Harold Pittman, 52
Harold Pittman, 52, of Merrimac Peck Road in Elkhorn, Ky., died on Friday, July 30, 2004, at UK Medical Center in Lexington, Ky., after a sudden illness.
Son of the late Chester and Stella Lowe Pittman, he was a farmer and of the Baptist faith.
He was married
to Wanda Clark Pittman, who survives.
Survivors also include two sons, Harold Pittman Jr. and Terry Clay Pittman, both of Campbellsville; two brothers, Eugene Pittman of Lebanon, Ky., and Ronnie Pittman of Campbellsville; five sisters, Wanda Gribbins, Charlene Muncie and Linda Sluder, all of Campbellsville, and Carolyn Yates and Thelma Childrens, both of Lebanon; and four grandchildren, Sarah Pittman, Bradley Pittman, Nathaniel Pittman and Nicholas Pittman, all of Campbellsville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Donnie Clay Pittman; and one sister, Betty Jean Pittman.
Funeral was Monday, Aug. 2, at Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home in Campbellsville. The Rev. Don Gowin officiated. Burial was in Tallow Creek cemetery.
Pallbearers were Walter Rhodes, Bobby Martin, William Yates, Barry Pittman, Curtis Cox and Harvey Garrett.
Honorary pallbearers were Joe Curt Thomas, Carl Graybeal, Foster Followell, Marshall Stamp, Brent Cox and David Stamp.
Leon Reynolds, 80
Leon Reynolds, 80, of Green County, Ky., died on Thursday, July 29, 2004, at Jane Todd Crawford Memorial Hospital in Greensburg, Ky.
Son of the late William "Silas" Reynolds and Louria Vaughn Reynolds, he was born in Green County on Nov. 10 1923.
He attended Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church and was a World War II veteran, where he served in the United States Army. Reynolds was also a member of American Legion Rod Lowe Post 124 and James L. Pruitt Lodge 5813 of Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was retired from the Kentucky Department of Highways, where he worked for 30 years.
He was married
to Betty Wright on Dec. 5, 1947. She survives.
Survivors also include one daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Garry Larimore of Greensburg; two grandchildren, Bethany LeAnne Larimore of Lexington, Ky., and Kyle Larimore of Greensburg; three sisters, Virgie Wright of Louisville, Ky., Zella Judd of Greensburg and Katheryn Loy of Bowling Green, Ky.; and three brothers, William Grady Reynolds of Indiana and Durward Reynolds and Ray Reynolds, both of Louisville.
Funeral was Sunday, Aug. 1 at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg. The Rev. Jim Hagan officiated. Burial was in Greensburg cemetery with military honors.
Pallbearers were Jackie Reynolds, Wayne Wright, Gary Smith, Mike Judd, Roger Skaggs, Darrell Smith, Billy Wright and Byron Larimore.
Honorary pallbearers were Phillip Jeffries, Theodore Akin, Mike Durrett, Garnett Gupton, Philip Hay, Robert Larimore, Mark Judd, Ivan Judd, Archie Akin, Lucian Beard, Damon Judd and Troy Davis.
Expressions of sympathy are suggested to the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church building fund and can be made at the funeral home.
Sam F. Sapp, 100
Sam F. Sapp, 100, of Marseilles, Ill., died on Thursday, July 29, 2004, at Community Hospital of Ottawa.
Son of the late Yancy M. and Anna Yates Sapp, he was born on April 4, 1904, in Hartford City, Ind. He worked at Nabisco until retirement in 1969.
He was married
to Lucille Stebbins, who survives.
Survivors also include one daughter and son-in-law, Miriam and Henry Roe of Marseilles; one granddaughter and her spouse, Darlene and Jeffrey Poundstone of Marseilles; three great-grandchildren, Emily Poundstone, Matthew Poundstone and Samuel Poundstone; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas T. and Theresa Sapp of Los Angeles, Calif., and William and LaVerne Sapp of Campbellsville, Ky.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Wright and Anna Puryer; and four brothers, John Sapp, Omer Sapp, Alonzo Sapp and the Rev. Gilbert Sapp.
Funeral Mass was Monday, July 26, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. Bo Schmitt officiated. Burial was in Riverview cemetery.
