Doris Ann Newbolt Dillow, 73, of 5221 Kentucky 56, Owensboro, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004, at her home. She was born Aug. 13, 1931, in Daviess County to the late James Allen Newbolt Sr. and Julia Alberta (Shown) Newbolt. She was a secretary at Parrish Avenue Baptist Church. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a brother, James A. Newbolt Jr., in December 1999; and by two sisters, Mary Alice Mehlbauer and Margie Newbolt Croy, in December 2000.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, George W. Dillow; a son, John A. and Myrna Dillow of Owensboro; two daughters, Janet R. Dillow Ashby of Sarasota, Fla., and Julia A. and Charlie Dillow Smith of New Orleans; three grandchildren, Jason A. Dillow of Louisville, Amanda Nicole Dillow Stallings of Owensboro and Kristen Smith of Savannah, Ga.; and a sister, Ruth Newbolt Yates of Owensboro.
Services are at 1 p.m. Monday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Burial is in Pleasant Grove cemetery in Sorgho. Visitation is from 1 to 6 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Monday at James H. Davis Funeral Home in Owensboro. Robert Cornellius 'Bootsie' Johnson

Robert Cornellius "Bootsie" Johnson, 45, of 732 Kentucky Parkway, Owensboro, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004, at his home. He was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Peggy Sue Johnson; a son, Cornellius Leon Johnson; two daughters, Tonia Pate and Tina Johnson; his mother, Juanita Johnson; three brothers, Larry Winstead, Darnell Johnson and Jerry Winstead; and four sisters, Julia Lewis, Latonia Winstead, Lavinna Palmer and Bonnie Winstead.
Services are private. Glenn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
William L. 'Buddy' Powell

CLEATON -- William L. "Buddy" Powell, 77, of 52 Main St., Cleaton, died at 8:45 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at his residence. He was born Dec. 22, 1926, in Muhlenberg County and was a member of the Baptist faith. He was self employed in appliance repair and an Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Lena Powell; and a brother, Junior Ray Powell.
Survivors include his companion, Eva Lou Yonts of Cleaton; a brother, Kenneth (Wanda) Powell of Owensboro; two sisters, Sybil (Vernon) Walls of Crown Point, Ind., and Jonelle (Bobby) Williams of Clarksville, Tenn.; six nephews; and five nieces.
Services are at 1 p.m. today, Nov. 14, at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with the Rev. T.H. Davis officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery in Central City.
Mayme Margaret Young

Mayme Margaret Young, 89, of 409 Dieterle Drive South, Owensboro, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born on May 9, 1915, in McLean County to the late S.M. and Emmer Mae (Earl) Jennings. She was a member of St. Stephen Cathedral. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Boone, in 1964.
She is survived by two nieces, Margaret Towery of Owensboro and Martha Stites of Calhoun; four half sisters, Patty Henderson of Evansville, Catherine Hale of Red Hill, Trease Hoagland of Sorgho and Johnnie Turner of Owensboro; a half brother, Bennie R. Boone of Owensboro; five great-nieces; four great-nephews; and several half nieces and nephews.
Graveside services are at 2 p.m. today, Nov. 14, at Glenville Baptist Church cemetery in Daviess County. Visitation will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. today at James H. Davis Funeral Home.
Archie Dixon Freels Jr.

Archie Dixon Freels Jr., 82, of 1205 Leitchfield Road, Owensboro, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004, at Leisure Years Nursing Home. He was born Nov. 25, 1921, in Daviess County to the late Archie and Christine Freels Sr. He was a retired farmer and enjoyed baseball and basketball. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. He was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren; four brothers, Herbert, Edward, Woodrow and James Freels; and a sister, Martine Maglinger.
He is survived by four sons, Arnold Freels and wife, Brenda, of Owensboro, Roger Freels and wife, Judi, of Parker, Colo., Larry Freels and wife, Shirley, of Owensboro and Timothy Freels and wife, Mary, of Owensboro; three daughters, Linda Goins Amerson and husband, Glenn, of Farmington, Mo., Kathy Freels Keel and husband, Larry, of Evansville and Connie Jo Freels of Louisville; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Frances McCarty of Calhoun and Mary Freels Gaither of Owensboro.
Services are at 10:30 p.m. Monday at James H. Davis Funeral Home chapel. Burial is in Rosehill cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 2 to 6 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Ray W. Miller

ST. JOSEPH -- Ray W. Miller, 80, of St. Joseph died at 11:45 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at Hillcrest Health Care Center. He was born Dec. 29, 1923, in McLean County to Roy Miller and Bessie Igleheart Miller and retired as a carpenter. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II as an airplane mechanic and was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Hazel Miller; a son, Gary Wathen of Owensboro; two daughters, Marnitta Woosley and her husband, Danny, of Calhoun and Donna Gregory of Bremen; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Bill Miller of Louisiana; two sisters, Helen Murch of Slaughters and Maxine Ralston of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.
Services are at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 8 to 9:15 a.m. Monday at Haley-McGinnis Funeral Home. Prayers will be said at 5 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in St. Alphonsus cemetery. The Rev. Greg Trawick will officiate.
Louise Phillips Howard

