Florence Irene Grinstead, 91 of Glasgow, born, August 19, 1912 died Saturday, October 18, 2003 at NHC of Glasgow. She was the daughter of the late James William Vance and Mattie Gertie Smith Vance. She was married
December 24, 1932 to Virgil T. Grinstead who preceded her in death January 31, 1995.
She is survived by six children: Dorris Polson and her husband Stanley of Glasgow, Joyce Estep and her husband E. G. of Louisville, Genene Parker and her husband George of Sikeston, MO., Jerry Grinstead of Glasgow, Judy Waller and her husband David of Smiths Grove, Jo Poynter of Glasgow; eight grandchildren: Kevin Polson, Michael Estep, Kelley Miller, Eric Poynter, John David Waller, Kris Parker, Todd Poynter and Lacey Waller; one brother: George Vance and his wife Paulette of Glasgow; one sister: June Bacon and her husband Joe M. of Temple Hill; seven great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter: Jaclyn Waller, two brothers: Veachel and Cecil Vance.
Funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
Ewing Lawrence Eudy
March 12, 1926 - August 16, 2003
Ewing Lawrence Eudy, 77, Glasgow, died Saturday at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. A native of Barren County, he was a son of the late James Henry and Lou Etta Pardue Eudy and a retired employee of Farm Services in Glasgow.
Survivors include one son, Albert Eudy and his wife, Darlene, of Cave City; one daughter, Ann Hinkle and her husband, Conrad, of Texas; four grandchildren, Scotty Eudy, Christine Roarx, Shelly Baggett and James Hinkle; seven great- grandchildren; one brother, L. P. Eudy of Glasgow; one sister, Murel Bailey; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Simmons Eudy.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Tempest England
December 24, 1927 - May 7, 2009
Tempest Estes England, 81, of Glasgow, died Thursday, May 07, 2009 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Moat and Grace Compton Estes. She was a retired LPN. She worked at Howard Clinic from the mid 1950’s until its closing, at which time she became an avid volunteer with the Ladies Auxillary at T. J. Samson Community Hospital.
Survivors include one son, Gary Blaine England and his wife, Kathleen W. England of Glasgow; three grandsons, Jarred Blaine England, Dylan Edwin England and Gary Alexander England; her sister- in- law, Sheila Estes; one nephew, Steve Estes; one niece, Glenda Harris; three great- nieces; one great- nephew; one great- great niece.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 2009, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Visitation will be after 12 noon Saturday at the funeral home.
Ethel Gray
November 23, 1913 - December 9, 2005
Ethel Wilson Gray, 92, Glasgow, died Friday, December 09, 2005, at the NHC Health Care Center. A native of Barren County, she was a daughter of the late Willie C. and Sallie Tinnell Wilson. She worked many years as a seamstress, was a former employee of Handmacher Fashions, a retired employee of the Kentucky Park System and a member of the Glasgow Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Wanda Witty of Glasgow; one son, Marshall Gray and wife, Lucy, of Austin; ten grandchildren, Peggy Cole and husband, Glenn, of Gainesville, FL, Marcia Eastin and husband, Mark, of Madisonville, David Witty and wife, Patsye, Marita Lile and husband, Jeff, all of Glasgow, Lisa Travis and husband, Scott, of Dublin, OH, Jennie Dunn and husband, Jeff, of Voorhees, NJ, Patrick Witty of New York City, Mark Gray and wife Debra, of Corbin, Todd Gray and wife Donna, of Austin, Jeffrey Gray and wife Tammy of Glasgow; two sisters, Elizabeth Turner and husband, Mitchell, and Jean Wilson all of Glasgow; two sisters- in- law, Ruth Wilson of Texas and Marie Wilson of Park City; 18 great- grandchildren; 5 great- great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Godfrey Gray; a son- in- law, Hascal Witty; six brothers, Felix Wilson (Corinne), Reed Wilson (Mary), Morris Wilson (Della), Luther Wilson, James Wilson and Bill Wilson; two sisters, Fannie Humphrey and Jeanette Hale (John).
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 11, 2005, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Friends may call after 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Donald Edward Gardner, Sr.
April 9, 1934 - May 21, 2008
Donald Edward Gardner, Sr., 74, Horse Cave, died Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at his residence. A native of Clinton, IL, he was a son of the late Florence Amanda Potts and Sidney Clinton Gardner. He was a retired retailer.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Robertson Gardner; three children, Donna Jean Borden, Melanie Lisa Carpenter and Donald Edward Gardner, Jr.; one sister, Barbara Ann Laymon; seven grandchildren; six great- grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2008, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the American Cancer Society.
William "Bill" Allen Hiser
August 20, 1928 - February 16, 2005
William “Bill” Allen Hiser, 76, of Glasgow, died Wednesday, February 16, 2005 at the Barren County Health Care Center. He was the son of the late Perry C. Hiser and Corena Compton Hiser.
He is survived by his wife: Joyce Hiser; three sons: Roger Allen Hiser and his wife Sue, Michael Earl Hiser and William Wayne Hiser all of Louisville; two daughters: Shelia Ciailante and her husband Tony and Sharon Edmondson and her husband Dennis both of Louisville; one sister Aline Ferguson of Louisville; one brother Sherman Eugene Hiser of Bowling Green; fifteen grandchildren and fourteen great- grandchildren.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a foster daughter Debra Cole, a infant son, four sisters: Blanch Ballard, Christine Ballard, Ruth England and Dorothy Hiser, four brothers: Otis Hiser, Johnny Hiser, Clifton Hiser and Harry Roy Hiser.
Funeral will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiser Family cemetery. Visitation will be after 12 Noon Friday at the funeral home.
Emma Alice Hamilton

