James Bragg

James Edward Bragg, 42, Edmonton, died Monday, March 20, 2006, at his residence. He was a former employee of Columbia Tire and Recapping and a member of the Prices Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother, Geneva Bragg of Glasgow; his father and step-mother, Carlos and Dolly Bragg of Milltown; two brothers, Paul Bragg and wife, Connie, and Roger Bragg and wife, Brenda, all of Glasgow; two sisters, Phyllis Reed and husband, Charles, and Rose Burris and husband, David, all of Glasgow; two step brothers: Jackie Morgan and Michael Morgan; six step-sisters: Patricia Keith, Jane Potts, Tammy Ferguson, Lisa Thomas and Donetta Chrisman; two nieces, Laura Beth McClellan and husband, Matt, and Brittany Bragg, of Glasgow; one nephew, Matthew Bragg of Glasgow.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 23, 2006, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, with Bro. Terry Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Friends may call after 5:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
James L. Bragg, Sr.
James Leonard Bragg, 59, of Glasgow died Friday, June 08, 2001 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville. He was the son of the late William Victor Bragg and Vertie Gosser Bragg. He was a pharmacy technician at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital for 29 years. He was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church.
He is survived by one son: James Lee Bragg, Jr. and his wife Bonnie of Glasgow. Two grandchildren: James Aaron Bragg and Corey Bragg of Glasgow. One brother: Herbert Bragg of Bellingham, Washington; Two sisters: Betty Poynter and Ruby Scott of Columbus, IN. Several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Aunt Mattie Poland and Uncle Turner Poland. Also ten brothers and sisters: Johnny, Albert Lee, Russell, Herman, Kenneth, Mary, Juanita, Jean, Kitty and Opel.
Funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the New Liberty cemetery in Metcalfe County. Friends may call after 2:00 P. M. Saturday at the funeral home.
John S. Brand
June 26, 1922 - March 4, 2008
John S. Brand, 85, of Glasgow, died Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at NHC Healthcare. He was a retired Research Psychologist and Training Evaluator for the U. S. Army Solder Support Center at Fort Harrison, in Indianapolis, Indiana where he worked from 1959 to 1994. Mr. Brand was a veteran of the army who served in WWII, in Europe and the Philippines. Mr. Brand graduated from the University of North Carolina and received his masters in Psychology from George Washington University in Washington D. C.
Survivors include his daughter: Christina Bonnewell and her husband Mark of Glasgow; one grandson: John Paul Bonnewell; one brother: Dr. Eugene Brand of Wicomico Church, Virginia; two step grandchildren: Erica Gary and Ella Bonnewell; Five great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. Saturday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at later date in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Oma Jo Brand
August 11, 1923 - September 04, 2006
Oma Jo Sprouse Brand, 83, Indianapolis, Indiana, died Monday, September 4, 2006, in Glasgow, Kentucky. Born August 11, 1923, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Cecil Bryan Sprouse. She was a homemaker and member of the Fairview Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis.
Survivors include her husband, John S. Brand; a daughter, Christina Bonnewell; one grandson, John Paul Bonnewell; step grandchildren, Erica Gary and Ella Bonnewell; step great grandchildren, Dakkota Gary, Montana Gary, Jacob Bonnewell and Brooklyn Poynter.
The family chose cremation. A memorial service will be held at the Fairview Presbyterian Church 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 9, 2006, with a family reception to follow at the church. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Fairview Presbyterian Church, 4609 N. Capital, Indianapolis, IN 46208. Thelma Branham
January 24, 1915 - March 21, 2007
Thelma Bush Branham, 92, Austin, died Wednesday, March 21, 2007, at the Glenview Health Care Center. The daughter of the late Gilliam and Lottie Payne Bush, she was a retired teacher in the Barren County School System, having taught for 33 years, most of which was at Austin-Tracy School.
Survivors include two sons, Wayne Branham (Donna) of Glasgow, and Larry Branham (Kathy) of Frankfort; one daughter, Anita Branham of Bowling Green; eight grandchildren, Kevin Branham (Anita) of Auburn, Gary Branham (Laura) and Mark Branham (Angela) all of Shepherdsville, Lennea Wooten (Tony) and Leslie Branham all of Glasgow, Stacy Kupchella (Jason) of Bowling Green, Tara Branham of Portland, OR, and Sarah Lawrence of Seattle; one brother, Dennis Reid Bush (Nancy) of Glasgow; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Branham; four brothers, Ted Bush, Wilton Bush, G.P. “Bae” Bush and Glenn Bush.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2007, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Elvin "Buddy" Bridges
September 7, 1921 - April 28, 2002
Elvin (Buddy) Clifford Bridges, 80, of Railton, KY died Sunday, April 28 at the Britthaven Nursing Home in Bowling Green. He was the son of the late William C. Bridges and Rosa Wood Bridges. He was of the Baptist Faith a veteran of WWII and a member of the Hays Masonic Lodge #517.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years: Dorothy Cole Bridges; two daughters: Kathy Elmore and her husband Tommy of Finney and Melanie Wright and her husband Chris of Smiths Grove; one granddaughter: Lindy Elmore; five brothers: Leathel Bridges and his wife Edith of Smiths Grove, Frankie Bridges of Smiths Grove, Harold Bridges and his wife Peggy of Park City, Ed Bridges and his wife Anna Rose of Louisville and Curtis Bridges and his wife Arlene of Indianapolis, IN; one sister: Louise Neagle and her husband Ernest of Portland, TN; one sister-in-law; Phyllis Bridges of Indianapolis, IN. He was preceded in death by one brother: Homer Bridges.

