Charles A. Goodman, Jr.
September 16, 1910 - May 18, 2001
Charles Austin Goodman, Jr., 90, Glasgow, died Friday at his residence. Born September 16, 1910 in Glasgow, he was a son of the late Clara Franklin and Charles Austin Goodman, Sr. He graduated from Glasgow High School and later attended the University of Kentucky. He was owner and operator of Crown Laundry and Cleaners in Glasgow, a former member of the Glasgow City Council and a veteran of WW II.
Survivors include two sons, Dr. Robert Porter Goodman of Lexington and Charles Logan Goodman of Glasgow; four grandchildren, Mrs. Samuel House (Marilee) Varner, Anne Goodman O’Connor and Robert Porter Goodman, Jr. all of Lexington, and Charles Austin Goodman, IV of Glasgow; four great- grandchildren, William Goodman Varner, Robert Porter Goodman, III, Anne Alexander Varner and Elizabeth Day Varner; two brothers, Robert F. Goodman of Glasgow and Julian Goodman of New York.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at the First Presbyterian Church with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Friends may call from 2- 6 p.m. Sunday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Sarah Porter Goodman Fund for Mission Support at the First Presbyterian Church, 200 East Washington Street, Glasgow, KY 42141.
Sam Harper
February 20, 1927 - March 31, 2006
Samuel J. Harper, 79, Glasgow, died Friday, March 31, 2006, at the NHC Health Care Center. A son of the late Clem and Connie Harper, he was a retired supervisor at Glasgow Street Department and a part- time employee of the Glasgow Landfill.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Ann Renfro Harper; one daughter, Darlene Eudy and husband, Albert, of Cave City; two sons, Mark Fisher of Port Orange, FL, and Joey Fisher of Glasgow; six grandchildren, Scotty Eudy, Jason Fisher, Chad Fisher, Luke Fisher, Christina Vanmeter and Felicia Fisher; six great- grandchildren, Jeremiah Eudy, Quinton Eudy, Allijah Eudy, Natalie Toohey, Parker Lee Roarx and Kayleigh Grace Vanmeter; one sister, Blanche Bragg of Glasgow; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Katie Deckard and Cora Sexton.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 2, 2006, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Pleasant Grove cemetery. Friends may call after 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Coral Hill Church of God Building Fund.
Russell F. Hale
November 6, 1924 - August 21, 2004
Russell F. Hale, 79, of Glasgow died Saturday, August 21, 2004 at the Cal Turner Extended Care Pavilion. He was the son of the late Fred Hale and Libby Post Hale. He was a retried lineman after 43 years from Farmers Rural Electric.
Survivors include his wife Dell Settles Hale; three sons: Russell H. Hale and his wife Yolanda of Louisville, Jerry D. Hale and his wife Jenise of Louisville and Grover Hale and his wife Micah of Glasgow; three daughters: Barbara Holder and her husband David of Austin, Doris Adwell and her husband Larry of Austin and Nancy Smith and her husband Dale of Elizabethtown; seventeen grandchildren and twelve great- grandchildren.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother; Charles Hale and two sisters: Clair Compton and Lorene Syree.
Funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery . Visitation will be after 11:00 A. M. Monday at the funeral home.
Veachel Hunter
January 27, 1920 - May 21, 2008
Veachel Hunter, 88, Cave City, died Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at the Caverna Memorial Hospital. A son of the late Manie Doyel and Roy T. Hunter, he was a retired farmer. He was an army veteran of WWII and a recipient of the Purple Heart with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster. He was a member of the Little Hope Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Garry Hunter of Cave City; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Maude Parsley Hunter, and two sisters, Lucille Coats and Luzena Skaggs Taylor.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2008, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Cave City cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Rena Ann Garrett
October 19, 1907 - March 14, 2004
Rena Ann Garrett, 96, Glasgow , died Sunday, March 14, 2004 , at the NHC Health Care Center. A native of Barren County , she was a daughter of the late Ellis and Bessie Garmon Fudge and a homemaker.
Survivors include one daughter, Marcella Morrison and her husband, C. G., of Temple Hill; two grandchildren, Phillip Morrison and his wife, Rena’, of Brentwood, TN, and Keith Morrison and his wife, Stacey, of Bowling Green; five great- grandchildren, Justin, Allie, Lauren, Ben and Carrie Morrison; two sisters, Berthal Edwards of Jeffersonville, IN and Dorothy Williams of Texas.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elvin Garrett; five brothers, Fred, Flava, Tim, Franklin and Hershel Fudge; two sisters, Bernice Garrett and Earnice Garrett.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Poplar Log cemetery. Friends may call after 8:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Robert Erwin
July 3, 1919 - August 14, 2001
Robert Erwin age 82 of Tremble Ave, Glasgow, died Tuesday at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. He was a retired farmer and retired from Glasgow Foods. He was the son of the late Jeff and Ella Hamilton Erwin.
He is survived by his wife Mamie Erwin. One Daughter: Barbara Erwin of Glasgow. Two Grandchildren: Rebecca Simmons and Sarah Erwin both of Glasgow. Two Great Grandchildren: Jason Simmons and Julie Simmons both of Glasgow. Three Great Great Grandchildren: Dylan Simmons, Isaiah Johnson and Katelyn Simmons all of Glasgow.
Funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Friday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Smith Family cemetery near Coral Hill. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5:00 P.M. Thursday.
Kenneth Doyle Gillentine
Kenneth Doyle Gillentine, 64 of the Oil City Road, Glasgow, died Tuesday, January 13, 2004 at this residence. He is the son of Lola Delphia Goodpasture Gillentine and the late John D. Gillentine.
Besides his mother he is survived by his wife: Violet Kerney Gillentine; two sons: Jeff Gillentine and his fiancée Amy Thrasher, Danny Gillentine and his wife Michelle; one granddaughter: Madison Nicole Gillentine; four brothers: James Gillentine and his wife Lee Ann, Charles Gillentine and his wife Cathy, Robert Gillentine and his wife Brenda all of Glasgow and John E. Gillentine and his wife Janice of Louisville; several nieces and nephews also survive. Besides his father he was preceded in death by his daughter Kathy Kay and one brother Carl Gillentine.
Funeral will be 11:00 A. M. Friday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Visitation will be after 10:00 A. M. Thursday at the funeral home.
James Robert Hurt
May 30, 1932 - November 11, 2002
James Robert Hurt, 70, of Hiseville died Monday, November 11, 2002 at his residence. He was the son of Stella Christie Hurt and the late Tarry Hurt. He was an antique dealer and a seller of fresh produce on Columbia Avenue.
Along with his mother he is survived by his wife Dean Rich Hurt; one son: Wayne Hurt and his wife Marti of Big Meadow; one daughter: Diane White and her husband Jimmy of Glasgow; one brother: Kenneth Hurt of Hiseville; one sister: Margaret Hurt of Glasgow; three grandchildren: James Russell White, Jess White and Leah White; two step- grandchildren: Matthew Hurt and Amie Hurt; six step- great- grandchildren: Miranda Hurt, Tristan Hurt, Jarred Hurt, Riley Hurt, Chandler Hutten and Maggie Hutten.

