Paul E. Durstock, 56, of Florence, died Saturday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was a technician and operator with Tri-State Refrigeration, Cincinnati, and a member of St. Benedict Church, Covington.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Durstock; a son, Paul E. Durstock of Newport; a daughter, Lori Elliott of Florence; his mother, Beatrice Durstock of Burlington; a brother, William Durstock of Independence; a sister, Shirley Thoss of Burlington; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Benedict Church, Covington. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Stith Funeral Home, Florence. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Ft. Wright. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.

Mae Ella Evans, 75, of Cincinnati, formerly of Covington, died Thursday at the Franciscan Hospital, Cincinnati. She was a homemaker. Her husband, John Hall Evans, died in 1984.
Survivors include daughters, Beverly Wallace and Johnnie Pearl Brown, both of Cincinnati; 23 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Jones and Simpson Funeral Home, Covington. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until the time of services Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Mary Smith Memorial Cemetery, Elsemere.

Helen K. Groh, 73, of Dayton, died at 4:10 p.m. Sunday at St. Luke Hospital East, Ft. Thomas. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Bernard Church, Dayton. She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post No. 2899, Dayton, and Dayton Seniors Club. Her husband, Albert Groh, died in 1987.
Survivors include a daughter, Alma Jean Farrell of Dayton; a son, William Groh of Covington; a sister, Margaret Holt of Independence; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

John McElfresh, 69, of Latonia, died at 9 p.m. Saturday at his residence. He was a former owner of Merchants Typewriter Co., Covington, and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Latonia. He also was a Latonia Youth Club softball coach.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice Munson McElfresh; a daughter, Patricia Smith of Latonia; a sister, Mayme Lee Clark of Mt. Sterling; and six grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Trinity United Methodist Church. Mr. McElfresh's body was donated to University of Cincinnati Medical College.

Walter G. Rentschler, 93, of Seymour, Ind., formerly of Ft. Thomas, died at 2:28 p.m. Mon day at Lutheran Community Home in Seymour. He was a retired bookkeeper with Procter & Gamble, Cincinnati, and a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church, Ft. Thomas, where he held several offices. His wife, Edna Virginia Thomson Rentschler, died in 1993.
Survivors include a son, Edwin Walter Rentschler of Winterville, N.C.; a daughter, Margaret Trimpe of Seymour, Ind.; 11 grandchildren and 18 great- grandchildren.

John A. Shellenberger, 75, of Covington, died at 4 a.m. Saturday near Third Street and Philadelphia in Covington of a heart attack. He was a retired employee of General Electric, Cincinnati, and a member of Lions Club of Springdale-Forest Park in Ohio. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include daughters, Gayle Peelman of Fairfield, Ohio, Jill Ackers of Springfield, Va., and Alicia Stanton of Cincinnati; brothers, Charles Shellenberger and Fred Shellenberger, both of Neosho, Mo.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

George Earl Weber, 78, of Southern Pines, N.C., died Sunday at Penick Village in Southern Pines. He was a design engineer and Chief of the Design Branch of Norfolk Division of Corps of Army Engineers. He is a member of the Corps of Engineers Hall of Fame. His wife, India Maxine Efland Weber, preceded him in death.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews including Bob Jones of Alexandria, and Jim Jones and Tom Suter, both of Florence.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Village Chapel, Pinehurst, N.C. Visitation will begin there at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Powell Funeral Home, Southern Pines, N.C., is handling arrangements.

Ruth Janet Wilson, 65, of Highland Heights, died Saturday at St. Luke Hospital East, Ft. Thomas. She was a retired collection manager with Auveco Products, Edgewood.

Bookkeeper Clara Burke, loving aunt
The nephews and nieces of Clara Gehrig Burke had a special friend.
They were showered with Mrs. Burke's affection.
"She kind of doted on her nieces and nephews," said her nephew, the Rev. Donald Hellmann. "She was very kind to us, very generous."
Mrs. Burke spread her caring nature as a volunteer bookkeeper at Madonna Manor, Villa Hills, and the Wendover Group home for disabled people in Covington.
Mrs. Burke, 95, of Covington, died at 7:50 a.m. Thursday at St. Charles Care Center, Ft. Wright.
She was a retired bookkeeper with Crossett Co., Cincinnati, and a member of St. Agnes Church, Ft. Wright. Her husband, William Burke, died in 1963.
Born in Newport, Mrs. Burke spent her entire life in Northern Kentucky.
In her younger years, she worked in needlepoint and made the Rev. Hellmann a chair with a needlepoint top. She also was a bridge player and bowler.
Other survivors include nephews Robert Gehring of Cincinnati, David Busemeyer of Marlboro, Conn.; and nieces Mary Lou Kretschmer of Rockville, Md., Shirley Walsh of Centerville, Ohio, and Mary Ann Huntington of Indianapolis.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Agnes Church, Ft. Wright. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Ft. Wright. Memorials are suggested to St. Agnes Church, 1680 Dixie Highway, Ft. Wright, Ky. 41011.
