad Floyd, Josh Floyd and Christopher Baird; and a sister, Anna Lee Wilson.
Survivors include two sons and their wives, Eddie and Gladys Floyd of Calhoun and Bruce and Mayetta Floyd of Hanson; a daughter and her husband, Sandy and Darrell Baird of Calhoun; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Althea Mae Houston of Owensboro and Jenna Coleman of Calhoun.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel, with the Rev. Larry Burris and the Rev. Clifford Lovell officiating. Burial will be in Calhoun cemetery. Friends may visit with the Floyd family from 3 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Saturday at Musters in Calhoun.

John D. Roberts Sr.

NEW ALBANY, Ind. - John D. Roberts Sr., 89, died Friday, March 4, 2005, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
John had worked for the old South Central Bell Telephone Co. for over 40 years and was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Albany.
The son of the late Wallace F. and Mittie E. (Brown) Roberts, John was born Jan. 21, 1916, in Stanley. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Martha J. (White) Roberts; six sons, William (Anne), Michael, Patrick (Dale), Stephen, Jeffrey (Peggy) and Byron (Cheryl) Roberts; two daughters, Missy Keller and Michelle Portwood (Mark); a sister, Florence "Boots" Norris; 25 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, John D. Roberts Jr. and Thomas E. Roberts.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2005, at Generations Funeral Home. His funeral service will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2005, at the Chapel at Generations Funeral Home with burial to follow in Mater Dolorosa cemetery in Owensboro.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
Eretta Mae 'Becky' Ezell

Eretta Mae "Becky" Ezell, 78, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 31, 2005. She was born on May 28, 1926, in Spadra, Ark., and was married
for 47 years to Doy B. Ezell, who passed away on March 23, 1993. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters, James and Carl Whitson, Velma Barlow, Minnie Moore and Joyce Ann Whitson.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda Joyce and Ray Maxwell Bishop of Curdsville; a son, Randall Steven Ezell of Fresno, Calif.; two granddaughters and their husbands, Pamela Ruth and John D. Maske and Cynthia Kay and Rodney Henry; six great-grandchildren, Rebecca Lynn and Jessica Ruth O'Bryan, Sarah, Mindi and Joshua Henry and Shawn Ezell; and two brothers, Henry and Bob Whitson, both of Arkansas.
Visitation is from noon to 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 3, 2005, at James H. Davis Funeral Home in Owensboro. There will be a private graveside service with burial at Pleasant Grove cemetery in Sorgho.
