Harry C. "Buck" Kennedy, 84, of Sparta, died Sunday at King's Daughters Hospital in Madison, Ind. He was a retired employee of Standard Oil and a member of Sparta Christian Church.
Survivors include nephews, Terry Bartlett of Cincinnati and Richard Bartlett of Philadelphia.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at McDonald Funeral Home, Main Street in Owenton. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Poplar Grove Cemetery, Owen County. Memorials are suggested to the church or Sparta Volunteer Fire Department.

Catherine Bankemper Kinman, 75, of Highland Heights, died at 12:20 a.m. Sunday at St. Luke Hospital East, Ft. Thomas. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Roy C. Kinman; daughters, Therese Lesting of Henderson, Nev., Alice Wolfson of Houston, Cathy Kinman of Highland Heights and Pamela Murray of Cold Spring; sons, Leroy Kinman of Hagerstown, Md., and Mark Kinman of Cold Spring; 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Mildred C. McGaha, 70, of Florence, died Friday at her home.
She was a homemaker and member of Florence First Church of God. She served on the church council, was a member of Women's Missionary Ladies, and a former Sunday school teacher. A son, Daniel P. McGaha, died in 1994.
Survivors include her husband, Elbert O. McGaha; a son, Jim McGaha of Warsaw; daughters, Linda Smith of Independence and Bonnie McGaha of Ft. Mitchell; half-brothers, John Akers of Oak Ridge, Tenn., and Alton Akers of Liberty; half-sisters, Ann Cleary of Alexandria and Mae Tankersley of Highland Heights; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Stith Funeral Home, Florence.

Patrick James McKay Jr., 66, of Maysville, died Monday at his home. He was a self-employed photographer with McKay's Studio, Maysville, and a director of the Continentals orchestra. He was a member of Maysville FOP, Maysville VFW Post, Maysville American Legion and a member of the council of St. Patrick School and Church, Maysville. He was a past president of Kentucky Professional Photographers Association and a founder of K of C Newspaper.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Stahl McKay; sons, Bernard McKay of Newport, Danny McKay of Moberly, Mo., Dennis McKay of Morehead, Gerald McKay, Pat McKay, Victor McKay and Joe McKay, all of Maysville, Leo McKay of Mays Lick and Michael McKay of Wilmington, N.C.; and 14 grandchildren.

Mary K. Sanders, 77, of Carrollton, died at 5:12 p.m. Sunday at Green Valley Health Care Center in Carrollton. She was a homemaker. Her husband, J. T. "Pete" Sanders, died in 1996.
Survivors include sons, Gary Sanders and Harvey Sanders, both of Carrollton, and Billy Sanders of North Vernon, Ind.; a daughter, Hallie Berry of Carrollton; and three grandchildren.

Lester L. Simmons, 68, of Erlanger, died at 7 a.m. Saturday at Veterans Administration Hospital, Cincinnati. He was a heavy equipment operator with Durr Construction Co., Florence, and attended Florence Baptist Temple. He was an Army veteran.
Survivors include sons, Dan Simmons of Elsmere, Dave Simmons and Doug Simmons, both of Erlanger; sisters, Mary Scott and Gladys Tanner, both of Millersburg; a brother, Joe Simmons of Independence; and four grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today at Simmons Family Cemetery. Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence, is handling arrangements.

William White , 32, of Covington, died at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.
Mr. White was a driver with Jess 'N' Sons Towing Service, Covington.
Survivors include his wife, Ada White ; sons, William Paul White Jr., Timothy White and Justin White , all at home; a daughter, Brandy Nichole White , at home; his mother and stepfather, Shelva and James Miles of Latonia; brothers, Roger White and John White , both of Twentyseven Palms, Calif.; half- brothers, Willie McCauley of Burlington and Hiram McCauley of Erlanger; and sisters, Patty White of Beechgrove, Paula Good and Joanna White , both of Erlanger.

