Janice Roark Robinson, 63, of Park City, died Sunday, May 30, 2004 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Woodrow Roark and Essie Frederick Roark.
She is survived by her husband Charles Robinson; one daughter: Patricia Duke of Park City ; one grandson: Matthew Duke of Glasgow ; one brother: Woodrow Roark, Jr. of Trosper, KY ; three sisters: Joyce Jones of Artemus, KY Alma Martin of Artemus, KY and Corliss Debosh of Ohio.
Funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Hopper Funeral in Barbourville, KY with burial in the Tinsley cemetery in Barbourville. Visitation will be after 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home and after 10:00 A. M. Wednesday at the Hopper Funeral Home.
Mary Lois Perkins
July 2, 1924 - February 13, 2005
Mary Lois Perkins, 80, Franks Mill Road, Glasgow, died Sunday, February 13, 2005, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. A daughter of the late Minnie Huff and Henry T. Staples, she was a retired receptionist and secretary at Salvation Army and Community Relief in Glasgow. She was also a former dental hygienist in the office of Dr. Fred Marshall.
Survivors include two sons, William E. “Bud” Kingrey and his wife, Phyllis Ann, and Chester L. Kingrey, Jr. and his wife, Jo Ann, all of Glasgow; six grandchildren, William Kelly Kingrey of Cave City, Carisa Leann Jackson, Kerri Breanna Kingrey, Connie Birge and Corey Kingrey all of Glasgow, and Brandon Kingrey of Louisville; three sisters, Bess Riddle and Madell Bagby of Glasgow and Peggy Polson of Allen County; four brothers, Henry Ellison Staples, Milburn Staples and James Follis Staples all of Glasgow and Leroy Staples of Leitchfield; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Edward Leo Kingrey and one brother, Loren David Staples.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2005, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Homer Owens Reece
March 12, 1930 - April 7, 2002
Homer Owens Reece age 72 of the Edmonton Road Glasgow died Sunday at his residence. He was the Son of the late John Owen and Virgie Ferguson Reece. He was a retired farmer of both Barren and Metcalfe Counties and was a member of the Big Meadow Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Leeoma Ethel Bowles Reece. One Daughter: Linda Lyons and her husband Larry. Two Sons: David Reece and his wife Sheila and Eddie Reece and his wife Angela all of Glasgow. Eight Grandchildren: Amy Brown and her husband Steve, Jeremy Reece and his wife Rachael, Daniel Reece, Kevin Lyons and his wife Lori, April Smith and her husband Shane, Michelle Taylor and her husband Justin, Aaron Reece and Natalie Reece all of Glasgow. Three Great Grandchildren: Courtney Lyons, Faylee’ Brown and Zoe Taylor. One Brother: Rev. Orville Reece and his wife Margaret of Glasgow. One Sister: Melissa Jones of Bowling Green. A Half Sister: Ernestine Greer of Bowling Green.
He was preceded in death by two sisters: Clara Bray and Rosie DeWeese. Three brothers: Eugene, Vernon and Willie Reece. Several half brothers and sisters also proceeded in him in death.
Funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 11:00 AM Tuesday.
Oval Nichols Phillips
July 18, 1916 - September 27, 2003
Oval Nichols Phillips, 87, Glasgow, died Saturday, September 27, 2003, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital . A native of Barren County, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Polly Shirley Nichols. She was owner and operator of the Phillips Paint and Paper Store in Glasgow, a charter member of the Glasgow B & PW Club, a member of the First Christian Church and the Golden Rule Sunday School Class.
Survivors include five nieces and nephews, Jo-Ann Tolle and her husband, James, of Glasgow, Philip Nichols and his wife, Ann, of Danville, Wayne Nichols and his wife, Susan, of Glasgow, Judy Flanders and Suzanne Nichols of Glasgow; nine great-nieces and nephews, Angie Witty, Allyson Sutherland, Steve Laforge, Cindy Greer, Mark Nichols, Julie Ashmun, Polly Nichols, Heather Thomas and Laura Nichols; four great-great-nieces, Sarah Greer, Shelby Greer, Leslie LaForge and Hayden Sutherland; two sisters-in-law, Velma Nichols and Helen Nichols; her special caregiver, Nina Thompson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hazel Phillips; two brothers, Joe Nichols and Harvey Nichols; and one nephew, Ronnie Nichols.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 29, 2003, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery . Friends may call after 12 noon Sunday at the funeral home.
John Clinton Poteet, Jr.

John Clinton Poteet, Jr., 59, A.M. Wade Road, Glasgow, died Sunday at his residence. He was the son of the late John Sr. and Mossie McDaniel Poteet. He was a machinist for Madison-Smith and a member of the Grider Memorial Baptist Church.
Besides his parents a brother Robert Poteet preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Franklin Poteet. Three daughters: Rita Wilson, Karen Elmore and Christie Mosby all of Glasgow. Two Sons: Mike poteet and Johnny Poteet both of Hiseville. Twelve Grandchildren and one Great Grandchild. Two Step Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville cemetery. Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Lucille Whittle Rutledge
June 3, 1915 - May 19, 2004
Lucille Whittle Rutledge, 88, Shelia Drive, Glasgow, died Wednesday, May 19, 2004, at Helmwood Healthcare in Elizabethtown, where she had resided for the past four years. She was the daughter of the late Acy and Kate Ford Whittle. Mrs. Rutledge was an avid traveler and very active in community affairs in Glasgow and Barren County . She was a former secretary to Gov. Louie Nunn; a bookkeeper at Glasgow Automotive Supply; a member of the Glasgow Garden Club; a member of the Glasgow Baptist Church ; and a member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the T. J. Samson Community Hospital .
