Clevie Martin Riley, 88, Shelley Drive, Glasgow, died Saturday at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. She was a retired seamstress at Handmacher Fashions in Glasgow and a member of the South Green Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include one son, Fred Riley and his wife, Judy, of Glasgow; three grandchildren, Nicholas Riley, Jennifer Nuchols and her husband, Randy, and Anne Johnson and her husband, Danny, Jr. all of Glasgow; two great-grandchildren, Bryant and Kelsey Johnson; two sisters, Georgia Johnson and her husband, Howard, of Lebanon, TN and Bea Coleman of Livingston, TN; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Friends may call after 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Shelvie Jean Abston
Shelvie Jean Abston age 59 of the Old Edmonton Road Glasgow died Friday, October 5, 2001, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Ray Rowe and Jewell Reece who survives. She was a Nurse Aid for Med Share and a member of the Sparksville Church of the Nazarene in Adair County.
She is survived by her husband Lloyd. One Son: Timmy Abston of Edmonton. One Daughter: Pam Lucas and her husband Jeffrey of Bowling Green. Her Mother, Jewell Reece of Adair County. Four Grandchildren: Jonathan and Rauyn Abston, Brandon and Shannon Lucas. Two Brothers: Chelsie Rowe and his wife Lillie and Donnie Rowe and his wife, Gail all of Adair County. One Sister: Gladys Walterham of Campbellsville. A Special Friend: Pam Davidson of Edmonton.
Funeral will be 1:00 PM Monday, October 8, 2001, at the Sparksville Church of the Nazarene with burial in the Antioch cemetery in Adair County. Friends may call at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home after 11:00 AM Sunday and after 11:00 AM Monday at the church.

Barlow Akers, 70, West Main Street, Glasgow, died Monday at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. The son of the late Henry and Lela Pearl Thomerson Akers, he was a retired carpenter and a member of the Pleasant Point Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Louvern; one daughter, Brenda Shugart and her husband, Larry of Glasgow; two sons, Stevie Akers and Danny Akers and his wife, Kim all of Glasgow; one sister, Sarah Elizabeth VanDolah of Edmonton; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
