Mary Fogle Boone Head

Mary Fogle Boone Head, 79, of 720 Delray St., Owensboro died Wednesday, July 14, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born in Daviess County on Nov. 28, 1924, to the late Travis Eugene and Thelma M. (House) Fogle. She was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, nature and gardening. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joe W. Boone, on May 31, 1969; and by her second husband, Joseph E. Head.
Survivors include a son, Barry Joseph Boone of Henderson; a daughter, Sharon Boone Rone of Owensboro; three grandchildren, Kristi Millay, April Daugherty and John W. Rone, all of Owensboro; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Houston of Owensboro; and several nieces and nephews.
Services are at 10 a.m. Friday, July 16, 2004, at Precious Blood Church in Owensboro. Burial is in Mater Dolorosa cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 to 9:30 a.m. on Friday at James H. Davis Funeral Home, where prayers will be said at 6 p.m. today.
Lennie C. Dennis

MADISONVILLE - Mrs. Lennie C. Dennis, 82, of 6948 Anton Road, Madisonville, died at 5:30 p.m., Sunday, July 18, 2004, at her residence. She was born Jan. 28, 1922, in Muhlenberg County. She was a retired clothing sales clerk and enjoyed genealogical research.
Survivors include a son, Dale Dennis of Louisville; three daughters, Cynthia Weir of Greenville, Ind., Mary Allen of Hixson, Tenn., and Anita Saulsgiver of Holister, Fla.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, William M. Childress and Robert L. Childress, both of LaPorte, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Dennis, in 2003.
Services are at 11 a.m. Friday, July 23, at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with the Rev. Leroy Rearden officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery in Central City. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Verrell D. Crowe

Verrell D. Crowe, 70, of Owensboro died Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born in Hancock County, retired from Local 181 and was a member of Pellville Baptist Church. He was a member and past master of Hawesville Masonic Lodge 115 and loved fishing, hunting and his little dog, Abby. He was preceded in death by a son, Barry D. Crowe.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Emogene Bryant Crowe; three daughters, Onda Brummett of Hawesville, Pamela Grant of Lewisport and Trenta Dickson of Pellville; two grandsons; a granddaughter; a great-grandson; and two sisters, Wilma Thompson of Owensboro and Regina Rice of Hawesville.
Services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pellville Baptist Church. Burial will be in Pellville cemetery. Visitation is after 1 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Wednesday at Cecil Funeral Home in Whitesville. Masonic services will be at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Pellville cemetery.

ISLAND - Wayne M. Boone, 89, of Island died Friday, July 16, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Brockwell and Peggy Reichard; a brother, Johnny Euell; and a sister, Frances Jewell.
Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home in Henderson. Burial: Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson. Visitation: From 2 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Ruth Catherine Jaeger

Ruth Catherine Jaeger, 81, of 108 E. 7th St., Owensboro, died Tuesday, July 6, 2004, at her home. She was born in Brown County, Wis., on Dec. 31, 1922, to the late Joseph Edward and Elizabeth (Busch) Jaeger. She was a hairdresser at Lifestyle Hair for 40 years and was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include a son, William R. Sumrall Jr. of Gulfport, Miss.; a daughter, Patricia Matthews and husband Mike of Owensboro; two grandchildren, Brian Hall and Cameron Sumrall; two stepgrandchildren, Terry Matthews and wife Andrea and Barry Matthews; three great-grandchildren, Chloé Hall, Seldon Gaines Hall and Triston Whisenant; and two stepgreat-grandchildren, Tyler and Amanda Matthews.
There will be no services or visitation. James H. Davis Funeral Home in Owensboro is in charge of arrangements. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice & Palliative Care of the Ohio Valley, 723 Harvard Drive, Owensboro, KY 42301.
Raymond Powers Jr.

Mr. Raymond Powers Jr. , 67, of 1727 Hughes Ave., Owensboro, died Saturday, July 24, 2004, at his home. He was born Aug. 20, 1936, to Raymond and Mary Elizabeth Whitten Powers Sr. in Hancock County. He was a certified mechanic, retired from Daviess County Sand & Gravel. He was a member of Mount Eden Baptist Church in Hancock County. He enjoyed NASCAR, car trading, and cooking and grilling was his specialty.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Powers Sr., on Jan. 15, 1986; a son, David C. Powers, on Oct. 3, 2001; and a brother, Louis Darrell Powers, on Sept. 18, 2000.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Sharon L. Powers of Owensboro; one son, Sherman Ray Powers of Owensboro; four daughters, Kristie Melton of Knottsville, Kathy Williams of Owensboro, Norma Powers of Peoria, Ill., and Lanita McElyea of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; his mother, Mary Powers of Owensboro; one nephew; and two nieces.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday, July 26, 2004, at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro with entombment in Resurrection cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until 3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Orval C. McLaughlin Sr.