BEECH GROVE -- Louise Phillips Howard, 85, of Beech Grove died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. Louise Phillips was born July 20, 1919, in Muhlenberg County to the late Lewis S. and Gertie Whitmer Phillips. She was a 1939 graduate of the former Beech Grove High School and was married
to Charles S. Howard on Aug. 20, 1940. Louise was a homemaker and had retired from the former Charles Chips factory in Calhoun. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where she was active in the Cumberland Presbyterian Women's Organization. Louise had served as a Sunday school teacher for more than 50 years for different community churches, was a member of the Captain William Rowan Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and was a member of Sacramento Chapter No. 67, Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a past worthy matron of the Vienna Chapter No. 66, Order of the Eastern Star. Her husband, Charles S. Howard, died Oct. 20, 1973.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Ruby and Brenda Howard of Owensboro; two daughters and their husbands, Anita and Odean Lowery and Tina and Robin Underwood, all of Beech Grove; five grandchildren, Stacy Head, Charlie Howard, Samuel Underwood, Cammie Underwood and Wil Underwood; a stepgranddaughter, Morrisa Costanzo; four great-grandchildren, Whitney Head, Ben Head, Molly Howard and Mattie Howard; three stepgreat-grandsons, Mark Costanzo, Matt Costanzo and Nick Costanzo; and an aunt, Rilda Devine of Greenville.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel, with the Rev. James Alexander officiating. Burial will be in Boston cemetery near Beech Grove. Friends may visit with the Howard family from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. until time of services Monday at Musters in Calhoun.

Marilyn Ann (Taylor) Hagan

Marilyn Ann (Taylor) Hagan, 73, of 1205 Leitchfield Road, Owensboro, died Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, at Leisure Years Nursing Home in Owensboro. She was born on June 1, 1931, in Daviess County to the late John and Lula Pearl (Wilson) Taylor. She was a member of Buena Vista Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Hagan; two brothers, Bennie Taylor and John Taylor; and a sister, Evelyn Wathen.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Vicki Hagan of Owensboro; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Imogene Stevens of California; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be private. James H. Davis Funeral Home in Owensboro is in charge of arrangements.
Dana Lynn Waltrip

CENTRAL CITY -- Dana Lynn Waltrip, 30, of Central City died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident in Central City. She was from Hancock County but lived in Central City. She was an emergency medical technician and was attending college for CSI and was due to graduate in March 2005. She was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Philpot.
Survivors include her husband, Barry Waltrip of Central City; five sons, Lee Waltrip, 10, Nathan Waltrip, 8, Patrick Waltrip, 6, Randy Waltrip, 4, and Trenton Waltrip, 2, all of Central City. Her mother and father, Mexie and Billy Boling of Hancock County; two brothers, David Cotton and Darrell Jewell, both of Owensboro; three nieces, Alison, Leighangel and Abigale. She enjoyed her family, kids, work and lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed gardening in the summer.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with graveside services at 1 p.m. at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church cemetery in Philpot. Visitation will be held Sunday after 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Walter J. 'Jack' Edge

FORDSVILLE -- Walter J. "Jack" Edge, 68, of Fordsville died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born in Ohio County and was the owner-operator of Jack Edge Grocery Feed & Hardware Store in Fordsville for 50 years. He was the mayor of Fordsville from January 1997 to present and president of the fire board from 1994 to 2004. He was a member of Newton Springs Baptist Church and was the men's class Sunday school teacher. He was preceded in death by a son, Lindell "Keith" Edge on Nov. 23, 1993.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Edge of Fordsville; two sons, Richard Cravens of Fordsville and Greg Cravens and wife, Jennifer, of Meridian, Idaho; a daughter-in-law, Lori Stone of Owensboro; three grandchildren, Morgan and Nicholas Cravens, both of Meridian, and Katie Stone of Owensboro; four brothers, James Edge and wife, Willya Ann, and Homer Edge and wife, Vivian, all of Reynolds Station, Denzil Edge and wife, Sharon, of Louisville and Irvin Edge and wife, Peggy, of Central City; three sisters, Emogene Rearden of Hartford, Mary Smith and husband, Kenny, of Fordsville and Margaret Jarboe and husband, John, of Owensboro.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Newton Springs Baptist Church in Hancock County, with burial in Fordsville cemetery. Visitation will be after noon today and from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday at Geary Funeral Home in Fordsville and after 1 p.m. until service time Sunday at the church. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Newton Springs Baptist Church Building Fund.
Doris H. Greder

OMAHA, Neb. -- Doris H. Greder, 78, of Omaha has died. Born in Ohio County to the late Robert Maple and Mabel Hunt, she attended Daviess County High School and Western Kentucky State Teachers College and received her master's degree from Kansas State University. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Greder; and a brother, Robert Hunt.
She is survived by her children, Marty Swenson, Teresa Coppersmith and William Coppersmith; a brother, Ray Hunt; a sister, Joan Clifford; and four grandchildren.
Services will be held in Omaha today, Nov. 13. Braman Mortuary, 1702 N. 72nd St., Omaha, is in charge of arrangements.
