Clevie Martin Riley, 88, Shelley Drive, Glasgow, died Saturday at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. She was a retired seamstress at Handmacher Fashions in Glasgow and a member of the South Green Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include one son, Fred Riley and his wife, Judy, of Glasgow; three grandchildren, Nicholas Riley, Jennifer Nuchols and her husband, Randy, and Anne Johnson and her husband, Danny, Jr. all of Glasgow; two great-grandchildren, Bryant and Kelsey Johnson; two sisters, Georgia Johnson and her husband, Howard, of Lebanon, TN and Bea Coleman of Livingston, TN; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Friends may call after 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Eddie Poynter
April 24, 1962 - March 24, 2006
Charles Edward “Eddie” Poynter, 43, Louisville, died Friday, March 24, 2006, at his residence. A native of Barren County, he was a former employee of Clapp Oldsmobile in Louisville and a member of the Servant Valley United Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother and step-father, Faye and Charles Brown of Edmonton; one daughter, Ryan Nicole Hill of Indiana; one grandson, Elijah Hill of Indiana; his maternal grandmother, Gertrude Taylor of Glasgow; four step-sisters, Faye Bailey and Gena McMurrey of Edmonton, Janet Bailey of Greensburg and Tammy Jolly of Glasgow; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elvin Turner “Top” Poynter, and one step-brother, Wesley Brown.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 27, 2006, at the Servant Valley Baptist Church with burial in the Cave City cemetery. Visitation will be after 1:00 p.m. Sunday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home and after 11:00 a.m. Monday at the church.
Dwight Freeman Love
December 28, 1957 - January 13, 2004
Dwight Freeman Love, 46, Hiseville, died Tuesday, January 13, 2004, at his residence. Born December 28, 1957, he was a son of the late John Henry Love and Martha Freeman Love, who survives. He was President and CEO of the John Henry Oil Company, Vice President of Double L Drilling Co, a member of the Tennessee Oil and Gas Association and the Independent Petroleum Association of America. He had served in the military during peacetime.
Other survivors include his fiancée, Brenda C. Williams; one daughter, Erica K. Love of Hiseville; one granddaughter, Jana Beth Freeman Love; three brothers, Dennis Love of Hiseville, Jerry Love of Knoxville, and Ronnie Love and his wife, Betty, of Knob Lick; two sisters, Carolyn Turner and her husband, Bill, of Cave City, Connie Love and her husband, Marty Jessie, of New Orleans; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 17, 2004, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville cemetery. Friends may call after 5:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Sybil Leamon
September 8, 1944 - August 20, 2004
Sybil Keys Leamon, 59, Glasgow, died Friday, August 20, 2004, as a result of an automobile accident. She was a daughter of the late Donnie Vell Howard and George Thomas Keys. Mrs. Leamon was a realtor and broker with Coldwell Banker in Glasgow . She was President of the Barren County Realtors Association, a member of the Kentucky Realtors Association, a member of the Ambassadors Club of the Glasgow-Barren County Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Glasgow Rotary Club, an avid golfer and a member and Sunday School Teacher of Glasgow Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Herbert Leamon; one son, George Leamon and his wife, Jennie Lou, of Glasgow; one daughter, Shari Leamon-Wallace and her husband, Kenyon, of Glasgow; three grandchildren, Megan Nichole Leamon, Gabriel Landon Wallace and Emili Victoria Leamon all of Glasgow; one sister-in-law, Mae Dean Kinslow and her husband, John, of Glasgow; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Louise King, and one brother, J. T. Reagan.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 23, 2004, at the Glasgow Baptist Church with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery . Visitation will be after 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home and after 12 noon Monday at the church. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society or the Scholarship Fund of Glasgow Baptist Church.
Robert Lee Oliver
November 13, 1928 - July 9, 2001
Robert Lee (Chubby) Oliver age 72 of the Bon Ayr Community died today (Monday) at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. He Was the son of the late Pearl and Cora Sisco Oliver. He was a retired shop foreman for Southern Explosives. He was a Driver for Bailey Gibson Buick and Cave City Chevrolet.
He was preceded in death by his first wife: Margaret Carver Oliver
He is survived by his wife: Carolyn Lyons Oliver. Two Sons: Gary Oliver and his wife Shelia and Michael Davis and his wife Shelia all of Glasgow. Two Grandsons: Blake and Josh Oliver.
Funeral will be 3:00 P.M. Thursday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 12 Noon Wednesday.
Venus Edward James
1905 - 2003
Venus Edward James, 97, Glasgow, died Tuesday at the Medical Center at Bowling Green. A son of the late Eli and Lillie Frankie James, he was a retired farmer.
Survivors include five sons, Billy Joe James and his wife, Flora Mae, of Glasgow; Wendell James of Indiana, Albert James of Louisville, Bobby James and his wife, Sue, of Indiana, Donnie James and his wife, Marsha, of Glasgow; four daughters, Kathleen Chambers of Indiana, Betty Miller and her husband, Kenneth, of Indianapolis, Mary Lougene Clark of Glasgow, and Nola Duckworth of California; 38 grandchildren; 71 great-grandchildren; 29 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Goldie Medley James; three daughters, Magaline Elmore, Doris Estes and Melinda James; three brothers, Burn, Jay and Willie James; three sisters, Lula, Rosie James and Jewell Whitlow; 2 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 1:00 PM Saturday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home after 10:00 AM Friday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the James Family.
Frances Irene Edwards Morrison