CALHOUN - Orval C. McLaughlin Sr., 79, of Calhoun died Friday, July 9, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. Orval was born Jan. 7, 1925, in Rumsey to the late Walter and Lizzy McLaughlin and was married
to the former Elizabeth Young on Jan. 26, 1946. He had retired from Chrysler Corporation, also worked for Kentucky Department of Highways and was a member of Calhoun Baptist Church. He also enjoyed coon and rabbit hunting. He was preceded in death by a son, Wendell S. McLaughlin, on April 11, 1994.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Libby; a son and his wife, Orval and Krista McLaughlin Jr. of Bowling Green; four grandchildren, Scott and Lisa McLaughlin of Jeffersonville, Ind., Sarah McLaughlin Rhoads of Central City, Braden Davis McLaughlin and Carissa Danielle McLaughlin, both of Bowling Green; five great-grandsons; two brothers, Gordon McLaughlin of Rumsey and D.W. McLaughlin of Owensboro; and two sisters, Violet Evelyn Willis of Evansville and Loleta Dixon of Melbourne, Fla.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with Dr. Richard Sams and the Rev. Danny Greene officiating. Burial will be in Poplar Grove cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with the McLaughlin family from noon until 6 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until time of services Monday at Musters in Calhoun.

ROCKPORT, Ind. - Virginia Lillpop, 74, of Rockport died Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at her home. Virginia was born on Dec. 29, 1929, to the late Curtis and Lelia P. (Bryant) Mitchell. She was a retired cook for South Spencer School Corp. and a member of Larkin Baptist Church in Rockport. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Ralph Lillpop, in 2003; and a brother, Curtis Mitchell Jr.
Surviving are two daughters, Karen Richey of Rockport and Shannon Small and husband Jackie of Owensboro; a brother, Vernon Mitchell of Cannelton, Ind.; two sisters, Doris Grieve of Huntingburg, Ind., and Thelma Suter of Cahokia, Ill.; five grandchildren, David Richey, Angela Bevins, Bobby Small, Kristi Gilmore and Jamie Conrad; and 10 great-grandchildren, Heather, Lari and Jamie Richey, Bobbi Jo and Garrett Small, Gavin Gilmore, Kayla and Makenzie Conrad, and Dylan and Kira Bevins.
Services are at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 31, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home, with the Rev. Freeman Powell officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh cemetery in Rockport. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday and after 8 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurses Association in Tell City, Ind.
Francis 'Frank' Howard

LOUISVILLE - Francis "Frank" Howard, 59, of Louisville died Tuesday, July 20, 2004, at his home. He was a retired nuclear medicine teacher at University of Louisville School of Medicine, a graduate of Bellarmine College, a registered X-ray nuclear and ultrasound technician and an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his father, Junius Howard.
He is survived by his mother, Velma Howard; brothers, Jim, Tony (Trish), Patrick (Ruby) and Michael Howard; and sisters, Anne Howard, Angela (Tony) Kaelin, Rose Howard, Jeanne Howard and Kathy (Ken) Weikel.
The funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 6105 S. 3rd St., Louisville, with burial in Calvary cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at J.E. Ratterman & Son Funeral Home, family owned, 7330 Southside Drive. Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Thomas More Building Fund.
Lisa Diane Payne

Lisa Diane Payne, 42, of 3340 Old Mill Lane, died Saturday, July 24, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System.
Lisa was a 1980 graduate of Owensboro Catholic High School and was most recently employed by Quebecor World in Versailles as a customer service representative.
Lisa was an avid collector of antiques, loved interior design and also enjoyed outdoor gardening.
She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Richard Jones; and her grandparents, Mr. Edward Ivo Payne and Neizer and Roberta Westerfield.
Survivors include two sons, Tim "Drew" Coleman and Taylor Dickens, and her mother, Margaret Jones, all of Owensboro; her father and stepmother, Gerald and Pat Payne of Livermore; two sisters, Christie Payne Clark and husband Mike and Carrie Jones of Owensboro; her grandmother, Mary Lois Payne of Knottsville; a nephew, Hayden Clark; a niece, Kendal Jones; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of Lisa's life will be held at Haley-McGinnis Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today with prayers at 6 p.m., and from 8 to 9:30 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Services will be held at SS. Joseph & Paul Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Resurrection cemetery.
