Vercie Ann Myers

Vercie Ann Myers, 94 of Glasgow died Sunday, August 24, 2003, at the Glasgow Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the daughter of the late Berford Comer and Della Turner Comer.
She is survived by two sons: Wayne Myers and his wife Ann of Cave City and Ronald Myers and his wife Betty of Glasgow. Seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. One sister: Ruie Barnard of Shelbyville, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband: Carlos Myers, one son: Junior Myers, daughter-in-law: Linda Myers and granddaughter: Linda Myers.
Funeral will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Visitation will be after 3:00 P. M. Monday at the funeral home.
Randy C. Leatham
January 17, 1952 - July 23, 2001
Randy C. Leatham age 49 of Houston, Texas died Monday July 23, 2001 in Houston after a long battle with Muscular Dystrophy. He was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, a carpenter and cabinet maker. He was the son of Arthur L. Leatham and the late Eleanor Leatham.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a twin sister, Roxanne Leatham.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years Marla Kay Scott Leatham of Houston Texas; his father, Arthur Leatham of North Carolina; his step-mother, Susan Leatham of North Carolina; one cousin, Nate Leatham and one uncle, George Leatham, both of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and his mother-in-law, Julia Scott of Glasgow.
Funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Friday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Smith cemetery in Sulphur Well. Friends may call at the funeral home after 10:00 AM Friday.
Ova Jean Maggard
11/01/1925-02/08/2001
Ova Jean (Tootsie) Maggard age 75 of Humble Street, Glasgow died Thursday, February 8, 2001 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Virgil and Allie Mae Smith. She was a retired waitress and a member of the Glasgow Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sisters: Pauline Crawford and Elizabeth Jane Thomas both of Glasgow. Two Brothers: Jackie Smith of Coral Hill and Michael David Smith of Haywood. Two Special Friends that assisted her: Terry Kerney and Cliff Hagan both of Glasgow. Several Cousins also survive.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one sister: Virginia Humphrey and two brothers: Virgil Main smith and William Robert Smith
Funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Friends may call after 9:00 AM Saturday at the funeral home.
Era McDonald
Era McDonald age 95 of the Merry Oaks community died today (Tuesday) at the Glasgow Health and Rehabilitation Center in Glasgow. She was the daughter of the late Marshall and Narcisis Wood Houchens. She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Zion Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband William Isaac McDonald, A son William Leroy McDonald and a Grandchild: Sherla Steen.
She is survived by a daughter: Louise Hester of Merry Oaks. A Daughter In Law: Nettie Campbell of Louisville. Three Granddaughters: Arlene Skaggs of Brownsville, Elaine Roller and Jan Peyton both of Louisville. Six Great Grandchildren: Heather Roller, April Daughtery, Angie Skaggs, Jason Peyton, Chad Roller and Nicholas Skaggs. Three Great Great Grandchildren: Gabe Roller, J. D. Daughtery and Caleb Daughtery. Several Nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5:00 P.M. Wednesday.
Ronnie Joe Love
April 2, 1955 - July 22, 2006
Ronnie Joe Love, 51, of Knob Lick died Saturday, July 22, 2006 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. Born April 2, 1955, he was a son of the late John Henry Love and Martha Freeman Love, who survives.
Besides his mother he is survived by his companion of 28 years Betty Miller; two grandchildren: Christine Jeffries and Rocky Seng; two brothers: Dennis Love of Hiseville and Jerry Love of Knoxville, TN; two sisters: Carolyn Turner and her husband Bill of Cave City and Connie Love and her husband Marty Jessie of New Orleans. Several nieces and nephews.
Besides his father his was preceded in death by his brother Dwight Love.
Funeral will be 3:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville cemetery. Visitation will be after 2:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
Donald Wayne Morgan
July 26, 1935 - March 18, 2005
Donald Wayne Morgan, 69, of Glasgow died Friday, March 18, 2005 at his residence. He was the son of the late Sammy Clifton Morgan and Mary Ruth Harper Morgan. He was retired from MCI long distance, recently had been attending Peter’s Creek Baptist Church and a veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife Jacqueline Barton Morgan; one daughter Lisa Mitchell Bergen; five sons: Kevin Morgan, Steve Morgan, Grant Morgan, Greg Morgan and Jason Morgan; two stepchildren: Krystal Sullivan and Kelby Sullivan; eleven grandchildren: Taylor Morgan, Corey Pollard, Tara Morgan, Meghan Morgan, Brittany Morgan, Jacob Morgan, Ben Morgan, Emily Baker-King, Eleri Dye, Chad White and Chelsey Bragg; one brother A. J. Morgan and his wife Wilma B.; four sisters: Dorothy Holmes, Virginia Merger, Jeanett Jefferies and her husband Ola J. and Drewcilla Cowles and her husband Rick; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Visitation will be after 3:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home. DAV Chapter 20 will provide military honors at the cemetery.