Pallbearers were Don Tabor, Ed Mussatto, Don Elliott, Dave Baudino, Bill Sliker and Robert Golebiowski.
Douglas Blake Simpson, 21
Douglas Blake Simpson, 21, of Georgetown, Ky., formerly of Campbellsville, Ky., died on Thursday, July 29, 2004.
Son of Barry Douglas and Tina Kay McDavitt Simpson, he was a member of Gano Avenue Baptist Church and a graduate of Scott County High School.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one brother, Hunter Simpson; his companion, Randi Adkins; grandparents, Sharon and Terry Beams and Doug and Gayle Simpson, all of Campbellsville, Opal Sebastian of Nicholasville, Ky., and Gordon and Wanda McDavitt of Bowling Green, Ky.; and great-grandparents, Marquerite Simpson of Georgetown and Josephine Pearson of Campbellsville.
Funeral was Monday, Aug. 2 at Johnson's Funeral Home in Georgetown. The Rev. Bruce Carpenter officiated. Burial was in Georgetown cemetery.
Pallbearers were Hunter Simpson, Mario Overstreet, Jose Toro, Brian Smith, Jack Waller and Seann Brown.
Norma Jean Altman Sinkhorn, 56
Norma Jean Altman Sinkhorn, 56, of Louisville, Ky., formerly of Columbia, Ky., died on Thursday, July 29, 2004.
Daughter of the late James and Oneta Baker Roberts, she was a member of Eastern Gate Baptist Church and a property manager for Monopoly Realty Co., both in Louisville.
She was married
to Joel Sinkhorn, who survives.
Survivors also include one daughter, Robin Hughes; two sisters, Brenda Lewis and Linda Roberts; one brother, James Roberts; and two grandsons.
Funeral was Saturday, July 31, at 2 p.m. at Fern Creek Funeral Home in Bardstown, Ky.

Lou Willie 'Twight' Taylor, 62
Lou Willie "Twight" Taylor, 62, of Hillview Court in Campbellsville, Ky., died on Thursday, July 29, 2004, at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville after an illness.
Daughter of the late Louise Smith, she was a member of First Baptist Church and a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Haskins Jr., and later married
James Theodore Taylor, who survives.
Survivors also include two sons, Harrison Emanuel Haskins and Hearie Haskins, both of Campbellsville; five daughters, Celeste Black of Florida, Sarah Edelen, Julie Hatcher, Nichelle Taylor and Schemanda Taylor, all of Campbellsville; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jerry Smith of Georgia and Jim Smith of Illinois; and two sisters, Carrie Thornton and Betty Hazard, both of Campbellsville.
Funeral was Monday, Aug. 2 at First Baptist Church in Campbellsville. The Rev. George P. Lee III officiated. Burial was in Crown Hill cemetery.
Pallbearers were William Henry Taylor, Randy Taylor, Joseph Taylor Sr., Dwight Taylor, Kenny Bridgewater and David Johnston.

Sharon Webb, 52
Sharon Webb, 52, of High Pine Street in Campbellsville, Ky., died on Tuesday, July 27, 2004, in Campbellsville.
Daughter of the late Roy Allen Webb and Jewell Garrett Webb, she was born on Oct. 31, 1951 in Taylor County, Ky.
She was married
to Roger Warren of Campbellsville, who survives.
Survivors also include one son, Adam Packard of Campbellsville; one granddaughter, Jade Packard; three brothers, Roy Webb, Timmy Webb and Kenny Webb, all of Campbellsville; six sisters, Sisie Bennett, Barbara Boils and Alicia Webb, all of Campbellsville, Vickie Webb of Russell Springs, Ky., Karen Cundiff of Bardstown, Ky., and Tracy Wright of Summersville, Ky.
A memorial service was held Friday, July 20, at Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
Parrott and Ramsey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Henry Barnett, 87
Henry Barnett, 87, of Friendship Pike in Campbellsville, Ky., died on Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004, at Norton's Hospital in Louisville, Ky., after an illness.
Son of the late James Samuel and Eliza Jane Williams, he was a retired farmer and retired Fruit of the Loom employee.
