Terry G. Flowers, 54, Glasgow, died Tuesday, November 14, 2006, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. He was a son of the late Duetta Pickett and Hubert Dennie Flowers. He was formerly a carpenter for Charles Hale Construction.
Survivors include one son, Terry G. Flowers, Jr.; one daughter, Melissa Lutterman; two brothers, Dallas Flowers and James Flowers; one sister, Geraldine Glass and her husband, Larry, all of Glasgow; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, David, Danny, Jerry and Dennie Ray Flowers; and three sisters, Delores Harper, Duetta Joyce Flowers and Ellen Mae Flowers.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 16, 2006, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
W. A. Herald
May 25, 1939 - February 21, 2002
W. A. Herald, 62, Glasgow, died Thursday, February 21, 2002, at his residence on Finney Road. Born in Edmonson County, he was the son of the late Willie and Mary Herald, a retired truck driver and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Sue Wheat Herald; one son, William Alan Herald of Frankfort; one sister, Laura Sanders of Brownsville; one brother, James “Sy” Herald of Sweeden, KY; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Otis Herald, Reuben Herald and Amon Herald.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hospice of Southern Kentucky, Inc.
John Edmunds
September 8, 1923 - October 15, 2005
John Ellis Edmunds, 82, Beckton, died Saturday, October 15, 2005, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. Born in Barren County September 8, 1923, he was a son of the late Lenord M. and Maud Emerson Edmunds.
He was a member and Elder of the Beckton Church of Christ, a United States Army Veteran of WWII and a retired farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Naomi Davis Edmunds; one son, Danny Joe Edmunds; one brother, Thomas Edmunds all of Glasgow; brothers- in- law and sisters- in- law, Cecil Buckingham of Alvaton, Erbie Garrett of Hodgenville, Virginia Edmunds, Margaret Edmunds, Melba and Kenneth Humphrey all of Glasgow, Wendell and Carol Davis of Indianapolis, Sue Gray of Campbellsville, Betty and Billy Wright of Beckton; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Lesia Kaye Edmunds; four brothers, Walter (Bub), Charles, Judson and Henry Donald Edmunds; four sisters, Byrd Atkinson, Flora Mae Edmunds, Ada Mildred Buckingham and Betsy Jean Garrett.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 17, 2005, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Ruth Emmitt
October 6, 1940 - October 21, 2003
Ruth Ann Emmitt, 63, Glasgow, died Tuesday at the Medical Center at Bowling Green . A daughter of the late John and Vera Hurt Woodcock, she was an employee of ACK Controls in Glasgow .
Survivors include her husband, Gilbert; one son, Mike Emmitt and his wife, Sherry; one daughter, Sharon Conatser and her husband, Bob, all of Glasgow; five grandchildren, Brandon Logsdon, Jonathan Emmitt, Trenton Conatser, Jordan Emmitt and Emily Conatser; two sisters, Evelyn Perkins of Glasgow, and Jean Bunch of Columbus, IN; two brothers, Billy Woodcock and Phillip Woodcock both of Columbus; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jeanette Brummett and a brother, Jack Woodcock.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery . Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Steve A. Forrest
February 28, 1951 - November 23, 2003
Steve A. Forrest, Glasgow, died Sunday, November 23, 2003, at his residence. A native of Barren County, he was the son of Violet Copas Forrest of Glasgow and the late Lyron Forrest. He was an installer for ALLTEL, a member of the Baptist faith and a United States Navy veteran.
Other survivors include his wife, Betty; one daughter, Lori Steger and her husband, Robert, of Glasgow ; one granddaughter, Mandy Steger; one sister, Brenda Owen and her husband, Gene, of Glasgow ; one niece, Kim Landrum and her husband, Bobby, of Glasgow .
Funeral services will be private. Burial will be in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens . Arrangements are under the direction of the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.
Willie Jo Garmon
Willie J. Garmon, 74, Hiseville, died Saturday in Glasgow. A daughter of the late Jessie and Nettie Pardue Byrd, she was a homemaker and widow of the late Charlie Garmon.