Tony Gilbert Birge, 40, of Glasgow, died Saturday, September 07, 2002 at his residence. He is the son of Dorothy Crumpton Birge and the late Gilbert Birge.
He is survived by his wife: Julie Tracy Birge and two daughters: Brandi and Briana.
Funeral will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the White cemetery in Monroe County. Visitation will be after 2:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
Debra Briedwell
August 24, 1960 - November 17, 2007
Debra B. Briedwell, 47, Park City, died Saturday, November 17, 2007, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. A native of Bell County, KY, she was assistant manager at Wal-Mart in Glasgow.
Survivors include her husband, Jim; one daughter, Brooke Watson of Speedwell, TN; her mother, Trula Davis Barnett of Ewing, VA; her father, Cody Barnett of Bean Station, TN; one sister, Rhonda Bailey of Ewing; two brothers, Nick Barnett and Chris Barnett both of Harrogate, TN; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, November 19, 2007, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home in Glasgow and from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, at the Creech Funeral Home in Middlesboro, KY with graveside services to immediately follow at the Bailey cemetery in Ewing, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
Charles A. Britt
February 7, 1947 - September 25, 2005
Charles A. Britt, 58, Glasgow, died Sunday, September 25, 2005, at his residence. The son of the late Worthy and Zenda Lynn Britt, he was Customer Service Supervisor at R. R. Donnelley & Sons in Glasgow, a member of the Glasgow Baptist Church and an avid fan of Glasgow Scottie Football.
Survivors include several cousins, including Hazel Fisher and husband, Bob, of Sierra Vista, AZ, Robert E. Hudson and wife, Jeanie, and Ann Ketchman and husband, George, all of Petoskey, MI, Carrie Slaughter and husband, Roma, of Smiths Grove, Sharon Simpson and husband, Ron, of Corydon, IN, Andy Lynn and wife, Estelle, of Lafayette, IN, Jim Huddleston and wife of Douglas, AZ, Terry Lynn and wife of Richmond, VA; and numerous friends.

Dr. N. Wilson Britt
January 3, 1913 - May 17, 2001
Dr. N. Wilson Britt, Louisville, died Thursday at Norton’s Hospital in Louisville. A native of the Lucas community of Barren County, he was a son of the late Noah and Rebecca Carver Britt.
Dr. Britt was an educator. After graduating from Bowling Green College, he taught in the Barren County School System and served as principal of Cave City High School. He later received his doctorate from Ohio State University, where he remained and held the position of Professor of Entomology and Limnology. He was a veteran of WW II, having served with the Army Air Force, stationed in England, and was a member of the Peters Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include one sister, Tressie Ree Hatcher of Glasgow; one brother, Edwin Britt of Portland, TN., one nephew, J. Carroll Hatcher of Louisville; one niece, Mary Lloyd Thomas and her husband, L.C. of Venice, Florida. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Katherine Farris Britt.

