Charles Learner Thompson, 81, of Campbellsville, died Friday, May 18, 2012, at Taylor Regional Hospital after an illness.

He was the son of the late Laura Etta Benningfield and Oliver B. Thompson.

He was married to Mildred Bricken Thompson, who survives.

Survivors also include three daughters, Marcia Milby, Donna Collins, both of Campbellsville, and Janet Eastridge of Ashland, Ky.; and a son, Charles Douglas of Campbellsville.

Pauline C. Daffron, 98

Pauline C. Daffron, 98, of Campbellsville, died at 12:28 p.m. on Monday, May 14, 2012, in Greensburg, Ky.

Daughter of the late Jim Crouch and Minnie Upchurch Crouch, she was born in Wayne County, Ky., on June 29, 1913.

She had professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith.

She married Claude Price Daffron on Dec. 7, 1929. He preceded her in death Sept. 23, 1984.

John K. Durham, 56

John K. Durham, 56, of Greensburg, Ky., died Tuesday, May 15, 2012, in Campbellsville.

He married Trena White Durham of Campbellsville on March 8, 1992. She survives.

Survivors also include his children, Sara Shea Ellis and her husband Buddy and Matt Squires and his wife, Chelsea, all of Greensburg; and Tiffany Squires and Bubby Squires, both of Campbellsville.

Funeral was Thursday, May 17 at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg. Burial was in Greensburg cemetery.

Eunice Roberta Shears, 56

Eunice Roberta Shears, 56, of Collins St. in Campbellsville, died at Taylor Regional Hospital on Friday, May 4, 2012, after an illness.

She was the daughter of the late Beatrice Holt and Elizabeth and Calvin Chaffin.

Survivors include a son, Shondeveron Shears of Bowling Green, Ky., and a daughter, Aiko Shears of Bardstown, Ky.

Funeral was Thursday, May 10, at Pleasant Union Baptist Church. The Rev. Michael Caldwell officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home in Campbellsville was in charge of arrangements.

Norma Jean Willis, 74

Norma Jean Willis, 74, of Lexington, Ky., died Saturday, May 12, 2012, at University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington.

Born Sept. 18, 1937, in Finley, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Orville F. and Mable Elizabeth Colvin Overton.

Willis retired from Smith-Kline and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

Israel Delbert Blair, infant

Israel Delbert Blair, infant son of Andrew and Shannon Russell Blair, died at 6:34 p.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2012, in Lexington, Ky.

He was born at 4:59 p.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2012.

Survivors also include grandparents, Roger and Donna Blair, Richard and Regina Russell and Madonna Russell, all of Campbellsville; great-grandparents, Christine Dix and Montie Blair of Campbellsville; and several aunts and uncles.

Graveside service was Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at Brookside cemetery in Campbellsville. The Rev. Shaun Caudill officiated.

R.T. Janes, 78

R.T. Janes, 78, of Campbellsville, died at 5:15 a.m. on Friday, May 11, 2012, in Louisville.

Son of the late Melvin Janes and Catherine Fisher Janes, he was born in Taylor County on March 15, 1934.

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Christian Church.

He owned and operated Jane's Dairy and Beef and formerly Ashland Broadway in Campbellsville. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served in the United States Army.

He was married to Alla Rae Cundiff on June 26, 1980. She survives.

Jesse Roy Robert McCarol, 75

Jesse Roy Robert McCarol, 75, of Greensburg, Ky., died on Thursday, May 10, 2012, at Taylor Regional Hospital.

He was the son of the late Henry McCarol and Effie Wright McCarol.

He was married to Ola Mae Ward McCarol on Jan. 4, 1965. She survives.

Funeral was Saturday, May 12, at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg. Bros. Jerry Noe and Raymond Atwood officiated. Burial was in Bennett cemetery.

Orbazine Barnett Spear Puryear Faulkner, 91

Orbazine Barnett Spear Puryear Faulkner, 91, of Campbellsville, died Sunday, May 6, 2012, at 3:40 p.m. in Greensburg, Ky.

Daughter of the late James Samuel Barnett and Eliza Jane Williams Barnett, she was born in Taylor County on Oct. 27, 1920.

She had professed a faith in Christ and was a member of Mannsville Christian Church.

Charles Amos "C.A." Goodman, 69

Charles Amos "C.A." Goodman, 69, of Liberty, Ky., died on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at the V.A. Medical Center in Lexington, Ky.

Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Janet and Ed Gorin of Greensburg, Ky., and Melissa Hatcher of Cave City, Ky.

Funeral was Saturday, May 12, at Boiling Springs Baptist Church in Horse Cave, Ky. Winn Funeral Home in Horse Cave was in charge of arrangements. Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg provided local obituary services.