Survivors include three daughters, Carol J. Logsdon and husband, Herbert, of Hiseville, Peggy Moore and husband, Mike, of Campbellsville, Margie Russell and husband, Glen, of Russell Springs; seven sons, Maxie Garmon and wife, Brenda, of Hiseville, Ronnie Garmon and wife, Barbara, of Coral Hill, Michael Garmon and wife, Lisa, of Hiseville, Dennis Garmon and friend, Michelle, of Edmonton, B.J. Garmon and friend, Charlotte, of Burkesville, David Garmon and wife, Lora, and Gary Garmon all of Glasgow; one sister, Katherine Key of Bowling Green; two brothers, Maxie Byrd and James L. Byrd of Louisville; 24 grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Sue Clay Hardison
August 15, 1934 - August 16, 2001
Sue Clay Hardison, 67, Glasgow, died Thursday August 16, 2001 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. The Barren County native was the daughter of the late Bernice Foster Clay and David Clay, Sr., a homemaker and a member of the Glasgow Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband Jerry Hardison of Glasgow; one daughter, Deborah Birge and her husband, Ronnie of Glasgow; two grandchildren, Jonathan and Brandon Birge of Glasgow; one brother, David Clay and his wife, Lillian of Glasgow; her mother- in- law, Essie Hardison of Greenville, Ky.; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with entombment in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Friends may call after 9:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Lola D. Gillentine
June 21, 1919 - April 13, 2008
Lola D. (Goodpasture) Gillentine, 88, Glasgow, died Sunday, April 13, 2008, at the Barren County Health Care Center. She was the daughter of the late John and Dora Allred Goodpasture of Livingston, TN, a homemaker and a member of the East Main Street Church of Christ in Glasgow.
She is survived by four sons, John (Janice) Gillentine of Louisville, James (LeeAnn) Gillentine, Charles (Kathy) Gillentine and Robert (Brenda) Gillentine all of Glasgow. Twelve grandchildren and several great- grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Gillentine; two sons, Kenneth and Carl Gillentine of Glasgow; two granddaughters, Stacie and Kathy Gillentine.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at the Flat Creek cemetery near Livingston, TN. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.
Eldora Harlow
October 17, 1912 - February 18, 2007
Eldora Harlow, 94, of Glasgow died Sunday, February 18, 2007 at the Barren County Health Care Center. She was the daughter of the late Tommy H. Harlow and Ova Mae Green Harlow. She was a member of the Bethel Homemakers Club and a member of the Siloam Baptist Church.
She is survived by one sister: Emogene Kidd of Louisville, Kentucky and one brother: Garland Harlow of Elizabethtown, KY. Two nephews and four nieces.
Funeral will be 11:00 A. M. Tuesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with Bro. C. G. Morrison officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home after 3:00 P.M. Monday. Burial will be in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery.
Beulah Birge Houchens
October 29, 1913 - May 7, 2002
Beulah Birge Houchens, 88, of Poland, IN formerly of Mt. Herman died Tuesday, May 7, 2002 at the Cloverdale Convalescent Center in Cloverdale, IN. She was the daughter of the late J. Hack Birge and Lena Kingery Birge. She was an avid quilt maker and a member of the Poplar Log Church of Christ.
She is survived by two sons: Boyd Gramlin and his wife Lois of Poland, IN and Dale Smith and his wife Sally of Phoenix AZ; one daughter- in- law: Lillie Gramlin of Indianapolis, IN; one brother: Roy Birge of Sulfur Lick, KY; Several grandchildren and several great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands: Hershel Gramlin, Roger Smith, Luther Gregory and Wilton Houchens and one son Eddie Gramlin.
Funeral will be 10:00 A.M. Friday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the White cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
Russell Hellard
February 1, 1919 - May 6, 2008
Russell Hellard, 89, Lucas, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, in Glasgow. A native of Jackson County, KY, he was the son of the late Bradley and Betty Angel Hellard. He was a retired maintenance worker for International Tool Company in Dayton, OH. He served in the CCC during WWII and was a member of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include his wife, Burnis; three children, Linda Marie Salyer (Billy) of Miamisburg, OH, Phillip Wayne Hellard (Linda) of Gallatin, TN, and Brenda Louise Helton (Joseph) of Hillsboro, OH; 8 grandchildren, Russell Hisle, Randall Salyer, Ronald Salyer, Kelly Jackson, Rebecca Russell, Wendy Pedigo, Bobbie Jo Murrell and Charles Helton; one sister, Myrtle Bond of Miamisburg; very special friend, caretaker and former daughter- in- law, Karen Hellard of Glasgow; 11 great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Marvin Hellard.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 9, 2008, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Dorothy Lillian Houchen, 88, of Glasgow died Monday, September 20, 2004 at the Hart County Health Care Center.
She is survived by two sons: Larry Houchens and his wife Zona of Glasgow and Joe Houchens and his wife Gladys of Glasgow; one daughter Mary Ann Hogue of Shepardsville, KY; eleven grandchildren and eighteen great- grandchildren.
