Ernest Leech Myers, Jr.
February 1, 1914 - November 13, 2002
Ernest Leech Myers, Jr., son of the late Ernest Leech Myers, Sr. and Hattie Lee Jewell Myers, passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2002. Born on February 1, 1914 in the home of his great uncle, Dr. Joseph Leech on West Brown Street, now the home of Brice T. “Pete” Leech, he represented the fifth generation of pioneer Barren County settlers. He was known affectionately as “Shorty”, a nickname given him by his uncle Preston “Tubby” Jewell.
Having played on the Glasgow High School State Champion Football team of 1928, he graduated from Glasgow High School in the class of 1932. His further education included studies at Western Kentucky State College. He later joined the family business, The Old Planing Mill, where he served as vice president. His career in the field of lumber spanned a lifetime. He was a member of the Kentucky Retail Lumber Dealers Association. A lifelong member of Glasgow Baptist Church, he enjoyed his sevice in the sanctuary choir and member ship in the Keystone Sunday School Class.
“Shorty” followed and supported as a Scottie Booster the sports programs of Glasgow High School as long as possible and was twice named “#1 Fan” by the Glasgow Scotties Football program. An avid sportsman, “Shorty” especially enjoyed dove hunting and fishing at Barren River Reservoir with his buddies.
Mr. Myers served as a director of the New Farmers National Bank. Prior to World War II, he served in the 123rd Cavalry Kentucky National Guard. As a longtime member of the Glasgow Rotary Club he was named a Paul Harris Fellow. He was a member of Allen Lodge #24 F. & A.M. and a Shriner for over sixty years. As a member of TPA he received recognition for over 56 years of membership.
His family and good family times together brought him much pleasure. His marriage, June 19, 1937 to Olive Ethel Whitlow of Old Eighty Eight, KY, was held at high noon at Glasgow Baptist Church. Their two children, Mary Leech (Leechie) Myers McDonald, husband Johnny D. McDonald, of Forest City, NC and Ernest Leech (Ernie) Myers, III and wife Bambie Lynn Trautman of Glasgow, KY survive as do their four grandchildren, Mary Myers McDonald of Greensboro, NC, John Glenn McDonald of Raleigh, NC, Lynn Courtney Myers and Ernest Leech Myers, IV of Glasgow, KY. A nephew and three nieces survive, William Ernest (Bill) Myers of Glasgow, KY, and Charlotte Jean Rogers, Martha Sue Rogers Gilmartin and Rebecca Lee Rogers Lee of Georgia.
Mr. Myers was predeceased by his wife, Ethel Whitlow Myers, after fifty-eight years of marriage, a sister, Mary Charlotte Myers Rogers (John Lewis), and a brother, Elbert Jewell Myers (Ruth Lyon).
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Glasgow Baptist Church with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home and after 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. The Allen Lodge # 24 invites the public to attend masonic services which will be held 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Roy Lee Jackson
October 5, 1926 - April 16, 2004
Roy Lee Jackson, 77, Glasgow , died Friday, April 16, 2004 , at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital . A native of Barren County , he was a son of the late Maude Copass and William Elzie Jackson. He was a retired farmer, a retired Deputy Jailer with the Barren County Jailer’s Office for 15 years and a member of the Faith United Methodist Church for 40 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eddie June Gill Jackson, on February 27, 2004.
Survivors include four children, Billy Jackson and his wife, Vickie, Eddie Carroll Jackson and his wife, Janet, Linda Stephenson and her husband, Archie, Tabitha Jackson and her friend, Timmy Glass, all of Glasgow; two grandchildren, Jeremy Jackson, currently in Iraq, and Robin Garmon; two great-grandchildren, Dakotah Jackson and Matthew Garmon; one brother, Joe Jackson of Glasgow; his mother-in-law, Sarah Eliza Gill Boyd of Glasgow; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sons, Larry Jackson and James David Jackson; five brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 19, 2004, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 12 noon Sunday at the funeral home.
George P. Keesee
August 25, 1918 - July 16, 2005
George P. Keesee, 86, Glasgow, died Saturday, July 16, 2005, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. A native of Erin, Tennessee, he was a son of the late George and Mable Skelton Keesee. He was a retired cook at Neville’s Restaurant in Park City and a veteran of WW II, having served with the United States Army.
Survivors include three brothers, William Keesee of Tullahoma, TN, Milton Keesee of Nashville, and Daniel Keesee and his wife, Jesse, of Erin, TN; three Godchildren, Cymanthia Austin, Christle Austin and Peggy Austin of Glasgow; one step-son, Morris Campbell and his wife, Mary Francis, of Glasgow; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, step-grandchildren and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Earie Dee Austin Campbell Keesee, and two brothers, Charlie Keesee and Robert Keesee.
Funeral services will be held 12 noon Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. Burial, with military honors provided by Glasgow Chapter 20 DAV, will be in the Barber cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The family will receive visitors after 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Minnie B. Pedigo
August 25, 1912 - October 10, 2001
Minnie B. Pedigo, 88, Lecta-Kino Road, Glasgow, died Wednesday, October 10, 2001, at the Glenview Health Care Center. A native of Barren County, she was the daughter of the late Ben and Minnie Bell Jones McClellan. She was a homemaker, had been a sitter and caretaker of the elderly for many years and attended the Columbia Avenue Church of Christ.
Survivors include a daughter, Myeerah Mills and her husband, Raymond, of Glasgow; six grandchildren, Janice Peden, Steve Mills, Kevin Mills, Chris Mills, Darryl Mills and Robin Pedigo Kivett; twelve great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and her son’s special friend and companion, Florence Blankenship.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton W. Pedigo; one son, Howard Clayton “Bud” Pedigo; two grandsons, Jimmy Mills and Tony Pedigo; a brother, Bill McClellan and her step-mother, Bessie Edwards McClellan.

