Maxine Lyons
Maxine Lyons, 69, of Anna Court, Campbellsville, Ky., died Friday, July 25, 2003 in Campbellsville.
Daughter of the late Thomas Webb and Mary Eliza Willis Webb, she was born on Oct. 19, 1933 in Taylor County, Ky. and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church.
She was married
to James Lyons on June 14, 1954, who preceded her in death on Aug. 7, 2001.
Survivors include one daughter, Sandra White of Campbellsville; two grandsons and their spouses, David and Tammy White and Damon and Tammy Whitlock White of Campbellsville; three great-grandchildren, Mylea Shae White, Tanner Brae White and Gary Dayton White, all of Campbellsville; and one brother, Marshall Webb of Campbellsville.
Four brothers and two sisters, Alton Webb, Golden Webb, Cecil Webb, Roy Web, Justeen Judd and Ruby Tungate also preceded her in death.
Funeral was at 11 a.m. Monday, July 28 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville. Burial was in Lebanon National cemetery. Bro. Roger Robertson and Bro. Robert Boston officiated.
Pallbearers were Gary Dickens, Don Henderson, Thomas Hiestand, James Rice, Kenny Webb, Roy Webb, Timmy Webb and Gary White.
Honorary pallbearers were Gary Lyons, Larry Lyons, Scott Lyons and Roger Warren.
Edward McFarland
Edward Dalton McFarland, 69, of Louisville, Ky. died Friday, July 25, 2003 in Louisville.
Son of the late William Bryan McFarland and Bertha Gardner McFarland, he was born on May 23, 1934 in Taylor County, Ky. and was a member of Brookview Baptist Church.
McFarland was a retired self-employed building contractor.
He was married
to Frances Wilson in September 1964, who survives.
Other survivors include two daughters and two sons, Lisa Kendall, Deloris Kunzler and Gary Wininger of Elizabethtown, Robert Wininger of Mesa, Ariz.; one brother and one sister, J.W. McFarland of Campbellsville, and Oneida Carnes of Louisville; 13 grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 29 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville. Burial was in Good Hope Baptist Church cemetery. Bro. Troy Rust and A.J. Campbell officiated.
Pallbearers were Gary Carnes, Greg Carnes, Roland Kendall, Roland Wayne Kendall, Bryan McFarland, Mark McFarland, Bobby Wininger and Gary Wininger.
Shelby Roberts
Shelby Roberts, 88, of South Central Avenue, Campbellsville, Ky., died Sunday, July 27, 2003 in Campbellsville.
Son of the late Elbert Roberts and Allie Hunter Roberts, he was born on Aug. 17, 1914 in Taylor County, Ky. and attended First Church of God.
Roberts was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom.
He was married
to Annie Eastridge on Aug. 17, 1935, who survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Marilyn Garner and Jewell Corbin of Campbellsville; three grandchildren, Tommy Corbin of Campbellsville, Gina Wilber of Wagner, S.C., and Stephanie Garner of Boston, Mass.; two great-grandchildren, Jennifer Garner of Campbellsville, and Jamie Wilber of Lexington, S.C.
He was also preceded in death by one son and three daughters, John Wesley Roberts, Norma Faye Roberts, Betty Lou Roberts and Bonnie Sue Roberts; and two brothers and two sisters, Herman Roberts, Grover Roberts, Nellie Mae Roberts and Purnie Lou Roberts.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 29 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville. Burial was in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. Bro. Colin McDaniel and Bro. Brad Epperson officiated.
Pallbearers were David Corbin, Tommy Corbin, Gerry Dugger, Jimmy Garner, Harold Lee Humphress, Houston Jenkins, Jack Alan Perkins Jr. and Roy Tedder.
Evelyn Foster
Evelyn Foster, 71, of Druin Street, Campbellsville, Ky., died Monday, July 21, 2003 at Metzmeier Nursing Home in Campbellsville after an illness.