Barnett was a member of Green River Memorial Baptist Church.
He was married
to Gladys Barnett, who survives.
Survivors also include two sons and daughters-in-law, Harlon and Carolyn Barnett and Sammy and Brenda Barnett, all of Campbellsville; two daughters and one son-in-law, Brenda Barnett of Boston, Mass., and Carolyn and David McMillen of Dayton, Ohio; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Pauline Wright of Fairdale, Ky., Orbazine Faulkner of Campbellsville and Christine Pedigo of Tompkinsville, Ky.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Stephen Barnett.
Funeral was Wednesday, Aug. 4, at Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home Chapel in Campbellsville. The Revs. Landon Hadley, Gary Durham and Danny Pace officiated.
Burial was in Green River Memorial Baptist Church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Paul McMillen, Kevin McMillen, Kerry Barnett, Jason Brainger, Ron Walters and Casey Walters.
Mary Lucy Barnett, 61
Mary Lucy Barnett, 61, of Green County, Ky., died on Sunday, Aug. 29, 2004, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Ky.
Daughter of the late Belknap Roosevelt Smith and Cordelia Logan Smith, she was born in Green County on Dec. 20, 1942 and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
She was married
to Rollin Barnett Jr. of Greensburg. He survives.
Besides her husband, Barnett is survived by one daughter, Holly Barnett of Greensburg; two stepsons and their spouses, Earl and Mary Jane Barnett of Greensburg and James and Theresa Barnett of Aurora, Ill.; four brothers, John Ike Smith of Kansas City, Mo., Jewell Smith of Richmond, Ky., William Lewis Smith of Campbellsville and Logan Smith of Greensburg; one sister, Lettie Caldwell of Campbellsville; one grandchild, Jasmine; eight step-grandchildren; and 12 step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Stephon Barnett; three brothers and one sister, Raymond Smith, Robert Smith, James Henry Smith and Anna Bertha Smith.
Funeral will be at noon on Wednesday, Sept. 1 at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg. Burial will be in Green County Memory Gardens. The Rev. Walter Johnson will officiate.
Pallbearers are Tye Smith, David Barnett, Sherwayne Smith, Ryan Barnett, Underwood Smith and Stacy Groves.

Waymon Burton, 82
Waymon Burton, 82, of Columbia, Ky., died on Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2004, at 1:20 a.m. at T.J. Samson Hospital in Glasgow, Ky., after an illness.
Son of the late Sidney and Mary Lee Burton of Adair County, Ky., he was a member of Purdy Separate Baptist Church, a U.S. Army World War II veteran and was an owner and operator of a lime and gravel hauling service.
He was married
to Mabel Smiley of Columbia, who survives.
Other survivors include one brother, Elbert Burton of Columbia; and three sisters, Thera Hardwick and Reeda Goodin, both of Columbia, and Sue Fisette of Edinburg, Ind.
He was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters, Nolen Burton, Carl Burton, Ollie Burton, Lillie McGaha, Rosie Burton, Ethel McQueary, Velma Pyles and Mabel Wilson.
Funeral was Saturday, Aug. 28 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in Columbia.
Bro. Junior Holmes and Donnie Smith officiated. Interment was in Haven Hill cemetery.
Pallbearers were Nathan Bennett, Ken Burton, Ronnie Burton, Danny Goodin, Marvin Hatch, Edward McGaha, Rick Shepherd and Gary Smiley.

Orlin Burton, 78, of Adair County, Ky., died on Sunday, Aug. 22, 2004, at Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia, Ky., after an illness.
Son of the late William Hector and Annie Liz Bryant Burton, he was a member of Hadley's Community Church and was an auto mechanic at Phelps Motors and Harvey-Ellis Motors in Columbia, Ky.
He was married
to Maxine Corbin Burton, who preceded him in death on April 2, 2003.
Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Donnie and Phyllis Burton and Ronnie Burton, all of Columbia; one daughter, Peggy Ann Harvey of Columbia; one sister, Pearsetta Cowan of Columbia; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 25 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in Columbia. Bros. Steve Willis and Elbert Hadley will officiate. Burial will be in Columbia cemetery.