Nellie Lois Rohrbough
January 22, 1936 - November 29, 2001
Nellie Lois Rohrbough, 65, Hiseville, died Thursday at her residence. A daughter of the late Archie and Mary Frances Mills Wheeler, she was a member of the Baptist faith and a member of Chapter 581, Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband, Calvin; three daughters, Grace Morgan, Becky Brown and Tracy Bryant all of Hiseville; eight grandchildren, Kristy Akers, Daryl Morgan, Bubba Rohrbough, Kenneth Brown, Bradon Rohrbough, Freddie Bryant, Teddy Bryant and Barry Lee Rohrbough, Jr.; four brothers, Joe Wheeler of Horse Cave, Bob Wheeler and Jerry Wheeler of Hiseville, Billy Wheeler of Glasgow; one sister, Wanda Morgan of Hiseville; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Barry Rohrbough.

Velma Lee Maupin
March 23, 1920 - June 20, 2001
Velma Lee Maupin, 81, Glasgow, died Wednesday at the Medco Center in Bowling Green. The Barren County native was the daughter of the late Bedford Gillenwater and Mamie Allen Gillenwater McMillian, a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church. She and her late husband, William Maupin, were owners and operators of the Royal Café in Glasgow.
Survivors include 10 nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Rev. Dennis Gillenwater and Earlie Gillenwater and by one sister, LaVerne Helm.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church with burial in the Barlow cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home and after 9:00 a.m. Monday at the church. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 781, Glasgow, KY 42142-0781.
Mary Ann Morgan
July 28, 1966 - March 7, 2006
Mary Ann Morgan, 39, Glasgow, died Tuesday, March 7, 2006, at her residence. She was a daughter of the late Roger and Hettie Frances Jackson Morgan and a member of the Whites Chapel Community Church. She attended the T. J. Samson Adult Day Care.
Survivors include five sisters, Linda Coffey (Timmy), Panzy Wright (Carl), Arline Herron(Dennis), and Sylvia Hatfield (Dennis) all of Glasgow, Louise Wilson (Robin) of Louisville; five brothers, Bernice Jackson (Tammy), Richard Morgan (Vickie), Charles Morgan (Rita), Dale Morgan and Raymond Morgan (Gaye) all of Glasgow; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 11, 2006, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with Rev. George Moses officiating. Burial will be in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Friends may call after 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Lazareth Maulden
December 14, 2004 - September 30, 2005
Lazareth Nathaniel Phoenix Maulden, age 9 months, died Friday, September 30, 2005, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. He was the son of Chris and Michelle Chrisman Maulden.
He is also survived by four brothers and sisters, Brittany Michele Jean, William Christopher Jean, Christopher Brodrick Wayne Maulden, Jr., and Gabriel D’artagnan Michael Maulden; maternal grandparents, Sharon Johnson of Glasgow and Mark Chrisman of Bloomington, IL; paternal grandfather, Wayne Maulden of Lafayette, IN; paternal great-grandparents, Howard and Erna Mull of Rantoul, IL; five uncles, Michael Chrisman of Champaigne, IL, Andrew Wade and Craig Maulden of Morgantown, Curtis Maulden and Clint Maulden of Bowling Green; one aunt, Debbie Maulden of Bowling Green.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Aramis Johnathan Atreyu Maulden and paternal grandmother, Linda Maulden.

Lena Mae Jewell
March 11, 1922 - April 11, 2005
Lena Mae Jewell, 83, Glasgow, died Monday, April 11, 2005, at NHC. A daughter of the late Raymond and Helen Fisher Harrison, she was a native of Barren County, a homemaker and member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Rondall Jewell of Glasgow; one daughter, Carolyn Britt and husband Danny G. of Richmond, KY; two grandsons, Danny Joe Britt and wife Julie of Richmond, KY and Jonathan Patrick Jewell of Millersburg, OH; one granddaughter, Diane Renee Connor and husband, Kent of Millersburg, OH; three great-grandsons, Nathaniel Austin Britt and James Isaac Britt of Richmond, KY and Wyatt Denver Roy Connor of Millersburg, OH; one sister, Ruby Earls of Indianapolis, IN.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney Jewell and son, Rodney Jewell, Jr.

Mary Lucille Reece
November 14, 1914 - July 24, 2008
Mary Lucille Reece, 93, Greensburg, died Thursday, July 24, 2008, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. A daughter of the late Courtney and Mae Hoover, she was a homemaker, the wife of the late Paul Vernon Reece and a member of the Big Meadow Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Joseph Reece and wife, Betty, of Horse Cave, Bobby Reece and Larry Reece both of Greensburg; three daughters, Virginia Craine of Center, Sue Davis and husband, Flevel of Greensburg, and Patricia Bishop and husband, James “John” of Glasgow; one brother, Robert Hoover and wife, Edna, of Eighty-Eight; 22 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Sharon J. Marcum, 53, of Glasgow died Friday, January 7, 2005. She was the daughter of Josie Pearl Jackson and the late William Earl Sartin.
She is survived by her husband Albert D. Marcum; four children: James Edward Vance, Missy Davis and her husband Donnie, Jenny Vance and Barrett Vance all of Glasgow; three grandchildren: Aurora Vance, Serena Davis and Emily Caudill; three sisters: Ruby Jolly and her husband Leonard, Virginia Ousley and LaVerta Garrett and her husband Wayne all of Glasgow; several nieces and nephews also survive.