Frances Irene Edwards Morrison, 82, Hiseville, died Tuesday, August 08, 2006, at the NHC Health Care Center. A native of Barren County, she was a daughter of the late James “Jimmie” Christopher Edwards and Sarah Nunn Edwards Pruitt. She was a retired cook at Hiseville School, a member of the Rock Spring Baptist Church and the Hiseville Order of the Eastern Star # 581.
Survivors include her husband, Virgil “Mutt” Morrison; two daughters, Betty Simmons and husband, Bobby, of Austin, Joyce Steen and husband, Doug, of Glasgow; one son, James W. “Bubba” Morrison and wife, Linda, of Hiseville; two sisters, Madeline DeSalvo of New Jersey and Judy Riordan of Glasgow; five brothers, Alex Edwards, Richard Edwards and Jim Edwards all of Hiseville, Kenny Edwards of Indiana and Billy Edwards of Mt. Washington; her step-mother, Janie Edwards of Hiseville; 7 grandchildren, Paula Brooks (Terry), Steve Simmons (Sherri), Janet Bellamy (Mark), Jamie Morrison (LaDonna), Joyce Bray (Philip), Todd Morrison (Danyel), and Jennifer Pursley (Darold); 9 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Kimberly Simmons; two sisters, Agnes March and Jane Ellen Edwards; five brothers, James Edwards, Raymond Edwards, Roger Edwards, Larry Wayne Edwards and Howard Tom Edwards.

Mary Emogene Woodcock Garrett Reece

Mary Emogene Woodcock Garrett Reece, 56, of Knob Lick, died Monday, January 19, 2004 at the Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN. She is the daughter of Ernestine Lyons Woodcock and the late James Woodcock. She was an instructional aid with the Metcalfe County School System. She was a member of the Wisdom Faith Community Church .
Along with her mother, she is survived by her husband James Ray Reece; one son: Cory Reece of Knob Lick; three daughters: Rhonda Tracy and her husband Mark of Fountain Run, Tonya Ross and her husband Marty of Glasgow and Jenna Runyon and her husband Steve of Glasgow; two step-daughters: Leisa Shirley and her husband Steve of Fountain Run and Connie McCoy and her husband Chris of Owensboro; one brother: Milton Woodcock of Austin; one sister: Barbara Kidd of Knob Lick; Five Grandchildren: Melissa and Markayla Tracy, Zachary and Zoie Ross and Keaton Runyon; three step-grandchildren: Karol Ann Shirley, Kyle Shirley and Natalie McCoy. Also several nieces and nephews survive.

Beartice Plumlee

Beatrice Plumlee, 90, Lawrence Road, Smiths Grove, died Monday at her residence. A native of Barren County, she was a daughter of the late George and Kitty Bishop Richey, a homemaker and farmer.
Survivors include two daughters, Loretta Crumpton and her husband, Cecil, and Pamela Landrum all of Smiths Grove; four grandchildren, Ronnie Hawks and his wife, Wanda, Karen Dickerson and her husband, Stanley, Cindy Stebbins and Kay Landrum; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Dixie Littrell and Genie Plumlee; an infant son; four brothers, Willie B. Richey, Ray Richey, Jimmie D. Richey and Curtis Richey; four sisters, Pearlie Stone, Maymie Lyle, Nellie Donohue and Spencer Lawrence.

Kathleen “Cindy” Jessie Martin, 76, Glasgow, died Wednesday at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. Born November 22, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Polly Ballard and Charlie Wheat Jessie, a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include three grandchildren, Rita Pulliam of West Virginia and Chad Shepard and his wife, Kim, and Henry Spencer all of Glasgow; two great-grandchildren, Ashley Pulliam and J.R. Stone of West Virginia; four sisters, Pauline Morgan and Nora Frenell of Glasgow, Mattie Tatham of Louisville and Nina Pearl Young of Indiana; seven brothers, Pete Jessie (Florence), James Jessie, Lonnie Jessie (Joyce), Raymond Jessie (Jean), and Johnny Jessie (Betty) all of Glasgow, Joe Jessie (Betty) and Leslie Jessie (Barbara) all of Louisville; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Martin; her daughter, Carolyn Shepard and a brother, Charles Henry Jessie.