Williamstown's Rita Daugherty, volunteer, wise mother
Whether it was with her sewing, her music, or her vivid imagination, Rita Orr Daugherty had the ability to make even the simplest thing special.
As a volunteer at a nursing home, Mrs. Daugherty used her sewing talents to make life a bit easier for elderly patients.
"She enjoyed making aprons for people with walkers so that they could have something with pockets for their brushes, combs, and other little trinkets," Mrs. Daugherty's husband, the Rev. R. T. Daugherty said.
"She would sometimes sneak in and leave them (the aprons) and nobody would know where they came from."
At home, Mrs. Daugherty needed only some time and her imagination to entertain and teach her children.
"She would take me and my brother into the other room in the evenings and she would play word games with us," said her daughter, Lorretta Hitchcock of Rochester Hills, Mich.
"She tried to teach us the value of inexpensive time spent together."
Mrs. Daugherty died Monday evening at her home in Williamstown. She was 74.
In addition to her volunteer work at the nursing home, she was also a volunteer chaplain at the hospital and spent a great deal of time at the Williamstown Baptist Church, where her husband is the pastor.
Mrs. Daugherty taught Sunday school, sang in the church choir and was a member of the church's Women's Missionary Union.
"She taught me the value of a tender heart," said her son, Raymond Daugherty of Sadieville.
"I hear my mother's voice so often. It is a guidance that tuned me in to what others were feeling and the impact of my behavior on others."
Mrs. Daugherty also taught others. She was a former substitute teacher for Williamstown independent schools, and was the school system's first secretary.
She wrote "Through the Years," a history book on the Women's Missionary Union of the Crittenden Association of Baptist Churches in Kentucky.
Mrs. Daugherty's other survivors include sisters, Irma Tosh of Farmington Hills, Mich., Betty Toney of Palm Harbor, Fla. and Corine Toney of Pinkney, Mich.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the church. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown, and from 1 p.m. Thursday until services at the church. Burial will be in Williamstown Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Williamstown Baptist Church choir, 214 N. Main St., Williamstown, 41097.

Dorothy L. Chalfin, 78, of Covington, died at 8:20 p.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center Hospice, Covington.
Survivors include sisters, Nellie Scheid of Bromley and Betty Bailey of Florence; and a brother, Henry Botkin of Walton.

Russell Harold Farmer, 70, of Williamstown, died Tuesday morning at Mercy Hospital Anderson, Cincinnati. He was a retired time study engineer with Salbrook Steel Co., Lockland, Ohio. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Partlon Farmer; a daughter, Sandy Clark-Fidler of Pickerington, Ohio; four grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

Gladys Jett Hall, 53, of Bourbon County, died Monday at her home. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Pleas Hall; sons, Pleas Hall Jr., Thomas Hall and Willard Hall, all of Bourbon County, and Lee Hall of Lee County; a daughter, Tammy Knight of Bourbon County; brothers, Jimmy Jett of Cynthiana and Tex Jett of Mt. Sterling; sisters, Dora Jane Irvin of Bourbon County, and Woody Callahan, Melba Soard and Connie Kelly, all of Cynthiana; and 19 grandchildren.

Alma Grace Eggleston Leek, 80, formerly of Highland Heights, died Tuesday morning at Twin Towers in Cincinnati. She retired in 1984 from the Hospitality House at Bethesda Hospital in Cincinnati. Her husband, Wilson Earl Leek, died in 1985.
Survivors include daughters, Wanda Gail Welch of Cincinnati and Lois Jean Wessling of Newport; a brother, C. L. Eggleston of Belleview; a sister, Alberta Bowlin of Milan, Ind.; eight grandchildren and 18 great- grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church of Cold Spring.

Charlotte Ann Pope, 80, of Falmouth, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center Grant County, Williamstown. She was a former owner and operator of a Falmouth grocery store. She was also a member of Turner Ridge Baptist Church and the Butler Homemakers Club.
