Darius Rudisill

ROCKPORT, Ind. -- Darius Rudisill, 85, of Rockport died Sunday, May 27, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Rockport, Ind., native was a retired farmer and an Army veteran of World War II and received the Purple Heart. He was a life member of Disabled American Veterans and a member of Richland General Baptist Church. His son, Darius Eugene Rudisill, died in 1948.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Ruth Rudisill; a son, John Rudisill of Rockport, Ind.; a daughter, Wanda Moody of Palmyra, Mo.; four grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, Ind. Burial will be in Shiloh cemetery in Rockport. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Richland General Baptist Church.
Lewis Edward Payton
Lewis Edward Payton, 62, of Shelbyville, died Tuesday, June 24, 2003, at his home.
He was a native of Franklin County and a self-employed truck driver.
Survivors include his fiancee and caregiver, Barbara Ritchie of Shelbyville; and a brother, William Payton of Shelbyville.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Lizzie Washington
Lizzie Washington, 105, of Shelbyville, died Saturday, June 28, 2003, at Homestead Nursing Center in New Castle.
She was a native of Spencer County, and a retired cafeteria worker at Shelbyville High School.
Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy McKnight of Shelbyville.
The funeral is 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hall-Taylor Funeral Home. Visitation is 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Jessica Lane Whisman
Jessica Lane Whisman, 18, of Frankfort, died Friday, June 27, 2003, at the UK Medical Center in Lexington.
She was a native of Franklin County and a graduate of Western Hills High School.
Survivors include grandparents Marvin and Mary Whisman of Bagdad.
The funeral was Tuesday at LeCompte-Johnson-Taylor Funeral Home in Frankfort.
Burial was in Frankfort cemetery.
George Edward Andrews

MORGANTOWN -- George Edward Andrews, 86, of Morgantown died Sunday, May 27, 2001, at Medical Center in Bowling Green. The Butler County native was a farmer and member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Exie Givens Andrews; four sons, Claudy Andrews of Mount Vernon, Ind., Clydie Andrews of Russellville, Eddie Andrews of Morgantown and Jack Andrews of Booneville, Ind.; five daughters, Mae Chatman of Evansville, Betty Ladewig, Judy Alford and Patty Renfrow, all of Morgantown, and Kay Landrum of South Boston, Va.; 12 grandchildren; 16 stepgrandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 14 stepgreat-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; a brother, Presley Andrews of New Albany, Ind.; and a sister, Marie Rayhill of Louisville.
Services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Jones Funeral Chapel in Morgantown. Burial will be in Union cemetery in Morgantown. Visitation is after 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mary Odell Jackson
Mary Odell Jackson, 73, of Louisville, formerly of Shelby County, died Sunday at Norton Hospital.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. today at New Goshen Presbyterian Church, 12900 W. Hwy 42, Prospect. A private burial will be held in Eminence cemetery. Visitation will follow the memorial service at the church.
Pearson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
James William Yocum
James William Yocum, 85, of Springfield, died Sunday, July 27, 2003.
Survivors include three daughters, Wanda Carol Yocum of Jeffersonville, Ind. and Martha Ruth Yocum and Sara Overall of Shelbyville; five sons, Thomas Harry Yocum, Robert William Yocum, Charles Edward Yocum, Larry Vonzell Yocum Sr. and Joseph Arthur Yocum of Shelbyville; a brother, Albert Yocum of Lebanon; and a sister, Mattie Railey of Shelbyville.
The funeral was July 30 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Margaret White Quire
Margaret White Quire, 96, of Anderson County, died Friday, Aug. 1, 2003.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Elizabeth "Pip" Quire and Eva H. Clark of Frankfort; a stepdaughter, Nickye Burgin of Memphis, Tenn.; three stepsons, Lonnie Quire of Frankfort and Ray Mefford Quire and Richard Quire of Bagdad; and a sister, Anna Belle Wood of Lawrenceburg.
The funeral was Sunday at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home in Lawrenceburg.
Carolyn Virginia Franklin
Carolyn Virginia Franklin, 67, of Shelbyville, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2003.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Grove Hill cemetery with the Rev. Jesse Baxter officiating.
Visitation is before the service from 9 to 11 a.m. at Shannon Funeral Home.
Dr. Robert Grace Shaver

