Anna Louise Moorman

HARTFORD -- Anna Louise Moorman, 86, of 114 McMurtry Ave., Hartford, died Monday, Nov. 22, 2004, at Professional Care and Rehab Center in Hartford. She was born Nov. 9, 1918, in Ohio County to the late Albert Rowe and Edna Brown Rowe. She retired as a shipping clerk from Montpelier Glove Factory in Hartford and was a member of Hartford Baptist Church and Ohio County Hospital Auxiliary. Mrs. Moorman enjoyed her church, traveling and volunteering. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Moorman in 1989; and a son, Blane Moorman in 1993.
Survivors include a daughter, Brenda May and her husband Bobby, both of Beaver Dam; two granddaughters, Donna Fleener and her husband Kelly of Hartford, Jamie Branham and her husband Jason of Louisville; three grandsons, Steve May and his wife Glenda of Beaver Dam, Mark May of Bowling Green and Jason Moorman of Hartford; and six great-grandchildren.
Services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford with Brother David Bullock officiating and assisted by Brother Ed Mitchell. Visitation will be at the funeral home, where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until time of services Wednesday. Burial will be in Sunnyside cemetery in Beaver Dam. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hartford Baptist Church, 415 Liberty St., Hartford, KY 42347.
Elwanda M. Greer

Elwanda M. Greer, 46, of 723 W. 10th St., Owensboro died Friday, Nov. 19, 2004, at her home.
Survivors include two daughters, Jennifer Boggs and Misty Smith; her mother, Elwanda Davis Greer; two brothers, John Greer and Joe Greer; and a sister, Regina Gross.
Graveside services: 2 p.m. Sunday at Sheffield (Texas) cemetery. James H. Davis Funeral Home in Owensboro is in charge of arrangements.
Charles Tracy Goolsby

ROSICLARE, Ill. -- Charles Tracy Goolsby, age 89, passed away at 12:03 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004, in Hardin County General Hospital in Rosiclare. Mr. Goolsby was a retired welder and a member of Rosiclare Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star and Rosiclare Chapter of Modern Woodman Society.
He is survived by a son, Charles (Betty) Goolsby of Casa Grande, Ariz.; a daughter, Anita (Richard) Dixon of Owensboro; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, James Edgar Goolsby of Festus, Mo.
Mr. Goolsby was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Mary (Conkle) Goolsby; wives, Lola and Jewell; a son, Robert Wayne; a sister, Augusta; and brothers, Orval, Paul, Pearlie, Nathan, Beecher, David and Joe.
Funeral services are at 1 p.m. today at Hosick Funeral Home in Rosiclare with the Rev. Bernie Cowgill presiding. Burial will follow in the Fluorine cemetery in Rosiclare.
In lieu of flowers the family has suggested that donations may be made to the Rosiclare Masonic Lodge No. 1144, which can be left at the funeral home or mailed to P.O. Box 279, Rosiclare, IL 62982.
Vera Lorene Maze

BEAVER DAM -- Vera Lorene Maze, 73, of Beaver Dam died Monday, Nov. 22, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was a retired dietitian from Professional Care Home in Hartford and a member of Hickory Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Ohio County.
She is survived by three sons, Michael Maze, Monty Maze and Mitchell Maze; a daughter, Marilyn Jackson; her mother, Cinderella Chapman; and two half sisters, Nancy McKee and Gwen Sanders.
Services: 11 a.m. Friday at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Burial: Sunnyside cemetery in Beaver Dam. Visitation: From 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Anthony Ray Simmons

CLEATON -- Anthony Ray Simmons, 13, of P.O. Box 12, Cleaton, died at 10:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004, at Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville. He was born Sept. 21, 1991, in Muhlenberg County. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James E. and Elna Simmons; and great-grandparents, Arthur and Mayme Ford and Alford and Lucy Keeling.
Survivors include his parents, Lauren and Teresa Simmons of Cleaton; his foster brother, John Dukes Biebelink of Wyoming, Mich.; his grandparents, Billy and Alberta Ford of Cleaton; his aunt and uncle, Jim and Angela Wilson of Central City; two aunts, Diane Wallace and Janet Reed, both of Central City; and three cousins, Tabitha Huff, Mark Huff and Kayla Jernigan, all of Central City.
Services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 23, at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery in Central City. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today, Nov. 22, at the funeral home.
Harriet Elizabeth Wright