Linnie Mae Fields, 71, Glasgow, died Friday, June 27, 2008, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. A daughter of the late Flora Harp and William Saltsman, she was an in- home child care giver and a member of the Grider Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Billy Fields; four children, Billy Wayne Fields and wife, Sue, of Lafayette, GA, Gary Fields and wife, Sheila, and Sandy Saltsman and husband, Tim, all of Hiseville, Lana Lile and husband, Jeff, of Glasgow; eight grandchildren, Heather Key (Eric), Penny Johnson (Shawn), Addison Fields, Angie Rush (Rex Robin), Ashleigh Bennett (Anthony), Alicia Woosley (David), Nick Fields (Lori) and Selena Lile; four great- grandchildren, Allison Key, Ellery Johnson, Kennady Rush and Shallen Fields; four sisters, Callie Jeffries, Stella Gooden, Dorine Reece and Mona Pierce; five brothers, Herman Saltsman, Hayden Saltsman, George Saltsman, Roscoe Saltsman and William Saltsman, Jr.; a special friend, Peggy Hopkins; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Adrianne Lile; three brothers, Coy Saltsman, Roy Saltsman and Sherman Saltsman; one sister, Sylvia Saltsman.

Shirley Jean Edwards, 59, Hiseville, KY died Sunday, July 23, 2006. She was the daughter of Rosetta Conrad Turner and the late Virgil Turner.
Besides her mother she is survived by her husband Jimmie Lee Edwards; three daughters: Rhonda Hawkins and her husband Jr. of Knob Lick, Becky Bailey and her husband Gary of Edmonton and Carol Ann Edwards of New Albany, IN; seven grandchildren: Angel Hall, Billy Joe Hall, Casey Hall, Amber Janes, Bobby Hawkins, Brandi Bailey and Brittany Bailey.

Duetta Joyce Flowers

Duetta Joyce Flowers, 49, Glasgow died Sunday, February 24, 2002, at the Rosewood Health Care Center in Bowling Green. A daughter of the late Hubert and Duetta Pickett Flowers, she was a sitter for the elderly.
Survivors include two daughters, Sarah Moore, and her husband, Wayne, and Allyson Pruitt, and her husband, Chris, all of Glasgow; four grandchildren, Selena Moore, Caitlin Moore, Terri Jo Davis and Braxton Pruitt; four brothers, Dallas Flowers, James Flowers, and his wife, B.J., Terry Flowers, and his wife, Connie, and Denny Ray Flowers all of Glasgow; two sisters: Ella Mae Flowers and Geraldine Glass, and her husband, Larry, all of Glasgow; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, David Flowers, Danny Flowers and Jerry Flowers and one sister, Delores Harper.