She was the daughter of the late James and Carrie Redman Rooks, and was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville and was a member of Saint Mark United Methodist Church
She was married
to Bobby Gene Foster, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Beverly McMahan and Brenda and Thomas Songer, all of Campbellsville; four grandchildren, Jessie Morgan, Melissa Durham, and Joshua Wise and McKenzy Dixon; two great-grandchildren, Courtney Morgan and Jannah Davis, two brothers and two sisters, James Rooks Jr. of Campbellsville, Travis Rooks of Tennessee, Maxine Cobb of Mount Washington and Katherine Bradshaw of Campbellsville.
One daughter, Linda Sue Morgan, also preceded her in death.
Funeral was at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 24 at Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home in Campbellsville. Burial was in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. Bro. Jim Durham officiated.
Pallbearers were Steve Bradshaw, Roger Cobb, Donnie Cobb, Mike Rooks, Anthony Gillespie and Robbie Spencer.
Donnie Mings
Donnie Mings, 64, of Hauula, Hawaii, formerly of Campbellsville, Ky., died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2003 at a cancer treatment center in Mexico.
Son of Ray Mings and Mattie Roberts Mings, he was born on March 8, 1939 in Taylor County, Ky. and was a member of Campbellsville Christian Church.
Mings was the missionary minister of the Hauula Church of Christ for the last 27 years. Prior to that he served as a missionary for 14 years in Osaka, Japan, where he also taught at Osaka Bible Seminary.
He was married
to Charlotte Gossett on Dec. 10, 1960, who survives.
Other survivors include one son and daughter, Sheri Kuha and husband Harold of Kailua, Hawaii, and Jeffrey Mings of Ewa Beach, Hawaii; five grandchildren, Justin, Jessica, Johnna, Josiah and Jocelyn Kuha of Kailua, Hawaii; parents, Ray and Mattie Mings of Campbellsville; two brothers and one sister, Lonnie and wife Coral Mings of Israel, Dale and wife Patty Mings of Eastview, Ky., and Carol and husband Mike Cronelison of Whitehouse, Texas.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1 at Campbellsville Christian Church by Joe Hatchett and Paul Patton and at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2 at Pricetown Church of Christ in Pricetown, Ohio. Burial was Friday, Oct. 3 at Barker cemetery in Pricetown, Ohio.
Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville was in charge of local arrangements.

Jim Wilson
Jim Wilson, 78, of Arbor Lane, Campbellsville, Ky., died Monday, Sept. 29, 2003 in Campbellsville.
Son of the late Jack Wilson and Bernice Buckie Wilson, he was born on March 19, 1925 in St. Louis, Mo., and was a member of First Baptist Church in Orinton, Mo.
He retired from the U.S. Navy after 21 years of service of active duty, having served in World War II, the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He served as Taylor County Deputy Jailer for 14 years and was a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels.
He was married
to Elma Perkins on Jan. 20, 1962, who survives.
Wilson is also survived by one brother, John Watson Buchanan of Wichita, Kan.
Funeral was at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville. Burial was in Hovious Ridge cemetery with full military honors by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard. The Rev. Gary Arnold officiated.
Pallbearers were Eugene Benningfield, John W. Benningfield, Buck Gumm, William Loyall, Sam Newcomb, John Buchanan and Mike Smith.
Ray Knifley
Ray Knifley, 92, of Gowdy Street in Campbellsville, Ky., died on Monday, Nov. 24, 2003, in Campbellsville.
Son of the late W.R. Knifley and Lena Williams Knifley, he was born on Dec. 31, 1910 in Adair County, Ky., and was a member of Campbellsville Christian Church.
He was married
to Edna Campbell in 1932. She preceded him in death on Nov. 20, 1997.
Survivors include one daughter and one son, Julia L. Knifley of Campbellsville and W.R. Knifley of Smiths Grove, Ky.; two grandchildren and their spouses, Greg and Joy Knifley of Hamilton, Ohio, and Ella and Kevin Christensen of Arapahoe, Neb.; four great-grandchildren, Hunter Knifley of Hamilton, Ohio, and Haley Christensen, Lily Christensen and Chloe Christensen, all of Arapahoe, Neb.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Buford Knifley.