Emma Alice Hamilton, 81, Glasgow, died Tuesday, February 1, 2005, at the NHC Nursing Facility. A daughter of the late Henry Minnis and Emmer Piper Williams, she was a retired nurse and a member of the Coral Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Ronald Eugene Pace and wife Kathy of Colorado; one daughter, Tonya Lois Taylor of Glasgow; one sister, Edna Tobin and husband John Lee of Glasgow; three grandchildren: Shannon Pace, David Pace and Alexander Taylor; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Flavie Pace and Thomas Donald Hamilton; three brothers: John C., Ralph and Roger Paul Williams; three sisters: Pearl Jones, Alien Pace and Cynthia Compton.

Lydia R. Frazier

Lydia R. Frazier, 85, Glasgow, died Monday, December 19, 2005, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. A native of Barren County, she was a daughter of the late L. A. and Ruth Foster Poynter. She was a homemaker and a member of the South Green Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons, Terry Frazier and his wife, Joanna, of Elizabethtown, and James Wendell Frazier and his wife, Brenda, of Glasgow; one daughter, Jo Karen Pace of Nashville; 5 grandchildren, Melanie Bruton of High Point, NC, Leslie Claiborne of Fairview, TN, Tara Jo Nash of Glasgow, Brandon Pace of Brooklyn, NY, and Jamie Frazier of Glasgow; one brother, Tommy Poynter; one sister, Betty Lou Hurt; 6 great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell Frazier; one brother, Alvin Poynter; one sister, Earlene Whitlow.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2005, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Visitation will be after 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society.
Jerry A. Doyel
Jerry A. Doyel, 38, Glasgow, died Thursday, October 28, 2004, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. A native of Glasgow, he was the son of W.T. Doyel of Glasgow and the late Lula Bell Minyard Doyel. He was a United States Marine and served in Operation Desert Shield.
Along with his father, he is survived by one son, Shane T. Michael Doyel of Brownsville; one sister, Terri Lou Royse and her husband, Henry, of Glasgow; one nephew, Wes Royse, and one niece, Cara Lu Royse, both of Glasgow; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 31, 2004, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Robert Hogue
October 31, 1914 - December 14, 2003
Robert Eldon Hogue, Sr., 89, Taylor Street, Glasgow, died Sunday, December 14, 2003, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital . A native of Barren County, he was a son of the late Claude and Minnie Dossey Hogue. He had been self- employed for 62 years at Hogue Auto Service in Glasgow . He was a member of the Glasgow Baptist Church ; a 50 year member of the Allen Lodge # 24 F. & A.M.; York Rite Bodies; Order of the Eastern Star # 257; Kosair Shrine and a veteran of WW II.
Survivors include his wife, Mae D. Hogue; one daughter, Elda Mae Simpson and her husband, David, of Homewood, IL; a daughter- in- law, Faye Kinslow and her husband, Steve, of Glasgow; five grandchildren, Robert Hogue, III and his wife, Jennifer, Amanda Simmons and her husband, Jason, all of Glasgow, Martha Mack and her husband, Joey, of Livingston, LA, Brian Simpson and Eric Simpson of California; five great- grandchildren, Katelyn and Dylan Simmons, Jamie and Allison Hogue and Dristan Mack; two sisters- in- law, Thelma Hogue of California and Wilma Hogue of Glasgow; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Bob Hogue and three brothers, Paul Hogue, Hubert Hogue and Rumsey Hogue.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens with, military honors provided by Glasgow Chapter 20 DAV. Visitation will be after 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Allen Lodge # 24 invites the public to join them for Masonic services at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Jack W. Garner
Jack W. Garner, 70, died Tuesday, June 28, 2005, at the Morgantown Care and Rehabilitation Center. A native of Barren County, he was the son of the late Taylor and Ester Gramlin Garner. He was a retired employee of the Reynolds Wrecker Service in Bowling Green.
Survivors include one son, Jack W. Garner, Jr. and his wife, Beth, of Elizabethtown; one daughter, Terrie Garner of Louisville; three sisters, Annie Page of Glasgow, Judy Compton and her husband, David, of Hiseville, Rebecca Wooten and her husband, Mike, of Glasgow; two brothers, Joe Garner and his wife, Barbara, of Tennessee, and Richard Garner of Michigan; three grandchildren; one great- grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Howard Garner; three brothers, Robert Garner, Earl Garner and Paul Garner; three grandchildren.