Mattie Britt
November 26, 1909 - September 27, 2004
Mattie Britt, 94, Glasgow, died Monday, September 27, 2004, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital . A native of Metcalfe County, she was a daughter of the late John William Barrix and Mary Elizabeth Ray Barrix. She was a homemaker, a retired housekeeper at several homes in Glasgow and a former employee of the Glasgow Golf & Country Club. She was a member of the Old Blue Springs Baptist Church . She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Franklin Britt.
Survivors include two daughters, Maxine Lysle of Louisville, and Ruth Corine Martin and her husband, Cecil, of Glasgow ; two granddaughters, Vanessa Abidoye and her husband, Emmanuel, of Atlanta, and Yolanda Lysle of New Jersey ; one great-grandson, Cecil J. Abidoye; one sister, Lillie Jones of Knob Lick; one niece, Mary Lee Williams of Bowling Green; several great-nieces, nephews and friends.

Dorothy Ivone Broady
August 21, 1937 - July 30, 2005
Dorothy Ivone Broady, 67, Glasgow, died Saturday, July 30, 2005, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. A native of Barren County, she was a daughter of the late Wesley and Alma Riley Bowles. She retired from the General Telephone Company after 40 years of service. She was a member of the Independent Telephone Pioneers Association and the First United Methodist Church of Glasgow.
Survivors include one son, Leslie Rennard Broady, Jr. and his wife, Marnie, of Greenville, KY; two grandsons, Ty and Will Broady; two sisters, Charlotte Rigdon and her husband, Jesse Ray, and Ruth Edmunds and her husband, Tom, all of Glasgow; six nieces and nephews, Darlene Lawson, Michael Gibbons, Wesley Stephens, Cheryl Renick, Cherry Martin and Amelia Kiser; local great-nieces and nephews, Kori Renick, Ryan Renick, Olivia Kiser, Riley Kiser, Rodger Lawson and Bradley Lawson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Rennard Broady; one daughter, Jacqueline Broady; two sisters, Lois Gibbons and Dorris Stephens.

Clyde Maynard Brown
September 27, 1925 - October 29, 2004
Clyde Maynard Brown, 79, Glasgow, died Friday, October 29, 2004, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital . A son of the late Shelvy and Delsie Maynard Brown, he was a retired construction worker and truck driver. He was preceded in death by his wife, Della Frances Frazier Brown.
Mr. Brown was a United States Army Veteran during WW II. He served with the 106th Infantry Division. He was captured December 19, 1944, in the Battle of the Bulge and was held a Prisoner of War until he was liberated on April 2, 1945 from Stalag 9B at Bad Orb, Germany . Mr. Brown was a recipient of the Purple Heart and Good Conduct Medal.
Survivors include one daughter, Diana Jones and her husband, William, of Hiseville; two sons, Mike “Doc” Brown of Angleton, TX, and Tony Brown and his wife, Sherry, of Glasgow; eleven grandchildren, Jeff, Doug, Chad, Josh and Adam Jones, Lauren, Jason, Alex, Anthony and Travis Brown and Chris Chapman; four great-grandchildren, Ally, Emmi, Ella Cate and Jagger Jones; one sister, Regina Alexander and her husband, Philip, of Glasgow; several nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 1, 2004, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be provided by Glasgow Chapter 20 DAV. Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Lillian Brown
January 30, 1933 - November 27, 2002
Lillian Batey Brown age 69 of Glasgow died Wednesday at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. She was the daughter of the late Charlie C. and Eva Mae Finn Batey.
She is survived Seven Children: Paula Gail Ballard, Steve Brown and Lisa Pedigo all of Glasgow. William Larry Brown of Edmonton, Patricia Ann Mills of Louisville, James Henry Brown of Coral Hill and Marty Wayne Brown of Cave City. Nineteen Grandchildren and seventeen Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two Children Vicki Carol Vibbert and Russell Eugene Brown.