Survivors include three nieces, Linda Whittle Hawkins of Jacksonville, FL, Debbie Whittle Emerson of Elizabethtown, and Sarah Whittle Edmondson of Miamisburg, OH.; two nephews, Orville Whittle of Leitchfield and Donnie Whittle of Smiths Grove; two step-children, Kitty Miller and Rusty Rutledge both of California; twelve great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Foster Hardin Rutledge; two brothers, Marshall Whittle and Harold Whittle; one nephew, Terry Emerson; one great-niece, Robin Pastirko; one great-nephew, Steve Whittle.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 2004, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Joyce Lynn Poynter
August 14, 1940 - May 26, 2004
Joyce Lynn Poynter, 63, Glasgow, died Wednesday, May 26, 2004, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital . A native of Barren County, she was a daughter of Laymon Poynter and the late Ruby Wheeler Poynter of Glasgow. She had been an employee of Sorensen’s in Glasgow and the housekeeping department at Glasgow State Nursing Facility. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church
Survivors include her father, Laymon Poynter of Glasgow; one sister, Linda Pedigo of Columbus, Indiana; six nieces and nephews, William Gene Pedigo, Jr. of Glasgow, Lisa Cheryl Beltz, Jeffrey Garnett Pedigo, Trina Dawn Rose, Kevin Lynn Pedigo and Julia Carol Brown all of Columbus, IN. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by one nephew, Michael Allen Pedigo.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 29, 2004, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville cemetery. Friends may call after 3:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Rondall Ramey
Rondall Ramey age 81 of the Coral Hill-Halfway Road Glasgow died Sunday July 15, 2001 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. He was the Son of the late George W. and Julia Davis Ramey and the husband of the late Anna Marie Jackson Ramey. He was a retired farmer, a veteran of W.W. II and a member of the Coral Hill Church of Christ.
Besides his parents and wife he was preceded in death by Three Brothers: Leon, Kenneth and Joe Ramey. One Nephew: Kenny Ramey.
He is survived by one daughter: Brenda Ramey of Glasgow. Four Grandchildren: Alex, Chase, Clay Chase, Helena Chase and Ian Kinslow all of Glasgow. One Great Grand Child: Aaron Chase. Two Brothers: Roscoe Ramey and his wife Margaret of Cave City and Robert Ramey of Coral Hill. Three Sisters: Allison Harrison and her husband Richard of Florida, Emogene Word and her husband Moody of Summer Shade and Frances Ann Beasley and her husband Wayne of North Carolina.
Funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at funeral home after 3:00 P.M. Monday.
Joe Allen Reece
May 21, 1962 - March 4, 2002
Joe Allen Reece, 39, of Knob Lick, Ky. died Monday, March 4, 2002 at his residence. He was the son of Joseph and Betty Reece of Savoyard. He was a member of the Savoyard Baptist Church. He was a custodian at the Metcalfe County High School.
Besides his parents he survived by two brothers: Ricky Reece and his wife Vickie of Hiseville and John Reece of Savoyard; two sisters: Beverly Fields and her husband Mitchell of Savoyard and Kimberly Railey and her husband Thomas of Savoyard; five nieces and nephews: Scott Morgan, Tasha Wilson, James Wilson, Chris Railey and Megan Railey.
Funeral will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Savoyard Baptist Church with burial in the Randolph cemetery in Metcalfe County. Visitation will after 4:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.
Mary Ann Riddle
November 24, 1944 - June 3, 2003
Mary Ann Riddle, 58, Glasgow, died Tuesday at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. The daughter of the late Maxie and Nellie Dennison Foster, she was the widow of the late Clifford Riddle and a member of the First Glasgow General Baptist Church.
Survivors include an aunt and several cousins, including Billy Dale Ferguson of Louisville.

Mary L. Roddy
February 3, 1924 - February 24, 2006
Mary L. Roddy, 82, formerly of Glasgow, died Friday, February 24, 2006, in Granite City, Illinois. A native of Barren County, she was the daughter of the late William Tompie and Mary Annie Hammer Young. She was a retired employee of Crown Laundry and Dry Cleaners and a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Marquita Appleby of Capitan, NM; two granddaughters, Gina Blaylock of Granite City, and Robin Yager of Florissant, MO; three great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Autumn and Joshua.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Duane H. Roddy, and her son, Rev. William Hays Roddy.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 28, 2006, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Brandon Shane Ryan, 31, Glasgow, died Wednesday, June 20, 2007, in Glasgow. He was a former employee of ACK Controls.
Survivors include his mother, Rhonda Jones of Glasgow; four brothers, Cameron Ryan, Mike Ryan, Mark Ryan and Chance Ryan all of Glasgow; one sister, Nicole Ryan of Louisville; maternal grandmother, Eddie Bunch of Glasgow; maternal grandfather, L. W. Bunch and wife, Greta, of Cadiz; paternal grandmother, Marguerite Ryan of Glasgow; special aunt, Juanita Bybee of Glasgow; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Edward Ryan; one brother, Chad Ryan; paternal grandfather, Charlie Jordan Ryan.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2007, at the Glasgow Municipal cemetery under the direction of the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. There will be no visitation.