CENTRAL CITY -- Dr. Robert Grace Shaver, 87, of Central City died Saturday, May 26, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Muhlenberg County native was a retired minister, a member of Kentucky Conference United Methodist Church and served for eight years as trustee of Kentucky Wesleyan College and 20 years as trustee for Methodist Hospital. He received a bachelor's degree from KWC, an honorary degree from Union College and made many donations to Loucon Capital Campaign. His wife of 64 years, Ruby Shaver, died Oct. 22, 1997.
Survivors include a brother, Charles Shaver of Central City, and several nephews and nieces.
Services are at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial will be in Fairmount cemetery in Central City. Visitation is after 5:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Camp Loucon.
Brenda Brooks
Brenda Brooks, 60, of Simpsonville, died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2003.
Survivors include two sons, Kerwin Lee Moran of Louisville and Christopher Moran of Burbank, Calif.; a daughter, Sonya Payne of Marietta, Ga.; two sisters, Barbara Stewart and Mary Jones of Finchville; two brothers, Carlos Cochran of Louisville and Lilburn "Hook" Cochran of Orlando, Fla.; and her fiancé, Oscar Seymour of Louisville.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday at Shannon Funeral Home. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Martine Bridget 'Marty' Dorth
Martine Bridget "Marty" Dorth, 80, of Shelbyville, formerly of Louisville, died Monday, Aug. 4, 2003.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Powell and Rebecca Dorth; a brother, William Pate; and two sisters, Edna Hanke and Lois Krause.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at The Masonic Home in Shelbyville.
Louis C. Sandefur

CALHOUN -- Louis C. Sandefur, 69, of Calhoun died Friday, June 1, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Florence, Colo., native retired from AT&T Corp. of St. Louis. He was a member of Calhoun Christian Church, an Air Force veteran of the Korean War and a Kentucky Colonel. His wife, Elsie Mae Sandefur, died Jan. 10, 2000.
Survivors include a brother, George Sandefur of Canon City, Colo.; two sisters, Ruth Jenkins of Canon City and Dora Epley of Calhoun; and several nephews and nieces.
Services are at 3:30 p.m. today at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. Burial will be in Calhoun cemetery in McLean County. Visitation is after 11 a.m. today at the funeral home. Margaret Slucher Delling
Margaret Slucher Delling, 87, of Shelbyville, died Monday, Aug. 4, 2003.
Survivors include a son, Bob Delling of Georgetown, Ind.; and a brother, Leonard Slucher of Graefenburg.

Gail S. Huecker
Gail S. Huecker, 75, of Simpsonville, died Monday, Aug. 4, 2003.
Survivors include four sons, Fred J. Huecker, Shannon Huecker, Joe J. Huecker, and Laurance Huecker.
The funeral is noon Friday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 3345 Lexington Rd., in Louisville.
Visitation is 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Pearson's Funeral Home in Louisville.
Welborn 'Bill' Hargan

Welborn "Bill" Hargan, 86, of 520 Yale Place, Owensboro, died Friday, June 1, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. The McLean County native retired from Colonial Bakery in 1976 as a maintenance engineer and was a former automobile mechanic for Harry Holder Ford-Lincoln-Mercury in Owensboro. He was a Pentecostal and a third degree Mason.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Nova M. Hargan; a son, Walter James Hargan of Utica; four daughters, Martha Young of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; Mary Wilgus of Campbellsville, Sallie Wright of Richmond and Linda Wardle of Paint Lick; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Services are at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at James H. Davis Funeral Home chapel in Owensboro. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Rachel and Amber LeCompte
Rachel Marie and Amber Nicole LeCompte, infant twins, died at the University of Louisville Hospital. Rachel Marie LeCompte died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2003. Amber Nicole LeCompte died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2003.
Survivors include parents, Michael and Karen LeCompte of Mount Eden; brothers, Jacob and Zachary LeCompte; grandparents Mike and Fay LeCompte of Fisherville, John and Diann Franklin of Oldham County and Mike and Margaret Walker of Simpsonville; great-grandparents Glenn and Nina Schultz of Fisherville and Elizabeth Murphy of Jeffersontown; and great-great-grandparent, Josie Heady of Fisherville.