Funeral was at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 29 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville. Burial was in Brookside cemetery. Joe Hatchett officiated.
Pallbearers were George Crabtree, Mike Hunt, Ewing Knifley, Leroy Knifley, Charles Estes McKinley and Gene Newcomb.
Leon Phillips
Leon Phillips, 61, of Green County, Ky., died on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Ky.
Son of the late O.L. "Lee" Phillips and Johnnie White Phillips, he was born on Feb. 4, 1942 in Green County, and was a member of Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church and a farmer.
He was married
to Shelia Shirley on May 13, 1966. She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Susan and John Yarberry of Franklin, Tenn., and Tracy Phillips of Nashville, Tenn.; one sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Royce Clark of Greensburg; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edwin and Dorothy Shirley of Greensburg; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bobbie and Madelle Shirley, Fay and Bobby Blakeman and Willard Clark, all of Greensburg.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Lillian Clark.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 23 at Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg. Burial was in Greensburg cemetery. Bro. Charlie Houk officiated.
Pallbearers were Phillip Clark, David McKinney, Faron Blakeman, Kenny Morgan, David McKinney, Jeff Durham, Mike McKinney and Malcolm Kessler.
Honorary pallbearers were Sam McKinney, Sam Underwood, Brent Curry, Royce Clark, Dwight Sandidge, Bobby Blakeman, Willard Clark, Maxie Houk and Boyd Thomas Curry.
Samuel Sapp
Samuel Randolph Sapp, 71, of Red Fern Road in Campbellsville, Ky., died on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, in Louisville, Ky.
Son of Della Groves Sapp of Campbellsville and the late Alonza Sapp, he was born on Dec. 30, 1931 in Taylor County, Ky., and was a member of Spurlington United Methodist Church.
Sapp was a retired educator and counselor in the Taylor County School System.
He was married
to Margaret Rodgers on Nov. 18, 1951. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, two daughters and their spouses, Steve Sapp of Louisville, Ky., Bradley and Sherl Sapp of Summersville, Ky., Karen and Bill Fawcett of Campbellsville, and Jennifer and Van Wethington of Bowling Green, Ky.; seven grandchildren, Chad Fawcett of Glasgow, Ky., Lynde Fawcett of Campbellsville, Bronson Sapp, Tyler Sapp and Stevie Sapp, all of Somerset, Candra Sapp of Summersville, and Grace Anne Wethington of Bowling Green; one great-grandson, Zachary Fawcett of Glasgow; and two sisters, one brother and their spouses, Bernice and Rudolph Cox, Laverne and Paul Edward Witham, and Manuel and Carolyn Sapp, all of Campbellsville.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville. Burial was in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Paul J. Dicken and the Rev. Travis Keltner officiated.
Pallbearers were Rudolph Cox, Gordon Mann, Richard Page, Bobby Rodgers, Jimmy Rodgers, Mitchell Rodgers, Ham Skaggs and Paul Edward Witham.

Hortense Watson
Hortense Finn Watson, 92, of South Central Avenue in Campbellsville, Ky., died on Monday, Nov. 24, 2003, in Campbellsville.
Daughter of the late Walter E. Finn and Eula Mae Bell Finn, she was born on June 5, 1911 in Taylor County, Ky., and was a member of First United Methodist Church.
She was married
to Thurman Watson on April 6, 1928. He preceded her in death on April 14, 1992.
Survivors include two sons, one daughter and their spouses, Dan and Brenda Watson, Finn and Betty Watson and Frances and Dennis Morris, all of Campbellsville; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by one son, Douglas Watson on July 24, 2001; three brothers and three sisters, Hogard Finn, Edwin Finn, Maurice Finn, Annie Froess, Martha Barkley and Helen Capps.
Funeral was at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville. Burial was in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were David Morris, John Morris, Carl Watson, Jeff Watson, Michael Watson, Norman Watson and Ricky Watson.
