Rolland Lee "Shorty" Mattox, 83, of Madisonville, KY died at 2:05 a.m. Sunday, February 1, 2009 at Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson, KY. The Cincinnati, OH native was a retired farmer of his land in Fountain Run, KY, a World War II Navy veteran, a member of Fountain Run Missionary Baptist Church and former President of The Men’s Brotherhood. He was the son of the late Orison Ornsby Mattox and Camolena Bowers Mattox.
He is survived by his wife: June Mattox, Madisonville, KY;
2 sons: Kenneth Randall Mattox and wife, Carol, Madisonville, KY; Russell Alan Mattox, Bowling Green, KY;
1 daughter: Dorothy Elaine Mattox, Slidell, LA;
1 sister: Ruth Ann Rooks and husband, George, Bethel, OH;
7 grandchildren: Blake Mattox, Markus Mattox, Justin Crooke, Stephanie Kitts, Sharon Williams, Sherri Beth Kirk and Candace Crooke.

"Momma" Hazel I. Cornwell, 89, of Scottsville, Ky died at 7:10 A.M. Saturday, January 31, 2009 at the Medical Center at Bowling Green. The Allen County, Ky native was a homemaker, a private duty nurse and member of Shady Grove General Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late James Warren Cornwell and Arvie Z. Thacker Cornwell and wife of the late Daddy Vivan Cornwell.
She is survived by 2 Sons: James Robert Cornwell and wife, Mary; Ricky Cornwell and wife, Teresa, all of Scottsville, Ky;