Harriet Elizabeth Wright, 89, formerly of Whitesville, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004, at Carmel Home in Owensboro. She was born in Whitesville and was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church. She loved sewing and gardening. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Betty Wheatly in 1993 and Phyllis Millay in 1985; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Helen Aull of Masonville and Patricia Kasehagan of Albuquerque, N.M.; three sons, Joe Wright and Pat Wright, both of Whitesville, and Arnold Wright of Hammond, Ind.; 21 grandchildren; and 45 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Marys cemetery. Visitation will be at 2 p.m. today and again after 9 a.m. Tuesday at Cecil Funeral Home in Whitesville. Prayers will be held at 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Carmel Home.
James Edward Wright

FRANKLIN -- Mr. James Edward Wright, 84, of Franklin died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004, at 5:30 a.m. at Christian Health Center in Bowling Green. Funeral services are under the direction of Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home, where services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 24, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Greenlawn cemetery in Franklin, with military rites by Simpson County Honor Guard. A native of Simpson County, he was the son of the late Claude Ellis Wright and the late Euree Edwards Wright. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Wright Cardwell.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Elizabeth Hickman Wright of Franklin; two daughters, Martha Lee and husband, Jack, of Owensboro and Jane Peed and husband, Blake, of Pompano Beach, Fla.; and three grandchildren, Matt Lee of Owensboro and Emily Peed and Laura Peed, both of Pompano Beach.
Mr. Wright was a member of Franklin First Baptist Church. Mr. Wright was a graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture. He retired in 1976 as vocational agriculture teacher in the Franklin-Simpson School System. He had served as state executive director of agricultural stabilization and conservation service and as a UK county extension agent in his career. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II in the European Theater with the 3rd Armored Division. He served as vice president of the Simpson County Fair Board. He was a life member of UK Alumni Association and a member of Franklin Rotary Club and American Legion Post No. 62.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 23, at Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Franklin First Baptist Church Building Fund.
Rosalie Burns

Rosalie Burns, 92, of Bon Harbor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, formerly of 624 Greenbriar St., died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004, at Bon Harbor. She was born Sept. 1, 1912, in Daviess County to Charles Hulsey and Tabatha Williams and was a homemaker and member of Crabtree Avenue Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Burns, who died in 1994; a son, Jerry Burns, who died in 1957; a daughter, Marjorie Shadwick, who died in 1994; and a grandson, Terry Shadwick, who died in 2004.
Survivors include two daughters, Wanda Allison and her husband, Danny, of Owensboro and Kathy Buchanan and her husband, Gale, of Owensboro; 10 grandchildren, Kay Rivers, Carman Francis, Wes Allison, Stacy Shadwick, Tracy Shadwick, Holly McStoots, Daniele Millay, Amber Thompson and Jarrett Thompson; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services are at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 22, at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home chapel. Visitation is from 2 to 7 p.m. today and after 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Kenny Stone will officiate.
Louis D. 'Grampa' Crowe

Louis D. "Grampa" Crowe, 81, died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004, in Port Huron, Mich. He was born Dec. 27, 1922, in Owensboro, a son of the late Arthur and Audie (White) Crowe. Mr. Crowe was a World War II Army veteran. He retired from Ford Motor Co. as an inspector with 30 years' service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian (Beekman) Crowe, in July 1994; and a grandson, Noel Shaw.
Surviving are a son, Raymond Shaw of Marquette, Mich.; five grandchildren, Mary Teeple, Guy Shaw, Laura Shaw, Neil Shaw and Raymond Shaw, all of Michigan; 15 loved great-grandchildren; a brother, Woodrow Crowe and a sister, Lillian Newton, both of Owensboro.
Graveside services will be at noon Tuesday, Nov. 23, at Rosehill cemetery chapel. Dr. David Nelson will officiate. Glenn Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
Arthur L. 'Sonny' Foster Jr.

Arthur L. "Sonny" Foster Jr., 64, passed away Nov. 19, 2004, at Hillcrest Healthcare. Born in Daviess County to Arthur L. Foster Sr. and Hazel D. Foster, he was employed by Johnson, Depp and Quisenberry for many years as a surveyor. He also operated an antique booth at Consumers Mall. Preceding him in death is his father, Arthur L. Foster Sr., in 1987.
Surviving is his mother, Hazel Foster; a brother, Gary and wife Janet Foster; and a nephew, Devin Foster, all of Owensboro.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 22, at Glenn Funeral Home chapel in Owensboro. Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Resurrection cemetery.