Doris Marie Eads, 57

Doris Marie Eads, 57, of Greensburg, Ky. died Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010, at Norton Suburban Hospital in Louisville, Ky.

She was the daughter of Lena Harmon Dial of Magnolia, Ky. and the late Lucian Dial.

Funeral was Saturday, Oct. 2 at Holly Grove Baptist Church. Burial was in Green County Memory Gardens. Bros. Leslie Jewell and Dannie Nelson officiated.

Juanita Jones Lee, 73

Juanita Jones Lee, 73, of Campbellsville died at 1:15 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010, in Greensburg, Ky.

Daughter of the late Roy Lee Jones and Ida Fay Osborne Jones, she was born in Beckley, W.Va. on June 23, 1937.

She was married to Billy Joe Lee, who preceded her in death.

Howard Hawkins, 79

Howard Hawkins, 79, of Green County, Ky. died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, at Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg, Ky.

He was the son of the late Homer Hawkins and Mayme Thompson Hawkins.

Funeral was Saturday, Oct. 9 at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg. Burial was in Jones cemetery with military rites by the Marion County Honor Guard. Bro. Leslie Jewell officiated.

Joseph E. Dowling Jr., 63

Joseph E. Dowling Jr., 63, of Somerset, Ky. died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

Son of the late Joseph Dowling Sr. and Louise Abell Dowling, he was born in Campbellsville on May 3, 1947. He was retired from Mt. Vernon Plastics, a manager for Dairy Queen and an agent for Commonwealth Life Insurance Co. He was a Vietnam War veteran and a member of St. Mildred Catholic Church.

He was married to Shirley Wells Dowling, who survives.

Linda Kirtley, 67

Linda Kirtley, 67, of Campbellsville died at 3:50 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, in Campbellsville.

Daughter of the late Add Logan Lawson and Emma Thomas Lawson, she was born Jan. 28, 1943, in Taylor County. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church and was a surgery department employee with Taylor Regional Hospital for 30 years.

She was married to Richard Kirtley on July 27, 1958. He preceded her in death Feb. 10, 1987.

James Earl Lewis, 88

James Earl Lewis, 88, of Louisville, Ky., died at 2:40 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010, in Louisville.

Son of the late William N. Lewis and Zana Sizemore Lewis, he was born on Sept. 15, 1921, in Hyden, Ky. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, a member of the Grand Lodge of Kentucky F. & A.M., the Thoroughbred Stein Collectors Association and the Kyana Geological Society. He was an avid sports fan.

Catherine A. Huddleston, 76

Catherine A. Huddleston, 76, of Southern Drive in Campbellsville died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010, at Hardin Memorial Hospital.

She was the daughter of the late William B. and Anna Elwin Canary.

She was married to Donald C. Huddleston, who preceded her in death.

Geneva Rae Bright, 71

Geneva Rae Bright, 71, of Campbellsville died at 9:41 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010, in Columbia, Ky.

Daughter of the late Thomas Feltner Bright and Mayme Lois Christie Bright, she was born on July 13, 1939, in Taylor County. She attended First Church of God and was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville.

Survivors include a brother, Lowell Bright of Springfield, Ill.; two foster brothers, Barry King of Campbellsville and Phillip King of Sarasota, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Calvin Ray Puyear, 45

Calvin Ray Puyear, 45, of Fuller Harding Road in Campbellsville died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010.

Son of Elbert and Jewell Puyear of Campbellsville, he was an employee of Ingersoll-Rand Corp. of Campbellsville.

He was married to Debora Puyear, who survives.

Survivors include a son, Jessie Puyear of Campbellsville; two daughters, McKenzie Puyear of Campbellsville and Carly Puyear of Alabama; three stepchildren, Shawn Penoyer, Christopher Penoyer and Desiree Penoyer, all of Campbellsville; and a sister, Judith Mattingly of Campbellsville.

William Randy Rakes Sr., 58

William Randy Rakes Sr., 58, of Sunnyhill Drive in Campbellsville died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010, at his home.

He was the son of the late Dennis Lawrence and Nellie Mae Rakes.

He was married to Brenda Sue Rakes, who survives.

Reva Nell Kessler Marcum, 66

Reva Nell Kessler Marcum, 66, of Hopkinsville, Ky., formerly of Hodgenville, Ky., died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville.

Survivors include a daughter, Reva Jean Rapier of Greensburg, Ky.; and three sons, Jimmy Dean Adkins of Greensburg and Kenny Wayne Marcum and Jerry Lee Marcum of Hodgenville.

Funeral was Saturday, Jan. 28, at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg. Burial was in Green County Memory Gardens in Summersville, Ky. Bro. Gordon Davis officiated.