Earie D. Keesee
January 16, 1913 - November 29, 2001
Earie Campbell Keesee, 88, Carden Road, Glasgow, died Thursday at the NHC Health Care Center. A daughter of the late Notion and Josie Ray Austin, she was a homemaker and a member of the Loving Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, George Keesee; one son, Morris Campbell and his wife, Mary Frances of Glasgow; two grandchildren, Yvonne Clark of Louisville and Michael Campbell of Oakland; three great-grandchildren; one nephew, Leo Austin of Horse Cave; several great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Loving Springs Baptist Church with burial in the Barber cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Saturday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.
Geneva Carey Lakin
November 7, 1925 - January 10, 2009
Geneva Carey Lakin, 83, of Glasgow, died Saturday, January 10, 2009 at the Hurstbourne Care Center in Louisville. She was the daughter of the late Walker Carey and Janie McCoy Carey.
She is survived by two sons: Pat Lakin of Utah and Larry L. Lakin and his wife Jennifer of Louisville; two grandchildren: Patrick Carey Lakin and his wife Christie, Jeni-Rebecca Geoghegan and her husband Chris; one great grandchild: Janie Lakin; one brother: Rollie Carey and his wife Becky of Glasgow.
Funeral will be 11:00 A. M. Wednesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery . Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Glasgow Baptist Church.
Rosie Lee Peden
June 10, 1915 - November 1, 2002
Rosie Lee Peden, 87, retired registered nurse and teacher, died Friday, November 1, 2002, at the Barren County Health Care Center. Born June 10, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Charles L. and Lucinda Mansfield Peden.
A member of the First United Methodist Church of Glasgow, she was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army Nurses Corp, and a retired teacher, having been an instructor at the Glasgow School for Practical Nurses. She was a member and past officer of Glasgow Chapter # 257 Order of Eastern Star, serving as secretary for 30 years. She was a member and past officer of Glasgow Shrine, White Shrine of Jerusalem; a member of the Glasgow Past Matrons Club and Past Officers Club of the White Shrine; a member of Edmund Rogers Chapter DAR; and a member of the Armed Forces Retired Officers and Kentucky Retired Teachers Associations.
Survivors include one brother, Charles Howard Peden of Glasgow; three nephews, Charles Turvy of Chillicothe, Ohio; John Turvy of Columbus, Ohio, and Charles H. Peden of Louisville; five nieces, JoAnne Peden Smith of Horse Cave, Wanda Lee Peden of Dayton, Ohio, Sue Peden Gillespie of Glasgow, Rosalee Turvy Blake of Downers Grove, Illinois, and Susan Turvy Saunders of Cincinnati; 15 grand nephews and nieces; 1 great-great nephew.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Lucinda Peden Turvy.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Hatcher and Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Peden Family cemetery. Military honors will be provided by Glasgow Chapter 20 DAV. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the First United Methodist Church of Glasgow.
Richard Parrish
Richard Parrish age 81, of the Coral Hill Road Glasgow, died Saturday, April 21, 2001 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. He was the Son of the late William Richard and Betty McDanial Parrish. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Hiseville Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife: Louise Owen Parrish. One Son: Terry Owen Parrish of Glasgow. Several Cousins, Friends and Good Neighbors survive.
Funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Monday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville cemetery. Visitation will be after 4:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
Jennie Mansfield Ross
December 28, 1910 - September 19, 2007
Jennie Mansfield Ross, 96, Glasgow, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2007, at Barren County Health Care Center. She was the daughter of the late Taylor and Rhetta Bishop and a member of the Glasgow Bible Church.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Ramona and Clyde Martin of Glasgow; three granddaughters, Glenda Martin of Frankfort, and Marsha Mercer and Lisa Cary both of Bowling Green; one great-grandson, Shane Mercer of Bowling Green; three sisters, Patricia Ewing and Caroline Johnson both of Louisville and Brenda Miracle of Aurora, IL; one brother, Leroy Bishop of Florida; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Louie Mansfield and Clarence Ross; her daughter, Greta Cary; a grandson, Lynn Martin; one sister, Helen Gassaway; five brothers, Otis Bishop, Meade Bishop, Marchel Bishop, Romie Bishop and Mitchel Bishop.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 22, 2007, at the Glasgow Municipal cemetery, with Bro. Mike Padgett officiating. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to a favorite charity.
