Mrs. Eudena Christina Patterson, 80, of Madisonville, KY died at 8:35 A.M, Thursday, February 9, 2006 at the Brighton Cornerstone Healthcare.

Born August 25, 1925 in Christian County, KY she was the daughter of the late Luther Ellis Grant and Ella Edna Jenkins Grant. She was also preceded in death by one son, David Michael Patterson and one sister, Vinata Pearl Grant.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Greater Lighthouse Pentecostal Church.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Roy H. Patterson of Madisonville; one daughter, Joyce Jennings of Madisonville; three sons, Larry Patterson, Jimmy Patterson and Roy H. Patterson Jr., all of Madisonville; three sisters, Laura Johnston of Earlington, Edna Jones of Madisonville and Nadine Garland of Madisonville; two brothers, Luther Lovan Grant of Earlington and Clyde Grant of Madisonville; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday, Feb. 13, 2006 at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Hendricks officiating. Burial will follow in the Odd Fellows cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jeff Patterson, Ted Patterson, Michael Patterson, J.D. Patterson, Michael Jennings and Keith Alvery.

Friends may call from 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. Sunday and on Monday from 12:00 Noon until the services.

Mrs. Joyce Estelle Greenfield Blanks

Mrs. Joyce Estelle Greenfield Blanks,77 , of Hanson, KY and formerly of Mortons Gap, KY died at 2:10 P.M., Tuesday, February 7, 2006 at the Regional Medical Center.

Born August 7, 1928 in Wyandotte, Michigan she was the daughter of the late Oral and Alma Goad Greenfield.

She was a salesclerk at the Peebles Department Store and J.C. Penneys. She was a member of the Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Mortons Gap, KY. She was a saleslady and district manager for Tupperware.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, William Blanks of Madisonville; three daughters, Mrs. Clyde “Debby” Hadley of Natchez, MS, Mrs. Wayne “Mona” Larkins of Hanson, KY and Mrs. Jim “Donna” Barton of Owensboro, KY; two sisters, Ann Wilkerson and Eva Joe Tudor, both of Mortons Gap and one brother, Rev. Harold Greenfield of Princeton, KY; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, Feb. 10, 2006 at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Taylor and Bro. Kenneth Johnston officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Salem cemetery in Mortons Gap. Pallbearers will be Clyde Hadley, Wayne Larkins, Jim Barton, Chad Larkins,Adam Larkins,Josh McKnight, Todd Sensing and Nathan Morrow. Honorary pallbearers will be Evan Blackford, Don Greenfield and John Thomas Goad.

Friends may call on Friday from 9:00 A.M. until the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Charles Raymond "John" Dickerson

Mr. Charles Raymond “John” Dickerson, 83, of Madisonville, KY died Tuesday Feb. 7, 2006 at 5:15 P.M. at the Brighton Cornerstone Healthcare.

Born September 7, 1922 in Madisonville he was the son of the late William Marvin Dickerson and Rassie Catherine Nance Dickerson.

He was a self-employed welder and a member of the First United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Wesley Brotherhood Sunday School class. He was a WW II Army Air Corp veteran and a member of the American Legion Post# 6 and the V.F.W. Post # 5480.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Kathleen Moore Dickerson of Madisonville; one son, Kenneth R. Dickerson of Santa Barbara, CA; one sister, Louise Duff of Leesburg, FL and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, Feb. 10, 2006 at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Weyman McGuire, Dr. Glenn Sowards and Bro. David Gehring officiating. Burial will follow in the West Lawn cemetery in Hanson, KY. Pallbearers will be Rick Korzenborn, Jerry Nutt, Charlie Hicklin, Eddie Hicklin, Steve Stoltz, Dan Stoltz, Glenn Parker and Jonathan Gehring. Honorary Pallbearers will be Moir Noel, Robert Wilkerson, Morton Dickerson and Tom Lutz.

Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday and after 10:00 A.M. on Friday until the service.

Memorial gifts may take the form of donations to the Relay for Life or the First United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Minnie Kathryn Foster

Mrs. Minnie Moore Foster, 84, of Madisonville, KY died at 9:02 P.M. Monday, February 6, 2006, at Ridgewood Terrace in Madisonville.

Born January 30, 1922 in Hopkins County, KY she was the daughter of the late Charles Penley Moore and Dixie Gatlin Moore. Mrs. Foster was also preceded in death by her husband, Noble Ray Foster in 1995 and two sisters, Mary Powell and Lucille Bennett.

She was a secretary for the Boy Scouts of America in Louisville for 43 years, and a member of Second Baptist Church in Madisonville.

She is survived by one sister, Martha Turley of Central City, KY; one brother C.J. Moore of Morton’s Gap, KY and one step-son, Michael Ray of Seattle, WA, and one step-daughter, Pat Benke of North Carolina.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 9, 2006, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Finley and Rev. J.D. Holt officiating. Burial will be in Grapevine cemetery in Madisonville.

Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. Thursday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be nephews.

Memorials may take the form of donations to the Second Baptist Church building fund or the charity of your choice.

Mr. Thomas Edmon Stroud

Mr. Thomas Edmon Stroud, 73, of Madisonville, KY died at 1:26 P.M. Monday, February 6, 2006 at his home.

Born July 16, 1932 in McLean County, KY he was the son of the late Edmon Stroud and Helen Oakley Stroud. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Susan Laura Dean Stroud on August 17, 1987 and two brothers.

He was a retired steel worker and a member of the Bethany Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Madisonville American Legion Post#6 and was a Korean War Veteran.

He is survived by one daughter, Teresa Tudor of Springfield, IL; one son, Tony Stroud of Madisonville; three sisters, Loxie Miller of Rumsey, KY, Ona Mae Wiles of Franklin, KY and Helen Corbitt of Madisonville; two granddaughters, Shelbi and Morgan Tudor of Springfield, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006 at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Marvin Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the Odd Fellows cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post #6 and the V.F.W. Post #5480.

Friends may call from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday and on Thursday from 9:30 A.M. until the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Anna Lee Duncan

Mrs. Anna Lee Gatlin Duncan, 86, of Greenville, KY and formerly of Madisonville, KY died at 6:00 P.M. Saturday, February 4, 2006, at Muhlenburg Community Hospital in Greenville.

Born January 13, 1920 in Hopkins County, KY she was the daughter of the late Clinton William Gatlin and Bonnie Stodghill Gatlin.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a member of the First Christian Church in Central City, KY. Her hobbies included sewing and quilt making.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Rev. C. W. Duncan; one daughter, Charlotte Duncan Ogden of Owensboro, KY; one son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Teresa Duncan of Greenville; one brother, W. C. Gatlin of Madisonville; a granddaughter, Heather Duncan; six grandsons, Benji Ogden, Heath Duncan; Matt Ogden, Bryar Duncan, Chad Vincent and Jeremy Vincent and one great granddaughter, Hailey Vincent.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 7, 2006, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Dr. Tom Steiner officiating. Burial will be in Grapevine cemetery in Madisonville.

Pallbearers will be Benji Ogden, Heath Duncan, Matt Ogden, Chad Vincent, Jeremy Vincent and Charles Wayne Gatlin. Honorary pallbearers will be Heather Duncan and Bryar Duncan.

Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Monday and after 11:00 A.M. Tuesday.

Mrs. Mary Jane Edwards, 52, of Hanson, KY died at 12:33 P.M. Saturday, January 28, 2006 at her home.

Born February 5, 1953 in Madisonville, KY she was the daughter of the late Albert Givens Griffin Jr. and Marcella Williams Griffin. She was also preceded in death by one son, Mark David Edwards.

She was employed by 911 Billing and was a member of the Madisonville First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Anthony G. Edwards of Hanson; three daughters, Elizabeth Ann Edwards of San Diego, CA, Amy Wickham of Columbus, OH and Kelly Gibson of Nashville, TN; one sister, Jo Ann Smith of Mortons Gap, KY and one grandson, Jackson Wickham.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Calhoun officiating. Burial will follow in the East Lawn cemetery in Hanson.

Friends may call on Monday from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and on Tuesday from 12 Noon until the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Roy C. Robinson

Mr. Roy C. Robinson, of Madisonville, KY died 10:30 A.M., Thursday, January 26, 2006 at his home.

Born April 25, 1923 in Mortons Gap, KY he was the son of the late Charles Carlsted Robinson and Rollie Elizabeth Laffoon Robinson. He was also preceded in death by one son, Larry Wayne Robinson and one stepson, Ronald Martin.

He worked for the U.S. Postal Services for 42 years and was a member of the First Church of God. He was a WW II Marine Corp veteran and played the trumpet in the Marine Corp Band and the Branson Band.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Eva Rames Robinson of Madisonville; one daughter, Kim Breeding of Madison, IN; one son, Charles Robinson; two stepsons, Kenneth Martin and Mike Martin, both of Evansville, IN; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 30, 2006 at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Robert White officiating. Burial will follow in the Odd Fellows cemetery.

Friends may call from 3:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Sunday and on Monday after 9:00 A.M. until the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Marvin Carrico, 90, of Madisonville, KY died at 10:45 P.M. Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at the Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home.

Born July 14, 1915 in Hopkins County, KY he was the son of the late Jesse Mason Carrico and Lizzie Roberts Carrico. He was also preceded in death by one brother, George Mason Carrico.

He was a retired self-employed farmer and a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was a WW II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Sara Ashby Carrico of Madisonville; two daughters, Carolyn Carrico Marks and Annette Carrico, both of Bowling Green, KY ; one son, Bob Carrico of Madisonville; three granddaughters and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, January 28, 2006 at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Weyman McGuire officiating. Burial will follow in the Hanson cemetery.

Friends may call from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday and on Saturday after 9:00 A.M. until the service.
